        노인보호구역의 보행환경요소 분석

        (Background and Purpose) As the average life expectancy increases due to economic growth and the development of medical technology, the elderly population is increasing. Although this study designates and implements protection zones for the elderly to reduce walking accidents, the number of elderly walking accidents is steadily increasing. In this study, with the aim of improving the walking environment suitable for the elderly in order to reduce pedestrian accidents, the objective of this study was to suggest a direction for improvement of problems through theoretical considerations of the elements of the walking environment and the walking environment for the elderly and field surveys of the elderly protection area. In this study, the elements of the walking environment are derived through previous studies related to the walking environment and walking for the elderly. Based on the contents considered through previous studies, a checklist of walking elements in the elderly protection area is derived, and based on this, the elderly protection area is surveyed, analyzed, and conclusions are drawn. (Results) As a result of evaluating the six elderly protection areas, the surrounding exterior was the best, followed by sidewalk environment, street facilities, and road environment. The installation of sidewalk benches for street facilities was insufficient. Since the installation of benches serves to provide the elderly with a rest while walking, it will be necessary to provide benches on the sidewalk or to install facilities where they can sit on the sidewalk. In the case of road environment, the installation of speed cameras were insufficient. Speeding vehicles are fatal to pedestrians and can lead to pedestrian accidents. Therefore, speed reduction facilities and speed cameras should be installed. (Conclusions) In the past, several studies related to walking environment for the elderly have been conducted, but there are few studies that evaluated the walking environment focused on the elderly protection area. This study can be expected that it will be used as a useful basic data when implementing the elderly protection zone. Therefore, in future studies, it is necessary to evaluate the walking environment by increasing the number of case subjects, and it is possible to contribute to creating a better environment for the elderly protection area by supplementing the evaluation method by directly interviewing the elderly walking in the elderly protection environment.

        보행환경수준의 평가방법 개발

        While much attention has been given to pedestrian environments recently, methods to evaluate their service level have not been fully developed yet. Although many kinds of pedestrian environment-related surveys and field studies are conducted, data are not systematically collected and accumulated due to the lack of consistent evaluation tools and methods. In this regard, it is necessary to develop reasonable evaluation methods for pedestrian environments. This paper suggests technical indices to evaluate pedestrian environments for a city. These indices provide useful ways to determine priorities to enhance pedestrian streets and also provide ways to compare cross sectional and time series changes of pedestrian environments. These indices therefore can be used as criteria for pedestrian environment planning and policy. 근래에 보행환경에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있지만 보행환경의 수준에 대한 평가를 위한 기법이 통일되지 않아 도시간 비교 또는 도시 내 시계열적 비교를 할 수 있는 방법이 제한되어 있다. 또한 보행환경에 대한 각종 조사는 시행되고 있지만 조사기법이 다양하여 자료의 축적이 되고 있지 못하기 때문에 보행환경에 대한 평가기법과 조사방법을 통일하여 보행환경계획의 체계를 갖출 필요성이 높다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 이 연구에서는 보행환경수준을 평가할 수 있는 지표를 개발하였으며 더불어 이동편의지수 산정방안을 제시하였다. 개발된 지표와 이동편이지수는 사례지역 조사를 통하여 산정방안과 활용방안을 검증하였다. 이들 지표와 이동편의 지수는 상호 연계되어 도시 내 보행환경수준의 평가를 통하여 보행환경개선 우선가로를 선정하는데 유효한 방법이 된다. 또한 전국 도시간 비교와 도시별 시계열 비교가 가능한 수치를 제공함으로써 보행환경관련 도시 및 교통 계획의 목표치의 설정을 위한 주요 지표 역할을 할 수 있다.

