        비용모델과 측정(Cost Model and Estimation)은 모든 DBMS에서 성능 측정을 하기 위한 기본적인 도구이다. 지금까지의 질의 수행에 대한 비용모델을 제시하는 연구가 많이 있었지만 대부분의 연구가 특정 부분에 대한 비용-CPU비용, 색인 방법에 대한 I/O횟수, I/O비용 등-만을 고려함으로써 질의를 수행하는데 필요한 전체적인 비용을 산출하는데 부족한 점이 있었다. 그리고 병렬 공간 DBMS에 대한 비용모델을 산출하는 연구가 아직까지 이루어지지 않았다. 이 논문에서는 병렬 공간 DBMS에서 질의를 처리하는데 드는 전체적인 비용을 산출하고 있다. 기존의 연구에서 제시하고 있는 비용모델을 적용하고, 병렬 컴퓨터와 공간 데이터가 결합되었을 때의 고려사항을 추가하여 병렬 공간 DBMS에 적합한 전체적인 비용모델을 산출함으로써 병렬 공간 DBMS에서의 효율적인 질의수행에 대한 다른 연구를 수행할 때 비용모델에 대한 초석을 제공한다.

      • 육자배기의 선율구조에 관한 연구

        YukJaBaeGi is well known as a representative of NamDoMinYo(a folk song sung in southern area of Korea) and has unique MiBunEum and SiGimSae. This research compares and analyzes the various music with its emphasis on JaJinYukJaBaeGi rather than GinYukJaBaeGi, two streams of YukJaBaeGi, We found several characteristics based on the analysis on eight kinds of YukJaBaeGi materials. First, YukJaBaeGi progresses with certain melody forms. Out of 57 JangDan, [melody form 1] has 12 JangDan, [melody form 2] has 17 JangDan, [melody form 3] has 17 JangDan, and the rest 11 JangDan show various other forms. Therefore, the melody of YukJaBaeGi can be roughly divided into 3 forms, and each material has different number of JangDan. Considering 6 Bak as 1 Gak, 4 Gak as 1 JangDan, and 3 JangDan as 1 Jeol, we found that the 5 materials have the same JangDanTeul, of which 1 Jeol consists of 3 JangDan. However, the rest 3 materials show Jeol, which consists of 2 or 4 JangDan. In addition, YukJaBaeGi in 『Tree with deep root』 and 『Korean music volume 4』, and 『YukJaBaeGi of IHwaJungSeon』 have JangDan which has 2 or 3 Gak rather than 4 Gak. We think the difference of singers and words resulted in such different structures of JangDan in each material. It is similar to SanJo where the performers play slightly differently, make and set up their own "Ryu" in the end. This characteristic also appears in Pansori, and it is one of the factors of Korea music which promotes autonomy and creativity. Accordingly, we could find that YuJaBaeGi could be different based on the person who sings and the words it has and is not always the same. Secondly, YukJaBaeGi follows the scale of GaeMyeonJo, g, b, c, d, e b, f. Most of the JongJiEum of each JangDan is g scale, and the JongJiEum of each Jeol with burden is c scale. We noticed an unusual fact that the end scale of Gak which is right before the c scale, the JongJiEum of each Jeol, is almost always g scale. We found that in most of the melody 1 Jeol consists of 3 JangDan from the fact that 1 Jeol with 3 JangDan are 16 cases, 1 Jeol with 2 JangDan are 5 cases, and 1 Jeol with 4 JangDan are 2 cases, out of the total melodies we analyzed. Further studies on Korean folk songs including YukJaBaeGi should be made from new research aspects. Folk Songs reflect characteristic emotion of their original provinces and those can be found both in melodies and in words. However, researches to date seem to place too much emphasis only on melody or scale. Scholars of Korean language also actively do researches on folk songs and the genre of music literature has been formed showing the breadth and depth of the ongoing folk song research. Words of folk songs may be what attract the scholars. 『Study on Korean GaAk(music)』 written by a Korean language scholar, approaches the words through the musical analytic methods as good as those of music scholars. It means that the music with words such as folk songs have substantial value. In this respect, the researches on the correlation between melodies and words of folk songs should be thoroughly made.

