텍스트마이닝을 활용한 연준의 통화정책방향 의결문 분석

Starting with the May 1999 meeting, the Fed (Federal Reserve System), the central bank of the United States began to issue monetary policy statements about the operational direction of future policy rates. Market has analyzed the words and nuances in the statement released to predict the future policy stance, and interest rate changes ever since. Fed has also paid attention to each word used in the decision statement to communicate with markets. Analysis result shows that the current Fed’s monetary policy statements appear to have policy direction predictable with high regularity, and that the Fed seems to make a policy signaling usually around 6 months before the time of policy changes. Consequently, the Fed has increased confidence and effectiveness of monetary policy. As shown in the example of the Fed, central banks need standards to choose terms and number of terms in the policy statements for the efficiency of monetary policy, and bear in mind that statements could be scientifically analyzed. 1999년 5월부터 미 연준은 향후 정책금리 운용방향에 관한 정보를 통화정책 의결문(statement)에 담아 공표하기 시작했다. 이후 금융시장에서는 의결문이 발표될 때마다 단어나 뉘앙스를 분석하여 연준의 향후 정책기조 및 금리 변경 가능성을 예측하였으며 미 연준도 의결문에 사용되는 각 단어에 섬세한 주의를 기울이면서 의결문을 통한 시장과의 소통 또는 정책 커뮤니케이션을 실시하게 되었다. 본 논문은 연준과 시장과의 커뮤니케이션 발전 과정 및 정책 예측 가능성을 평가해 보기 위해 텍스트마이닝 기법을 사용하여 1999년 5월부터 2014년 12월까지의 의결문을 분석해 보았다. 분석 결과, 현재 미 연준의 통화정책 의결문은 어느 정도 정책방향의 예측이 가능한 수준으로 그 규칙성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 미 연준은 정책기조 변경 시 통상 6개월 내외 시점부터 정책 시그널링을 실시하는 것으로 판단되며, 그 결과 미 연준 통화정책 의결문에 대한 신뢰도가 높아지고 통화정책의 효율성도 제고되는 것으로 평가할 수 있다. 미 연준의 사례에서 보듯이 중앙은행은 통화정책의 효율성 제고를 위해서 의결문 작성 시 구성 단어 수 및 단어 선택에 있어 일정한 원칙이 필요함을 양지하고 의결문이 과학적 분석 대상이 될 수 있음을 인식할 필요가 있다고 하겠다.

미 연준 통화정책방향 의결문의 시그널링 효과 분석

The US Federal Reserve (Fed) has decided to cut interest rates. When we look at the expression of the FOMC statements at the time of policy change period we can understand that Fed has been communicating with markets through a change of word selection. However, there is a criticism that the method of analyzing the expression of the decision sentence through the context can be subjective and limited in qualitative analysis. In this paper, we evaluate the signaling effect of FOMC statements based on previous research. We analyze decision making characteristics from the viewpoint of text mining and try to predict future policy trend changes by capturing changes in expressions between statements. For this purpose, a decision tree and neural network models are used. As a result of the analysis, it can be judged that the discrepancy indicators between statements could be used to predict the policy change in the future and that the US Federal Reserve has systematically implemented policy signaling through the policy statements. 최근 미 연준이 정책금리 인하를 결정하면서 향후 통화정책 운용방향에 관해 관심이 고조되고 있다. 과거 금리동결 시점이나 동결기간 중, 그리고 인상이나 인하 시점이 다가왔을 때 통화정책 의결문의 표현을 살펴보면 단어 선택의 변화 등을 통해 시장과 꾸준하게 커뮤니케이션해 왔었다는 것을 알 수 있다. 하지만 이렇게 의결문의 표현을 문맥을 통해 분석하는 방법이 다소 주관적이고 정성적인 분석에 그칠 수 있다는 비판이 있다. 이런 점을 고려하여 Woo와 Chang (2016)에서는 데이터마이닝 기법 중 하나인 텍스트마이닝 방법을 통해 의결문 분석 과정을 보완할 수 있는 방법을 제안한 바 있다. 본 논문에서는 선행 연구 결과를 토대로 미 연준의 통화정책 의결문의 정책 시그널링 효과를 평가해 보았다. 의결문의 특성을 텍스트마이닝 관점에서 분석하고 의결문 간 표현의 변화를 포착하여 향후 정책기조 변화를 예측하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대표적인 데이터마이닝 기법인 의사결정나무모형과 신경망모형을 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 대체로 의결문 간 비유사성의 변화가 향후 정책 변화를 효과적으로 예측할 수 있는 것으로 평가되었으며, 그동안 미 연준이 의결문을 통해 체계적으로 정책 시그널링을 실시해 온 결과로 판단할 수 있다.

