        The Effect of Adding Novel Attributes to Hedonic vs. Utilitarian Base: Role of Holistic vs. Analytic Thinking Style

        Combining theories of the goal-derived product evaluation and holistic versus analytic thinking style, the authors investigate the effects of adding novel attributes on new product evaluation. While one may predict that adding novel attributes may be appealing to consumers as it provides new benefits, the authors propose that, in some cases, it may not. The current research investigates consumers’ view of new attribute addition depends on the novel attribute’s goal congruence with the consumption goals of the base product, which may be hedonic or utilitarian in nature. Further, consumers’ holistic versus analytic thinking style moderates the effect of such goal congruence. Study 1 examines the asymmetric evaluation towards new products when a goal-incongruent (vs. congruent) attribute is added to either a hedonic or a utilitarian base product. When the base product is hedonic (vs. utilitarian) by nature, consumers show lower evaluations for new products with the addition of goal-incongruent (utilitarian) attributes compared with the addition of goal-congruent (hedonic) attributes. Study 2 examines the moderating role of thinking style. The results indicate that in promoting products with novel goal-incongruent (vs. congruent) attributes, using a holistic thinking style effectively increases product evaluations compared with using an analytic thinking style. Study 3 replicates studies 1 and 2 to prove the generalizability of the effects by using different stimuli. These findings have implications for new product positioning and promotion strategies.

        지속가능하고 회복력 있는 도시개발 및 관리 평가지표:

        In this study, we developed evaluation items and indicators for the development and management of sustainable and resilient city and analyzed their importance. The items and indicators were revised and supplemented based on UN Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs, goal 11: make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable). The 9 of items and 31 of indicators were deducted by focus group interview(FGI) and their relative weights were analyzed by analytic hierarchy process(AHP) with experts survey. Among the items, importance of infrastructure, residence, and transportation were highly evaluated. As for the indicators, importance of public transportation ratio was the highest. In conclusion, plan factors that could make visible achievements (e.g., construction of infrastructures) or policy implementation, are significant for the development and management of sustainable and resilient city. Moreover, reduction of various social costs by increasing public transportation ratio could be a proper option for the goals.

        자가적응형 시스템을 위한 목표 시나리오 기반 예측 분석

        효율적인 예측 분석을 위해서는 문제를 스스로 인식하고 진단하여 시스템이 자율적으로 복구가 가능한 자가 치유 연구가 필요하다. 그러나, 소프트웨어를 개발하는데 있어서 외부상황에 따른 정형화된 컨텍스트 정보 분석 및 적절한 표현 구조를 제시하지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 목표 시나리오를 기반으로 행위 요소, 데이터, 트랜잭션이 가능한 기능들에 대해 추출 규칙을 적용하여 변경 내용에 따른 예측 분석 방법을 제안한다. 그리고, 요구사항 목표 달성을 위한 성과지표를 통해 예측 분석 내용이 얼마나 부합되었는지 평가하였다. 제안한 방법이 기존 방법들에 비해 성과측정을 통한 부합 결과는 최고 32.8% 높았고, 이에 따른 오차율은 28.9%, 변경 코드는 최고 45.8%가 감소되었다. 이는 목표 시나리오 기반 컨텍스트 규칙을 통해 서비스 가능한 형태로 가공할 수 있음을 보여주며, 문제 발생에 대한 변경 내용을 예측 분석을 통한 성능의 확장이 가능함을 보여준다. For efficient predictive analysis, self-healing research is needed that enables the system to recover autonomously by self-cognition and diagnosing system problems. However, software development does not provide formal contextual information analysis and appropriate presentation structure according to external situation. In this paper, we propose a prediction analysis method based on the change contents by applying the extraction rule to the functions that can act, data, and transaction based on the new Goal-scenario. We also evaluated how well the predictive analysis met through the performance indicators for achieving the requirements goal. Compared with the existing methods, the proposed method has a maximum 32.8% higher matching result through performance measurement, resulting in a 28.9% error rate and a 45.8% reduction in the change code. This shows that it can be processed into a serviceable form through rules, and it shows that performance can be expanded through predictive analysis of changes.

