Lymphoid malignancies have been reported in association with chronic myelogenous leukemia, but the development of chronic myelogenous leukemia and T-cell lymphoma in the same patients is rare. We experienced a case of peripheral T-cell lymphoma developed in the course of chronic myelogenous leukemia. In December 1993, a diagnosis of chronic myelogenous leukemia was made. The patient was treated with hydroxyurea and busulphan. In June 1999, the patient was admitted because of a swelling in right submandibular area and throat pain. He underwent right tonsilectomy. The histologic and immunologic examination of tonsil revealed a peripheral T-cell lymphoma. This case is additional one to a few previously reported cases of concurrence of chronic myelogenous leukemia and T-cell lymphoma. (Korean J Med 61:444-448, 2001)

원발성 간세포암에서의 전신적 항암화학요법의 효과에 대한 연구는 많지 않으나, 그 성적이 매우 불량한 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나, 저자들은 원격전이가 있는 원발성 간세포암에서 doxorubicin과 cisplatin을 사용한 AP 복합화학요법으로 완전 관해에 가까운 좋은 반응을 보인 사례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. This study focuses on the BIM request for information(RFI) processing performance and quantitatively analyzes the performance of the BIM coordinator and the loss due to the waiting of the project participants. For these purposes, a method to quantitatively evaluate the performance of the BIM coordinator was proposed using a queueing model. For the verification, two projects in which BIM was applied in the construction phase were selected, and the BIM RFI data were collected through the analysis of the BIM monthly report and BIM coordinator work log of each project. In addition, the BIM input personnel, labor cost, and productivity data were collected through interviews with the experts of the case projects. The analysis of the BIM RFI processing performance of the BIM coordinator using the queueing model exhibited on a probabilistic basis that the waiting status of the project participants could vary depending on the preliminary BIM application to the design verification as well as the input number and level of the BIM coordinator personnel. In addition, the loss cost due to the waiting of the project participants was analyzed using the number of BIM RFIs waiting to be processed in the queueing system. Finally, the economic feasibility analysis for the optimal BIM coordinator input was performed considering the loss cost. The results of this study can be used to make decisions about the optimal BIM coordinator input and can provide grounds for the BIM return on investment (ROI) analysis considering the waiting cost of the project participants.

ABSTRACT: Recently increasing high-risk HPV+ OSCC exhibits unique clinical and molecular characteristics compared to HPV-unrelated (HPV−) counterpart. Genomic copy number variations (CNVs), unique in HPV+ OSCCs, and their role for the prognosis prediction remains poorly studied. Here, we analyzed the distinct genomic copy number variations (CNVs) in human papillomavirus-related (HPV+) oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and their role as a prognosticator after curative resection.For 58 consecutive, Korean OSCC patients that underwent surgery-based treatment with median 10 years of follow-up, HPV-related markers, and genome-wide CNV analysis were analyzed. Clinical associations between the CNV profile and survival analyses were followed.p16 expression predicted the overall survival (OS) (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.27, confidence interval [CI]: 0.39–0.80, P = 0.0006) better than HPV L1 PCR (HR = 0.83, CI: 0.66–1.29, P = 0.64), smoking, or other variables. Although the overall number of CNVs was not significantly different, 30 loci showed unique CNV patterns between the p16 and p16− groups. A region containing PRDM2 was amplified only in the p16 group, whereas EGFR and 11q13.3 showed increased amplification in p16− counterpart. Loss of a locus containing FGF18 led to a worse, but gain of region including CDK10 and RAD18 led to better overall survival (OS) in all OSCC patients. Meanwhile, subgroup analysis of p16 OSCC revealed that amplification of regions harboring HRAS and loss of locus bearing KDR led to better OS.p16 OSCC exhibit distinct CNV patterns compared with p16− counterpart. Specific patterns of CNVs predict better survival, especially in p16 OSCC. This might allow better insights of the outcome after curative resection for HPV+ and HPV− OSCC.
