        Scopolamine and hyoscyamine which belong to tropane alkaloids are the pharmaceutically valuable anticholinergic drugs. In order to increase the productivities, the effects of elicitation were investigated during hairy root cultures of Scopolia parviflora. Biotic elicitors originated from 3 fungi and 1 yeast were prepared as homogenate and supernatant and added to 3-week-old cultures. Both of homogenate and supernatant of Candida albicans elicitors increased the scopolamine production. The production of hyoscyamine was enhanced by homogenate of Fusarium solani and supematant of C. albicans. Most of the other fungal elicitors were also improved on the tropane alkaloid production compared to non-treatment. Among the elicitors tested, C. albicans was proved the optimal biotic elicitor on tropane alkaloids production. These results will be served mass production of tropane alkaloids by large-scale production.

        야뇨증 환아들의 심리사회적 특성에 대한 다기관 연구 : 행동 및 정서 문제를 중심으로

        Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the behavioral and emotional problems associated with nocturnal enuresis in Korean children. Methods : Three hundred eighteen children with nocturnal enuresis, together with their parents, completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Disruptive Behavior Disorder Scale according to DSM-IV (DBDS), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC), and Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale (PHCSC). Ninety-three normal students were selected as the control group. Results : Compared to the normal control group, the mean scores with regard to the withdrawn, social problems, attention problems, delinquent behavior, aggressive behavior, externalizing problems and total problems profiles were significantly higher in the nocturnal enuresis group according to the CBCL results. The nocturnal enuresis group also scored significantly higher in the ADHD and ODD profiles of the DBDS. The nocturnal enuresis group was more depressed and anxious than the control group according to the results of the CDI and STAI. The mean score of the PHCSC was significantly lower in the nocturnal enuresis group when compared to the normal control group. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest that children with nocturnal enuresis in Korea have clinically relevant behavioral and emotional problems. The findings support the link between nocturnal enuresis and psychopathology in Korean children.

      • 관해유도 항암화학요법에 실패한 호지킨병 환자에서 2회의 자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포이식 후 지연되어 완전 관해된 1예

        관해유도 항암화학요법에 실패한 호지킨병 환자에서 2회의 연속된 자가 조혈모세포이식은 하나의 치료 대안으로서 고려될 수 있다. 저자들은 진행된 호지킨병으로 진단된 뒤 기존 항암화학요법에 저항을 보여 자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포이식을 시행하였으나 여전히 부분 관해를 보였고, 재차 자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포이식을 시행하였으나 영상학적 검사에서 부분 관해에 머물렀던 환자가 조혈모세포 이식 3년 후 추적 검사에서는 완전 관해 소견을 보인 1예를 경험하여 이를 보고하는 바이다. The double autologous stem cell transplantation after high-dose therapy has been considered as a therapeutic chance for patients with refractory or relapsing Hodgkin's disease. We report here a 29-year-old patient with Hodgkin's disease (nodular sclerosis, Stage IVB), who was partially responsive to 6 cycles of conventional chemotherapy, achieved only partial remission despite double autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. However, long- term follow-up with 3 years after second stem cell transplantation, the persistently remained tumors on spleen, left ilium, and right scapular area disappeared spontaneously and now the patient has no evidence of disease. Compared with previously reported cases of long-lasting persistent evidences of unresolved disease after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation with subsequent complete response in other hematologic malignancies, an atypical pattern in this case with delayed complete response after autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has not been reported.

      • Pseudomonas sp. LBC505의 섬유소 분해효소 특성

        The Pseudomonas sp. LBC505 isolated from soil, produced cellulolytic enzymes such as carboxymethyl cellulase, avicelase, β-1,4-glucosidase, and xylanase in medium. The cellulase complex exhibited maximal activity at pH6.0-pH6.5, and 50-55℃, and was stable in the range of pH5.0 to 9.0 and up to 65℃ for 30min. The cellulase complex and xylanase activities were completely inhibited in the presense of 1mM HgCl₂ and 1mM AgCl₂. The enzyme activity was stimulated in the presense of 100mM mercaptoethanol, suggesting that sulfhydryl groups play an important role in the catalytic action. The crude cellulolytic enzyme hydrolyze CMC to produced glucose, maltose, maltotriose, maltotetraose, maltopentose and maltohexose by synergistic action of cellulase complex.