        The Significance of the Analytical Sciences In Environmental Assessment

        The quality of human life is directly related to the quality of the environment. To assess environmental quality we must first determine the MCLG(Maximum Contaminant Level Goal), MCL(Maximum Contaminant Level), environmental impact and so on. The MCLG is the concentration at which no known adverse health effects occur. The MCLG is determined by risk assessment identifying which process is hazardous assessing, dose-response, human exposure, and characteristics of risk. With consideration of analytical methods, treatment technology, cost and regulatory impact, the MCL is set as close to the MCLG as possible. In this way, determination of the concentration and national distribution of contaminants is important for assessment of environmental quality The analytical sciences pose potential problems in assessing environmental quality. Continuing improvement in the performance of analytical instruments and operating technique has been lowering the limits of detectability. Contaminant concentration below the detection limit has usually been reported as ND(Not-Detected) and this has often been misunderstood as equivalent to zero. Because of this, more the contaminant concentration in the past was below the detection limit, whereas contaminants can be quantified now even though the contaminant concentration might remain the same or may even have decreased. In addition, environmental sampling has various components due to heterogeneous matrices. These samples are used to overestimate the concentration of the contaminant due to large variability, resulting in excess readings for MCL. In this paper, the significance of the analytical sciences is emphasized in both a conceptual and a technical approach to environmental assessment.

        신규투자사업 타당성검토 종합판단기준의 개발 : 지방공기업 사례를 중심으로

        In this study, we develop a model that synthesizes the various criteria of feasibility studies by using an AHP rating approach and goal programming. The suggested AHP model structure consists of two levels of criteria and seven classes for each of the second-level criteria. To develop the model, we take 82 samples of feasibility study results conducted by the Evaluation Institute of Regional Public Corporation. The first-level criteria consist of the major judgement criteria and the basic judgement criteria, and the weights are set with the rank order centroid (ROC) method. The second-level criteria consist of economic, financial, and political analyses (the lower levels of the major judgement criteria) and development environments and review plans (the lower levels of the basic judgement criteria). For the second-level criteria, the weights are set by pairwise comparisons and ROC. We employ goal programming to set the weights of the seven classes of the grade. The performance of the model developed in this study is high with 81.82% sensitivity and 80.49% accuracy. The model can serve as an alternative index to complement current qualitative methods and synthesize feasibility results to enhance objectivity and support rapid decision making.

      • Interval-valued Analytic Network Process and its Application in Risk Assessment of Dynamic Alliance

        Analytic Network Process (ANP) has been widely used in solving many complicated decision making problems. An approach to acquire the comprehensive weights of interval-valued Analytic Network Process (IV-ANP) is proposed. Firstly, the independent local interval-valued weights are obtained by solving the goal programming for interval-valued pairwise comparison matrices. Based on the interaction and feedback relationships among criteria and/or indices, an unweighted interval-valued supermatrix is formed. To avoid loss of information, an extreme value method is developed for acquiring the global weights of IV-ANP. Secondly, the alternatives are ranked on the basis of interval-valued preference order. Finally, with the interaction and feedback relationships between criteria and/or indices being considered, an index system for assessing the risk of dynamic alliance is presented. With the uncertain and inaccurate information during the evaluation process being considered, the proposed IV-ANP method is applied for risk assessment of dynamic alliance, and sensitivity analyses for some key risk factors are performed to show their impacts on the risk levels of alliance enterprises.

        식량안보 중심의 신흥안보와 지속가능발전목표(SDGs) 간 연계성 분석

        This study used the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to analyze the relationship between emerging security and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically focusing on food security. Assuming that emerging security, characterized by its comprehensive and transnational features, intersects with the SDGs, a AHP was conducted to evaluate “the degree of influence between types of emerging security,” “the importance of emerging security and SDGs,” and “the connection between food security and SDG targets.” In the results, environmental security emerged as the most influential factor for food security, followed by energy security and health security. Conversely, food security had the most significant impact on health security. The study emphasized the transitive characteristics of emerging security, where crises in one domain can trigger crises in others. Based on the analysis results, it is crucial to proactively manage and understand the objectives for strengthening food security. Establishing an interconnected “environment-food-health security nexus” is necessary to enhance a comprehensive and integrated security approach centered around food security. Therefore, strengthening emerging security and crisis management based on food security can be seen as an important context for achieving goals such as sustainable agriculture and poverty eradication. 본 연구는 계층화 분석법(AHP)을 이용하여 하나의 위기 요인이 다른 위기로 확산하는 신흥안보(emerging security)의 전이효과를 식량안보 중심으로 분석하였다. 또한, 신흥안보는 포괄적⋅거시적⋅초국가적 특징을 갖는다는 점에서 국제사회가 인류의 발전 목표로 설정한 UN 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)와 많은 접점을 가지고 있다고 가정하여 ‘신흥안보 유형 간 영향정도’, ‘신흥안보와 SDGs의 중요도’, ‘식량안보와 SDGs 세부 목표와의 연계성’으로 평가하였다. 전문가 설문 결과, 식량안보는 환경안보, 경제안보, 보건안보, 에너지안보, 신기술안보 순으로 연계성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 식량안보는 환경안보, 에너지안보, 보건안보 순으로 영향을 많이 받고, 보건안보, 환경안보, 에너지안보 순으로 영향을 많이 주는 것으로 평가되었다. 즉, 식량안보는 환경안보에 가장 큰 영향을 받고, 보건안보에 가장큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 신흥안보는 특정 안보 이슈가 그 임계점을 초과하면 다른 안보의 위기로 파급되는 특징을 갖는다는 점에서, ‘환경안보 위기→식량안보 위기→보건안보 위기’로 이어질 수 있는 신흥안보의‘전이성(transition)’을 밝혔다. 분석 결과를 기초로 식량안보 강화를 위해선제적으로 관리해야 하는 목표를 인지하고, ‘환경-식량-보건안보 넥서스’ 구축을 통해 식량안보 중심의 전⋅후방 연계 안보를 강화해야 한다. 따라서 식량안보 기반의 신흥안보 강화 혹은 위기관리를 곧 SDGs 달성을 통한지속가능한 농업 및 빈곤 퇴치와 같은 맥락으로 볼 수 있다.