        Grey System Theory를 이용한 차량 및 보행환경 통합평가

        In this paper, understanding there is a limitation with a comprehensive and network approach for the evaluation of existing vehicle and pedestrian environments, the authors focus on developing an integrated approach to assessing these environments. The network evaluation here means the assessment at a three- dimensional level that includes evaluation methods of lines/axes in a spatial concept as well as integration of evaluation indicators being used for vehicles and the walking environment. Grey System Theory (GST) was applied based on the theoretical background for network and comprehensive integrated evaluation, and the evaluation of the vehicle and pedestrian environment was performed by assigning target areas to walking preference zones. As a result of the comprehensive evaluation and analysis by GST, even if the service level is the same as the operating indicators (Highway Capacity Manual) of the vehicle and pedestrian environment, or relatively better, it was identified that the total score could be varied over Grey Category because the observed data are calculated after considering the weights between evaluation indicators by the range of Grey Category on the comprehensive evaluation. Considering comprehensively these points, although the indicators on the operation of roads are relatively good, in the event that the indicators on the safety of roads are bad, it was known that the scores over Grey Category also could be changed. The result is that this evaluation method can be used to evaluate the network concept per lane (per axis) as well as to diagnose the current state by type of urban street in the future. 본 연구에서는 기존의 차량 및 보행환경의 평가에 있어서 종합적이고 통합적인 접근방식에 한계가 있다고 진단하고, 이를 고려하는 평가 방법 개발에 중점을 두었다. 여기에서의 통합적인 평가라 함은 차량환경과 보행환경에서 쓰이고 있는 수단별 평가지표에 대한 통합과 더불어, 공간적 개념에서 선/축의 평가방식을 포함한 면적인 차원의 평가라 할 수 있겠다. 본 연구에서는 통합 평가를 위한 이론적 배경으로 Grey System Theory(GST)를 적용하였으며, 대상지역은 보행우선구역 시범사업지로 하여 차량 및 보행환경에 대한 평가를 수행하였다. GST에 의한 종합평가 및 분석결과, 같은 서비스 수준 또는 상대적으로 차량 및 보행환경의 운영지표상(도로용량편람)에서는 보다 양호한 상태라 할지라도 관측된 데이터가 Grey Category 범위에 따라 통합평가 시에는 평가지표간 가중치 등이 고려되어 산정되었기에 Category 상에서의 종합점수는 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 점을 종합적으로 고려해 볼 때, 도로운영상의 지표들이 상대적으로 좋다고 하더라도 안전상의 지표들이 나쁠 경우에는 그에 따라 Grey Category상의 점수들도 변화하는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 본 평가 방법을 통해 향후 도시가로 형태별로 현재 상태를 진단할 뿐 아니라 노선별(축별), 면적인 개념에서의 평가와 더불어 평가지표간 통합평가가 이루어 질 것으로 기대하고 있다.

        노인보호구역의 보행환경 평가지표 선정 및 적용 - 대구광역시를 남구를 대상으로

        This study aims to select indicators for evaluating the pedestrian environment in Silver Zones and apply them to the Silver Zones in Nam-gu, Daegu. For this, four evaluation items (safety, accessibility, comfort, convenience) and 24 factors were selected. The study was conducted through GIS and field survey. As a result, it was found that the Jungdong Bridge Gateball Stadium had an excellent pedestrian environment in safety, comfort, and convenience, but Nam-gu Social Welfare Center was needed to improve the pedestrian environment in all three evaluation items. Meanwhile, in the cases of Nam-gu Social Welfare Center and Myeong-dong Children's Park, poor pedestrian environments were created despite the large number of elderly people living within a radius of 300m from the designated facilities. The study is meaningful in that it pointed out the necessity of pedestrian environment improvement in Silver Zones based on the evaluation.