        지식경영의 성공요인 분석을 위한 탐색적 연구

        지식경영의 목표는 조직과 조직원들이 보유하고 있는 지식자원을 효과적으로 관리하고 최대한으로 활용함으로써 높은 경영성과를 실현, 지속적인 경쟁우위를 갖는 것에 있다. 최근 들어서 지식경영을 체계적으로 추진하고 있는 기업의 수효가 급격히 증가되고 있으나, 기대 했던 만큼의 효과를 발휘하지 못하고 있는 것이 현실이라 하겠다. 이는 많은 기업들이 새로운 지식창조가 단지 기계적으로만 처리되는 것이 아니라 조직 구성원 각자의 암묵적이고 주관적인 통찰력, 직관, 그리고 관념에 의해 개발됨을 인식하고 있지 못하므로 발생한다고 본다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지식경영을 성공적으로 수행하기 위하여 지식을 창출하고 유지하는 중요한 동인으로 개인의 분석적 능력이 중요하다고 보고, 개인의 분석적 능력을 신장하기 위한 요인을 살펴보기로 한다. 개인의 분석적 능력에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 조직문화, 추진전략, 정보기술활용, 그리고 평가와 보상 등의 요인들을 도출하였고, 추가적으로 개인적 분석적 능력이 지식창출과 지식경영성과에 미치는 영향도 탐색하였다.

        응급실에서의 확산강조 자기공명 영상

        Background: This study was designed to review the cases of patients who had undergone diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging(DWI) in the emergency department(ED), and to investigate its clinical usefulness and current indications. Methods: We analyzed the cases of 152 consecutive patients who underwent DWI in the ED from Jan to Mar 2001. DWI was obtained with the use of a multislice, single-shot, spin-echo plana imaging technique(GE SignaR). Imaging time was less than one minute. The medical records, the DWI films and the computed topography results were reviewed. We investigated the chief complaint, initial findings of physical examination, final diagnosis, decision-making department, interval from admission to imaging, and DWI findings. Results: DWI showed positive findings of high signal intensity in 84 patients(55.3%). Among the 68 patients who yielded a negative result, false negative occurred with 12 patients(17.6%): 10 lacunar infarctions, a pons infarction, and a brainstem infarction. Eleven patients were determined as having a cerebral hemorrhage, all of whom showed the abnormal finding of a mixed signal in DWI. The sensitivity and the specificity of DWI to rule out stroke were 85.5% and 98%, respectively. Current indications for DWI in our ED are age older than 60, alert mental status, and one of the symptoms or signs among lateralyzing sign, language disturbance, and dizziness/vertigo. Conclusion: DWI was highly specific to rule out stroke, so emergency care professionals should be familiar with this new technology. Further prospective study is required to determine the proper indications and clinical usefulness of DWI in the ED.