        An integrated framework of security tool selection using fuzzy regression and physical programming

        근거리통신망과 인터넷으로부터 유입되는 정보보호 위협이 증가하는 상황에 대처하기 위하여, 많은 기업들이 정보보호 시스템 구축을 고려하고 있다. 기업 내 의사결정자의 정보보호 도구 선택을 지원하기 위하여, 본 논문은 선형퍼지회귀분석 및 physical programming을 이용하는 세 가지 단계로 구성된 통합 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 첫째, 정보보호도구 선정 기준 및 평가 기준에 대한 전문가들의 상대평가 의견을 바탕으로, 각 정보보호 기준들 간의 관계를 정량화시키기 위하여 analytic hierarchy process 및 quality function deployment 방법을 적용하였다. 그리고, 선형퍼지회귀분석법을 활용하여 각 기준별 평가값을 산출하였다. 마지막으로, 정보보호 시스템의 품질, 정보보호 수준, 비용 등의 다수 목적함수를 효과적으로 고려하기 위하여, physical programming weights 알고리즘을 통하여 도출된 가중치에 기반한 목표계획법을 활용하여 가장 적절한 정보보호 도구를 선정하였다. 이와 같은 과정은 구체적인 예제를 통해 단계별로 설명하고 그 장점을 가시적으로 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 방법은 전문가 제공 정보에서 발생 가능한 노이즈를 효과적으로 제거함으로써, 전문가의 경험을 통한 표준 정보보호 기준의 확보와 수학적 최적화 방법을 통한 정확성 확보의 장점을 의사결정자에게 제공할 것으로 기대된다. Faced with an increase of malicious threats from the Internet as well as local area networks, many companies are considering deploying a security system. To help a decision maker select a suitable security tool, this paper proposed a three-step integrated framework using linear fuzzy regression (LFR) and physical programming (PP). First, based on the experts' estimations on security criteria, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and quality function deployment (QFD) are employed to specify an intermediate score for each criterion and the relationship among these criteria. Next, evaluation value of each criterion is computed by using LFR. Finally, a goal programming (GP) method is customized to obtain the most appropriate security tool for an organization, considering a tradeoff among the multi-objectives associated with quality, credibility and costs, utilizing the relative weights calculated by the physical programming weights (PPW) algorithm. A numerical example provided illustrates the advantages and contributions of this approach. Proposed approach is anticipated to help a decision maker select a suitable security tool by taking advantage of experts' experience, with noises eliminated, as well as the accuracy of mathematical optimization methods.

        Study on Prioritizing the countries for BOT nuclear power project using Analytic Hierarchy Process

        Developing Build-Own (or Operate)-Transfer (BOT) nuclear power project carrying large capital in the long term requires initially well-made multi-decision which it prevents sorts of risks from unexpected situation of target countries. In order to analyze the feasibility of project country, the Analytic Hierarchy Process is adopted. Firstly, the factors influencing the success of BOT nuclear power project in overseas countries were investigated through the literature survey for the country risk and were evaluated by expert interview for estimating comparative weight through pairwise comparison between such factors. Finally, it is developed comparative database of alternate countries with respect to each factor. This analytic method enables the developer to select and focus on the country which has preferable circumstance so that it enhances the efficiency of the project promotion. Also, it enables the developer to quantify the qualitative factors so that it diversifies the project success strategy and policy for the target country.