중국 현대 옥조 불상의 조형 스타일 연구

This study focuses on the changes of jade carving Buddha statues which presented a single realistic style in the past and could not meet the demand of customers. While with the development of the industry and the exploration of statue styles by jade carvers, jade carving Buddha statues present the character with the realistic style as the mainstream, and various styles flourishing, including simple, retro, and cartoonish styles. The research scope of this study is the jade carving Buddha statues created over 70 years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The research conclusions are presented by representative statue works based on a literature review on the development of jade carving Buddha statues, and on-site investigations on the current status of the creation of jade carving Buddha statues. The research found that, with the emergence of various modeling styles, the creation of modern Chinese jade carving Buddha statues has broken away from a closed creative state, and has been integrated with modern art forms. The modern jade carving Buddha statues have also been regarded as artworks and accepted by viewers. In addition, this study provides a detailed classification of modern Chinese jade carving styles from the core perspective of shapes, providing an effective theoretical basis for future similar studies. 본 연구는 중국 현대 옥조(玉雕) 불상의 변화를 중점적으로 고찰하였다. 중국 현대 옥조 불상은 과거 단일한 사실 스타일을 나타냈으나 소비자의 다양한 소비수요를 만족시키지 못했으나 해당 업계의 발전과 옥조사(玉雕师)들의 끊임없는 탐색을 통해 오늘날 옥조 불상의 조형 스타일은 사실 스타일을 중심에서 벗어나미니멀리즘, 복고, 카툰 등 각종 스타일이 공존하는 상태로 발전하였다. 본 연구는 신중국 건국부터 오늘날까지 70여 년 동안 창작된 옥조 불상을 대상으로 하고, 문헌 연구를 통해 옥조 불상의 발전 맥락을 정리하는 동시에 현지 조사를 통해 옥조 불상의 창작 현황을 고찰하였다. 그리고 이를 기초로 대표적인 작품에대한 사례 연구를 통해 현대 중국 옥조 불상에서 각종조형 스타일의 등장은 이미 과거 폐쇄적인 창작 상태에서 벗어나 현대 예술과 융합되었고, 이는 예술품으로 감상자에게 수용되고 있다는 것을 의미한다는 결론을 얻었다. 그리고 중국 현대 옥조 스타일 조형을 중심으로 자세하게 분류한 본 연구는 향후 같은 유형의연구에 충분한 이론 근거를 제공할 수 있다.

월리스 챈 주얼리에 나타난 중국 전통 문화 요소에 관한 연구

중국의 주얼리 디자인 발전은 1987년 개혁개방 이후시작됐다. 이 과정에서 중국 전통문화의 요소를 담은우수한 보석 디자인 작품들이 쏟아져 나왔다. 중국의드문 세계적인 보석 디자이너 월리스의 작품에 중국 전통문화 요소가 많이 포함돼 있다. 전통문화는 한 민족발전의 원동력이며, 문명의 창조력이 있는 곳이다. 현재 월리스 챈에 대한 이론 연구는 대부분 그가 이룩한성과에 집중되어 있고, 작품을 출발점으로 하는 연구가비교적 드물며, 월리스 챈 작품에 표현된 중국 전통문화 요소에 대한 연구는 아직 존재하지 않는다. 따라서본 연구는 시범적인 역할을 통해 향후 월리스 챈에 대한 연구에 참고할 만한 이론 근거를 제공하고자 한다. 사진과 문헌에 분석을 통해 월리스 챈 작품에 나타난 중국 전통문화 요소를 정리하였다. 문헌 연구를 기초로 월리스 챈 작품에서 가장 중국적 특색이 담긴주얼리 작품을 사례로 선정하여, 그의 작품에 표현된중국 전통문화 요소를 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 중국의 주얼리 예술은 이미단순하게 서양을 학습하는 초기 단계를 벗어나 이미자주적 창의 능력을 갖추고 있다는 것을 증명하였다. 또한 중국 전통문화 요소를 핵심으로 하는 주얼리 예술 작품은 주얼리 예술가가 세계무대로 충분히 진출할 수 있다는 것을 보여주었다.

5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서에 나타난환경 관련 교육내용 분석

본 연구의 목적은 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서에 나타난 환경 관련 교육내용 분석이다. 분석 대상은 2012년 2월에 교육과학기술부에서 발행한 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서 11권의 활동 696개이다. 분석 준거는 자연환경, 인공 환경, 인간 활동과 환경, 자원, 환경오염, 환경보전, 환경위생, 환경윤리, 지속가능발전, 환경에 대한 감수성과 배려의 10개 환경 관련 교육 영역으로 이루어진다. 분석 결과, 생활주제에서는 봄ㆍ여름ㆍ가을ㆍ겨울, 환경과 생활, 동식물과 자연의 주제 순으로 환경 관련 교육내용의 높은 발생 빈도를 나타내었다. 활동 유형에서는 자유선택활동, 이야기나누기 활동에서 환경 관련 교육내용의 높은 발생 빈도를 나타냈으며, 자연환경과 인공 환경 영역에서 환경 관련 교육내용의 높은 발생빈도를 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. The purpose of this study is to analyze educational content related to the environment shown in the 5-year Nuri Curriculum Manual for Kindergarten Teachers. Analyzed are the 696 pieces of 11 activity books of the 5-year Nuri Curriculum Manual for Kindergarten Teachers issued by the Ministry of Education and Science Technology in February 2012. Analysis of compliance will be the content area of ​​environmental education of 10 of the activity books. As a result of the analysis, the topic of life showed a high frequency of occurrence in the order of the theme of ‘Springㆍsummerㆍfallㆍwinter’, ‘Environment and living’, and ‘Plants, animals and natural’. The type of activity, showed a high frequency of occurrence in the activity of ‘Free choice activities’, and ‘Storytelling’. In the region of ​​‘Artificial environment’ and ‘Natural environment’, it has been analyzed that indicate the occurrence of high frequency of environment-related educational content.