        Horseshoe Expander의 확장 효과에 관한 연구

        이 연구는 Horseshoe Expander를 이용하여 확장 전과 후의 악구강계의 변화를 분석하고자 시행되었다. 상악궁 확장이 필요한 것으로 진단된 37명을 연구자료로 사용하였다. 완만 상악골 확장술(SME)을 적용한 17명을 대상으로 연구 대상자의 정모 및 측모 두부 방사선 사진과 모형을 확장 전과 후로 채득하였다. 또한, 급속 상악골 확장장치 (RME)를 적용한 13명을 대상으로 확장 후의 치축각의 변화를 Horseshoe Expander군과 비교하였다. 이 자료를 계측, 통계 처리하여 분석한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1.정모 두부 방사전 규격사진 분석에서 양측 상악 중절치의 치근 및 절단연의 중앙점 사이의 거리, 상악 폭경, 비강 폭경이 유의성있는 증가를 보였고, 상하악 폭경은 감소를 보여 결국 삼각형 모양의 확장 양상을 나타냈다. 2.측모 두부 방사선 규격사진 분석에서 McNamara line에 대한 상악 중절치의 거리, 상악깊이, 상악 높이 항목이 증가를 나타냈다. 또한, FH평면에 대한 상악 중절치, 구개평면, 교합평면, 하악 평면의 각도가 증가를 나타냈으나, McNamara line에 대한 하악 중절치의 거리항목은 유의성이 없었다. 3.모형 분석에서, 구개용적, 상악 견치와 제1대구치의 폭경 및 상악궁 길이 항목이 유의성 있게 증가하였고, 교합 접촉점의 감소가 유의성을 나타냈다. 4.상악 제1대구치간 폭경변화(치성 변화)대 상악폭경변화(골격성 변화)가 약 2.2:1의 비율을 보였다. 5.Horseshoe Expander군과 급속 상악골 확장장치군(RME군)의 확장 전,후 치축각 비교에서는, Horseshoe Expander군이 급속 상악골 확장장치군(RME군)보다 상악 제2소구치, 제1대구치에서 더 큰 상관계수를 가짐으로써 협측 경사이동이 적은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, Horseshoe Expander는 치성 변화가 적고, 급속 상악골 확장장치(RME)에 비하여 협측 경사이동이 적으므로 상악궁 확장에 효과적인 장치로 사료된다. Horseshoe Expander is one of Slow Maxillary Expansion(SME) which aims to accommodate the contra- lateral expansion and midpalatal suture expansion of the palate. The appliance consists of skeleton type screw embedded in split Horseshoe appliance. It is the objectives of the presentation to manifest the changes in dental & craniofacial components subsequent to the application of Horseshoe Expander. The subjects for this study consisted of 32 patients (mean age : 12.7). Frontal, lateral cephalometric headfilm were taken and study casts were fabricated before and after expansion. 24 items were measured, compared preexpansion with postexpansion. Especially, palatal volume was measured by means of "Hydro-measurement method". Tooth axis measurement on the dental casts were made with Universal bevel protractor, and Horseshoe Expander group were compared with RME group. This study of changes to maxillary expansion with Horseshoe Expander revealed the following significant results. 1.Triangular-shaped expansion pattern appeared in frontal cephalometric headfilm. 2.Palatal plane, occlusal plane, mandibular plane and upper incisor to FH increased in lateral cephalometric headfilm. 3.Palatal volume increased significantly. A slight bite opening, reduction of occlusal contact points showed in dental casts. 4.A 2.2 : 1 ratio of the amount of intermolar width in maxilla(orthodontic movement) to maxillary width (orthopedic movement) was determined. 5.Horseshoe Expander group has less buccal tipping tendency than RME group, by taking high correlation coefficients in the upper second premolar and first molar. It was suggested that Horseshoe Expander showed less orthodontic changes, less buccal tipping tendency. In addition, it was effective in maxillary expansion.

      • 섬유소 분해효소 생성 미생물의 분리 및 특성

        Of 7 cellulolytic isolates which produced both cellulase complex and xylanase at 40℃ or 42℃ under the neutral pH range, LBC505 and CYC10 strains were a potent cellulase producer isolated from soil, and found to be similar to Pseudomonas sp. Cellulolytic thermophilic F204 and F1020, were also isolated from soil and identified as Bacillus sp. from its taxonomical characteristics, except for its ability to grow at high temperature and pH. Pseudomonas sp. and thermophilic alkalophilic Bacillus sp. produced CMCase, avicelase and β-1, 4-glucosidase as well as xylanase in culture filtrate. The optimal temperature and pH for cell growth and cellulase production of Pseudomonas sp LBC505 and CYC10 were 42℃, pH 6.8-7.0, respectively, and Bacillus sp. F204 and F1020 were 50℃, pH 10.0. The maximal cellulase complex and xylanase acitivities were obtained by cultivating Pseudomonas sp in improved medium, FCY medium, containing 2% CMC, 0.5% yeast extract, 0.3% polypeptone, 0.2% (NH₄)₂SO₄, 0.5% NaCl, 0.2% K₂PO₄, 0.05% MgSO₄·7H₂O, 0.04% CaCl₂, 0.02% FeSO₄·7H₂O, 0.001% MnSO₄·7H₂O, at 40-42℃ for 48hrs. Cellulase complex and xylanase production of Bacillus sp. in an improved medium(FTA) containing the best compound investigated were higher 1.4-2.3 times than that in initial medium(PY-CMC) and its enzyme activity was maximal when grown at 50℃ for 36hrs.