        보행특별시 구축을 위한 서울 지하철역 지하출입구 배치유형에 따른 보행환경 평가

        In these days, pedestrian safety and convenience are emphasized and valued. People are also increasingly concerned about the pedestrian environment. Pedestrian is one of the important elements of the urban transportation system and has close connection with various means of transportation. Public transportation facilities such as bus stops and subway stations are mainly installed around sidewalks adjacent to roads to ensure the convenience of users’ movement. In particular, subway stations are important spaces in which pedestrians’ passages generated from spaces for various purposes cross in various purposes and directions. The surrounding population is dense and the pedestrian environment is relatively complex. The purpose of this study is to examine the various arrangement types and characteristics of the underground entrances of subway stations located in the pilot area of the pedestrian environment improvement district based on the evaluation index of pedestrian environment, and to evaluate the surrounding pedestrian environment. In addition, We also present the issues that need to be considered in order to establish a comfortable and attractive pedestrian environment that will be pursued in the “Pedestrian City Seoul” plan to be carried out in the future, as well as a plan for activation.

        보행친화성을 적용한 택지개발지구의 보행환경 평가: 대구 율하2지구를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to examine how good the actual walking environment is in the Daegu Yulha 2 district, a housing development district that applies pedestrian friendliness. This study covers the Daegu Yulha 2 district, which considers pedestrian friendliness from the planning stage, and compares the walking environment with the Daegu Jisan district, which has similar geographical and environmental characteristics. For the evaluation of the walking environment, 20 factors in four categories of convenience, safety, comfort, and accessibility were selected, and the study was conducted using GIS analysis and field survey. As a result, Daegu Yulha 2 district has better walking environment than Daegu Jisan district in terms of convenience, safety, and comfort. Specifically, the factors of pedestrian-only road, park area, and distance to river were found to be particularly excellent. This study is significant in that it verifies whether the housing development site considering pedestrian friendliness in the planning state is actually pedestrian-friendly. In addition, this study has policy significance to suggest the need for future pedestrianfriendly housing development district projects. 본 연구는 보행친화성을 적용한 택지개발지구인 대구율하2지구가 실제 보행환경이 얼마나 양호한지를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 계획단계에서부터 보행친화를 감안한 대구율하2지구를 대상으로 여타 지리적·환경적 특성이 유사한 대구지산지구와의 보행환경을 비교분석하기로 한다. 이를 위해 크게 편의성, 안전성, 쾌적성, 접근성 4개부문의 20개 보행환경 평가요인을GIS 분석 및 현장조사를 활용하여 연구를 진행하였다. 분석결과, 대구율하2지구의경우, 접근성을 제외한 편의성, 안전성, 쾌적성 항목에서 대구지산지구에 비해 보행환경이 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 그중에서도 특히 보행자 전용도로 및 공원면적, 하천까지의 거리의 요인이 가장 우수한 수치를 나타내었다. 본 연구는계획단계에서 보행친화를 감안한 택지개발지구가 실제로 보행친화적인지를 검증한다는 것에서 학술적인 의의를 가진다. 또한, 향후 보행친화적 도시개발 사업 계획 수립의 필요성을 시사하는 차원에서 정책적 의의도 높다.

        Development of Evaluation Metrics for Pedestrian Flow Optimization in a Complex Service Environment Based on Behavior Observation Method

        In a service environment, the spatial layout is an important factor that has a great impact on customers' behavioral characteristics including wayfinding and purchasing. Previous studies have shown a gap between marketing, focusing solely on profitability and satisfaction, and architecture, looking only into efficiency of pedestrian flow. To balance such disparity, this study suggests an integrated approach for assessing behavioral patterns in complex service environments. With the objective that complex service environments should aim to increase its profitability and efficiency while guaranteeing customer satisfaction, quantitative metrics was developed for evaluation. The metrics was defined to use data from behavior observation including path tracking, population counting, and gaze analysis, while previous studies have relied on abstract survey methods that were prone to sampling errors and loss of data. For validation of the metrics in a real world setting, a case study was conducted at 4 train stations in Korea. In the case study, experiments were conducted to gather the required data in all 4 train stations, while their physical layouts were also analyzed. With the results from the case study, comparative evaluation of the 4 train stations in terms of behavioral efficiency was possible, together with a discussion on the effect of their physical settings.