        1형 양극성 장애 환자에서 리튬과 발프로산의 장기간 치료 효과에 대한 후향적 평가 : 2년 이상 치료받은 환자의 효과 비교

        Objectives Treatment response of bipolar disorders (BDs) to long-term mood stabilizers maintenance has not been well explored because of complicated clinical and treatment courses. This study aims at investigating long-term clinical response of BDs to lithium and/or valproate in a naturalistic setting of a tertiary-care university-affiliated hospital. Methods Subjects were 65 patients with bipolar I (BD-I) disorders who had been treated with lithium and/or valproate for more than two years at single bipolar disorder clinic. Long-term response to the best treatment based on treatment algorithms and the current clinical standard of care was retrospectively evaluated using the Alda Scale and the Clinical Global Impression Scale for use in bi-polar illness (CGI-BP). Patients were classified into full responder and partial/non responder groups based on the total score of the Alda Scale with the cut-off score generated from the frequentist mixture analysis of the authors' previous study. Results The mean duration of treatment with the index medication was 69.2 months. Baseline demographic and clinical characteristics were not different among three mood stabilizer groups (valproate, lithium, and combination groups). Twenty-one subjects were classified into full responder group (32.3%). Treatment response assessed by the Alda Scale and CGI-BP scores was not different between lithium and valproate groups. The Alda Scale scores were well correlated with the CGI-BP scores (p < 0.05). Conclusions One third of the patients showed a full response to the long-term lithium and/or valproate treatment in BD-I. The degree of response was similar between lithium and valproate groups.

        Botulinum Toxin type A injection Versus Lidocaine Injection for Myofascial Pain Involving upper Trapezius

        The purpose of this double-blind study was to evaluate clinical effects of botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) injection on myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) involving upper trapezius and compare with those of lidocaine injection. 21 patients presenting with active TrP1 and/or TrP2 in the upper trapezius over 6 months were selected for this study. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups; one group injected with BTX-A (15 unit of $Botox^{(R)}$ / 0.3 ml per trigger point (TrP)) and the other group injected with 0.5% lidocaine (0.3 ml /TrP). The clinical effects were evaluated by VAS and PPT at baseline, 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks after treatment. BTX-A group showed persistent decrease of VAS values and increase of PPT values following treatment. While there was no significant difference in VAS values between BTX-A and lidocaine groups (p=0.347), there was significant difference in PPT values after treatment between two groups (p=0.000). The subjects received BTX-A showed noticeable improvement in PPT values after treatment, suggesting more reliable effect of BTX-A injection compared with lidocaine injection. The results of this study support that the direct injection of BTX-A to a TrP is an effective and safe treatment for MPS involving upper trapezius.

        Recently, the need for Location-Based Services (LBS) has increased due to the development of mobile devices, such as PDAs, cellular phones and GPS. As a moving object database that stores and manages the positions of moving objects is the core technology of LBS, the scheme for maintaining the main memory DBMS to the server is necessary to store and process frequent reported positions of moving objects efficiently. However, previous works on a moving object database have studied mostly a disk based moving object index that is not guaranteed to work efficiently in the main memory DBMS because these indexes did not consider characteristics of the main memory. It is necessary to study the main memory index scheme for a moving object database. In this paper, we propose the main memory index scheme based on the R-tree for storing and processing positions of moving objects efficiently in the main memory DBMS. The proposed index scheme, which uses a growing node structure, prevents the splitting cost from increasing by delaying the node splitting when a node overflows. The proposed scheme also improves the search performance by using a MergeAndSplit policy for reducing overlaps between nodes and a LargeDomainNodeSplit policy for reducing a ratio of a domain size occupied by node`s MBRs. Our experiments show that the proposed index scheme outperforms the existing index scheme on the maximum 30% for range queries.

        아두이노를 이용한 스마트 LED 자전거 헬멧의 설계 및 구현

        최근 건강에 대한 관심 증대로 인해 레저 및 교통수단으로 사이클링을 즐기는 인구가 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 자전거 이용자 급증으로 자전거 안전사고도 함께 증가하여 사회 문제로 대두되는 상황에 착안하여 사이클링 시에 사고를 미연에 방지하기 위한 자전거 헬멧을 제작한다. 이를 위한 기본 아이디어는 헬멧에 LED를 부착 후 LED 발광상태를 변경함으로써 주변에 자전거의 주행 방향 및 상태를 실시간으로 알려주는 것이다. LED의 상태는 아두이노 보드를 통하여 제어하며, 자전거의 움직임 정보는 스마트폰의 가속도 및 GPS 센서값을 추출하여 표현된다. 스마트폰에서 아두이노로 자전거 움직임 정보를 전송하기 위해 아두이노 보드에 별도의 블루투스 모듈을 부착하고 스마트폰과 연결을 유지한다. The number of cyclists is on the steady growing for leisure and transportation with the increasing interest in health and environment. However, the number of cycling accidents is also increasing steadily due to the lack of safety awareness and regulations. Focusing on this issue, we propose and develop a smart LED bicycle helmet in order to reduce a risk of cycling accident. The main idea is to change status of the LED on the helmet based on the bicycle's movement and provide motion information of the bicycle for others. To control the LED lights on the helmet, we use the Arduino board which communicates with the LED module through serial connection. We decide motion information by using the values from acceleration and GPS sensors of the smartphone. To receive this information from the smartphone, the control board and the smartphone are connected by Bluetooth.
