This study is about the existing state of the conversion of music from Classic Chinese poetry and Ci poetry to modern songs. The correlation between Chinese literature and music is studied using the method of comparative literature on this paper. Beginning from Shi jing(詩經) and Chu ci(楚辭), the tradition of Chinese poetry has achieved the most dominant position in Chinese culture through the present day and is having a great effect on Chinese socioculture today. In this respect, the actual condition of the conversion of music from Classic Chinese poetry and Ci poetry to modern songs has been made up pretty high. Specially these days we can see Chinese popular singers are creating new modern popular music writing the lyrics with Song Ci poetry. Many works of Classic Chinese poetry and Ci poetry were created into modern lyrical songs, chorus, or revolutionary songs about 1940s, since 1920s. There are two cases on this happening, one is the music to be created on the base of Classic Chinese poetry and the other is the music to be created on the base of Chinese Tang Song Ci(唐宋詞). In the case of the former, there are ‘Jian Jia(蒹葭)’, ‘Lu ming(鹿鳴)’ and etc. in Shi jing and the symphonic poem, ‘the Flow of the Guluo river(汨罗沉流)’ which is made in memory of the decease of Qu Yuan(屈原). Also there are many cases of the conversion of music with the works of Li bai(李白) who wrote the best poetry among poets of his time. In the case of the latter, the representative works had the conversion of music such as the ones of Su Shi(蘇軾), Yue Fei(岳飛), Li Qing Zhao(李淸照), Jiang Kui(姜虁), and etc. mostly. This existing state of the conversion of music from Classic Chinese poetry and Ci poetry to modern songs is happening because the musical character of poetry and Ci poetry have the affinity that makes it easy to be the conversion of music and because they have the outstanding familiarity with the audience when the poetry and Ci poetry in familiar to the readers become the conversion of music. Through the mutual correlation between this literature and music, we can understand literature refreshingly and comprehend the phenomenon of diffusion in the popular culture of literature.

西西의 『我城』에 나타난 홍콩서사와 동화적 상상력

This essay analyzes a story of Wocheng(我城), written by famous writer Xixi(西西). Xixi won a prize of World Chinese Literature Award and emphasized Hong Kong consciousness. Xixi expressed city life and culture well through her novels after 1970. This essay analyzes Hong Kong consciousness and main features in Xixi's Wocheng. This essay consists of 6 chapters. First chapter is introduction. This leads us to see Xixi's improvement in her writing story and creation of writing. The second chapter is the main story of this essay. It mainly describes Hong Kong peoples' consciousness regarding city life and culture. Wocheng represents Hong Kong peoples' mentality by well describing Hong Kong city. In addition, the story shows how Hong Kong has been developed through the protagonist, Aguo's view. The third chapter analyzes a children's point of view and writing style in this story. Looking at things from a children's point of view is very important in this novel. City culture and life is expressed from a children's point of view, especially through imagination and fantasy. Finally, we arrives several conclusions by analyzing this novel. First, Xixi's novel well contains economic development and civilization of Hong Kong after 70s. Second, this novel represents mentality and consciousness regarding Hong Kong city people. Third, the writer's consciousness of Hong Kong is represented. We hope to see continuous study on Hong Kong culture though novels in the future.

This paper focuses on folk culture portrayed in Chinese modern novels. Among the work of chinese modern novels, the representative pieces of Xiao Hong and Shen Congwen were chosen for analysis. This paper takes on a comparative cultural approach to review the aspects and meaning of folk culture shown in their literature. Through analysing folk culture in Chinese modern novels, this paper shows each novelist portray different tradition and folk culture by writers' own thematic consciousness. In Xiao Hong's novel she mostly introduce traditional custom of childhood hometown ‘Hulan river’, and critically examine the custom of 'a girl who is brought' and shaman. At the same time she serenely describes world of fairy-tale and criticizes conventional thinking of people at the time. In Shen Congwen's novel, he mainly describes Dano, Chuseok, New Year's Day among traditional custom in the background which is a small village in Hunan. On the background of Dano day, the tragic love story between Cuicui and two men, Tianbao, and Nuosong is depicted, and through which it shows woman's life in feudal society and beautiful nature and character. Through this study of folk culture in Chinese modern literature, we can understand cultural identity of Chinese people and also it can be a opportunity to consider our own culture by reviewing other culture. In conclusion, the comparative study on Chinese folk culture of Chinese modern literature is the research of main problems of folklore and the review of traditional culture, also is humanities that seek for a harmonious coexistence between man and nature. Through comparative study of literature and folklore we might newly understand Chinese culture and find identity of Chinese ethnic culture.

와리쓰 눠간(瓦歷斯․諾幹)의 ≪그리운 부족(想念族人)≫에 나타난 종족 상상과 원주민 정체성

This paper is a study of the poetry of Walis Nokan, an Aboriginal writer of Taiwan's atayal tribe. In this paper, we analyzed the concept and definition of Aboriginal literature, the criticism of ethnic imagination and reality of the atayal tribe, the historical memory of atayal tribe and the identity of Aboriginal people, focusing on Walis Nokan's poetry ≪Missing My People(想念族人)≫. Aboriginal literature in Taiwan began in the late 1980s and began to create literary works in Chinese. Through their literary creation, they reflected the repression and discrimination of minority ethnic groups in Taiwan society. Walis Nokan is a member of the atayal tribe, a native of Taiwan, who is a creator of Aboriginal literature, an Aboriginal cultural critic, and an Aboriginal grassroots activist. Above all, Walis Nokan plays a critical role in the social reality of his family and races through various imaginations and rituals. They are criticizing the unequal social reality in which minority peoples are becoming tourist products in industrialization and modernization, while symbolizing various realistic critical poetry about their families and tribes and illuminating the reality of the atayal’s villages. In the poem of Walis Nokan, you can find out the phenomenon that you can look at the atayal's own language and lifestyle. Among the lifestyles of the atayal tribe, they reflect various cultural phenomena such as hunting, sword, face tattoos, rituals about birth and death, naming of lanterns, naming of longevity, and the culture of karaoke by industrialization and urbanization. In addition, in the poem of Walis Nokan, we can find works that illuminate past history memories and mental trauma through illuminating the Wushe(霧社) incident, which can be called anti-Japanese resistance movement of Taiwan minority people. It has a historical mission to recover the historical identity and cultural identity of the indigenous people with the intention of forever remembering their pride and indomitability as their indigenous people through poetry and prose creation on this case. In conclusion, the Aboriginal literature of Walis Nokan has a new literary position and meaning in the new literature history of Taiwan. Through his literary creation, he greatly improved the status of Aboriginal society and literature in Taiwan by illuminating the life and culture of indigenous people. When he discovered his identity as an indigenous person among the atayal tribe, he continued his Taiwanese Aboriginal movement while maintaining the cultural identity of the Taiwan.