        Integrated YOLO and CNN algorithms for Evaluating Degree of Walkway Breakage

        The focus of policymaking in Korea has changed from vehicle-centric road environments to people-centric environments. As the importance of walking has increased, the construction of pedestrian paths and interest in pedestrian environments have also increased. However, problem recognition and resolution require considerable time in the event of a problem in a pedestrian path. People with reduced mobility tend to resist changes in roads that they use. Thus, damaged pedestrian paths and obstacles pose a considerable risk and economic loss to transportation. In this study, we aimed to minimize the time and cost required for the evaluation of pedestrian paths by developing an automatic system for determining damage using integrated You Only Look Once (YOLO) and convolutional neural network (CNN) image deep learning algorithms. We constructed a model using image deep learning by dividing the steps into walkway breakage detection and score evaluation according to the degree of breakage. The accuracy of the model was determined to be 92%. In the future, the evaluation of pedestrian path damage is expected to be automated using images and videos, thereby reducing the time required for the detection and restoration of damage.

        계층분석법을 이용한 웹 기반 GIS 보행환경측정 시스템 개발

        본 연구의 목적은 보행 공간 특성에 따른 보행 환경 구성요소를 정량적 지표로 단순화 시킨 보행 지수를 개발하여, 도시 전체 가로는 물론 도시 내 근린 주거 단위의 전반적인 친 보행 환경 정도(쾌적성, 미관)와 보행자의 이동 편의성을 측정하고 이의 결과 시각화 할 수 있는 웹 기반 GIS 시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우선, 국내외 선행연구에서 GIS로 정량화 할 수 있는 지표를 반영하여 보행환경 평가가 가능한 지표를 개발하고 적용하였다. 또한, 평가지표 개발을 위해서는 계층분석법(AHP:Analytic Hierarchy Process)을 활용하였으며 GIS 웹 서비스 연동을 통해 연구 지역에 대한 보행환경 평가 결과를 가시화하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 측정 모형은 실제 물리적인 보행공간을 기반으로 가상의 시스템에 적용되어 보행 이동 패턴의 가시화, 보행 환경의 쾌적성과 편의성 평가, 예측에 활용될 수 있을 것이다. This paper aims to develop a web based GIS system which is able to evaluate and visualize the overall degree (in terms of pleasantness and aesthetics) of pedestrian friendliness of the environment, as well as pedestrians’ convenience through a Walkability Indicators that simplify pedestrian environment elements into a quantitative index in accordance with characteristics of pedestrian space. To make this goal come true, we developed and applied Walkability index which can measure the pedestrian environment through reflecting quantitative Indicators based on GIS supplementing the limit of Literature Review. In addition, in order to develop index we utilized AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and we displayed measurement result on study area through web GIS Services. The proposed pedestrian measurement system is expected to be applicable in the visualization of pedestrian movements and the evaluation of convenience levels of pedestrian environment.

      • 교통약자의 보행보조기 종류에 따른 보행환경 편의성 영향 요인 연구

        The purpose of this study was to conduct a survey on the Mobility handicapped people who use the walking aids to find out the difference inconvenience of the pedestrian environment experienced. In particular, established a system according to using walking aids people and conducted research on the disabled and the elderly, who are constantly using them. As a result, in the case of the mobility handicapped who use the walking stick, the factors that create a walking environment with a greater risk of slipping than the general road were inconvenient. In the case of the mobility handicapped who use strollers and adult walker, they said that the factors that create a walking environment where pedestrian aids cannot be properly controlled were inconvenient. In the case of the mobility handicapped using a wheelchair, the factors that create a walking environment that causes the risk of falls and the wheels of the wheelchair cannot move smoothly were the most inconvenient. The factors of the walking environment that they find uncomfortable with each walking aid were different. Therefore, the inconvenience caused by each walking aid should be considered when improving the walking environment.
