        Synergistic effect of binanoenzyme and cryogel column on the production of formic acid from carbondioxide

        In this study, binanoenzyme (BNE) was synthesized using FateDH and Cyt-C in same bionano-interface;by formation of formate dehydrogenase-co-cytochrome C by using ANADOLUCA method. Thesynthesized novel binanoenzyme was embedded into HEMA based cryogel column and the conversionof CO2 to formic acid was investigated by using this cryogel column. To maintain the conversion, CO2saturated water was passed through the cryogel column and the converted formic acid was analyzedusing HPLC. The parameters which has an effect on conversion such as pH, sample volume and CO2concentration were analyzed. The results showed that the conversion process was succeeded effectively.

        Run related probability function and their application to start-up demonstration tests

        A start-up demonstration test is a mechanism that is usually used to determine the reliability of equipment, for example water pumps, car batteries and power generators. The simplest and oldest start-up demonstration tests are called CS (consecutive suc- cesses) which have been studied by Hahn and Gage (1983), Viveros and Balakrishnan (1993). At first Hahn and Gage (1983) discussed the start-up demonstration test. It was based on i.i.d (independently and identically distributed) binary outcomes with the specified number of consecutive successful start-ups. Oh (2016) studied CSNCF (consecutive successful, but not consecutive failures). In this paper, we investigated the CS and CSNCF models, also their applications to start-up demonstration tests. The numerical results showed that the expectations and variances of the total number of attempted start-ups until the acceptance of the unit are gradually increasing in all of the specified number of successes as the p (probability of a successful start-up in any single trial) decreases from 0.99 to 0.90. The difference between means of the CS model and CSNCF model is small, but variances of the CS and CSNCF are big.

        고령산모의 임산부 복합운동 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구

        The Purpose of this study is to contribute to the development of an efficient pre-childbirth management system for elderly gravida by developing and verifying the effectiveness of a pre-childbirth exercise program for preventing negative obstetrical prognosis of elderly maternity based scientific basis regarding the issue resulting from pregnancy of advanced maternal age and its cause. For the purpose of developing the program, reflective circulatory structure implementation research method of Dickinson College was used. The study was conducted in total of 3 sessions and participant is 4 elderly maternity. The exercies program consisted of 12 weeks in total and was implemented from the 27thweek of pregnancy to right before childbirth. First, The pregnancy and childbirth of the research participants that were revealed through the research are as follow. Most of all, all 4 elderly maternity that participated in the research experienced safe childbirth and succeeded in natural childbirth. Second, Pregenancy induced complications or negative obstetrical prognosis resulting from pregnancy of advanced maternal age did not occur. lnstead, they were able to control their weight through exercise during pregnancy, increase their stamina and relieve pain and edema that had occurred before exercising. The elderly gravida that underwent their pregnancy period through pre-childbirth exercise had positive impact on their family members and acquaintances and helped their obstetricians to expect positive results. In addition, their pre-childbirth care through exercise allowed the participants to increase confidence in giving birth, while also relieving their anxiety and stress there by helping them anticipate childbirth with positive mindset.

        밀로 라우의 뉴리얼리즘 -재연을 통한 허구와 실재의 작용-

        밀로 라우는 2018년 겐트 선언문을 통해서 연극은 더 이상 세상을 보여주는 게 아니라 세상을 바꿔야 한다고 주장한다. 연극은 세상의 진실을 보여줄 수 있어야 하고, 이를 통해 변화의 가능성들이 제기되어야 한다는 것이다. 그는 논쟁의 여지가 많은 역사 속 사건을 선택하고 그것을 재연이라는 방식을 통해 현재로 소환한다. 이때 재연은 과거의 사건을 현실에서 연극이라는 허구의 세계로 옮겨오는 역할을 수행한다. 리얼리즘이 재현을 통해 연극의 허구성을 감추고 완결된 환상을 지향한다면, 라우는 재연을 통해 연극의 허구성을 인정하고 환상이 아닌 실재를 연출하는 뉴리얼리즘을 주장한다. 허구와 실재라는 서로 상반되는 개념이 충돌하고 공존하면서 연극 안에서 과거의 사건은 현재로 소환된다. 관객은 역사적 사건에 감정적으로 이입되는 동시에, 지금 관객의 눈앞에서 다시 반복되는 사건의 현재화를 통해 퍼포먼스적인 측면에서의 현장성을 경험한다. 무엇보다 재연은 과거 사건에 대한 하나의 입장 혹은 태도를 전제하기 때문에, 연출가의 예술적 해석을 반영한다. 본 논문에서는 라우의 독특한 연극 미학을 고찰하고, 그가 2016년에 연출한 <다섯 개의 소품들>을 중심으로 재연이라는 방식이 어떻게 작동하고 어떠한 의미를 산출하는지에 집중한다. 무엇보다 그가 일관되게 사용하는 재연 기법이 초기 작품에서 현재에 이르기까지 어떻게 변주되는지 그 양상을 추적하고 이에 따른 효과를 분석하고자 한다. 이를 통해 아직 국내에서 활발하게 다뤄지지 않은 라우의 연극 미학에 대한 관심을 촉발하고 이후 연구를 위한 초석을 마련하고자 한다. In 2018, Milo Rau proclaims in his Ghent Manifesto that theater is not just about portraying the world anymore. It’s about changing it. Theatre should be able to reveal the truths of the world and the possibilities of change must be raised through this. He chooses controversial events from the past and summons them to our present by using the form of ‘reenactment’. This reenactment plays a pivotal role of transferring the reality of the past events into the fictional world of theater. In other words, if ‘Realism’ pursues the complete illusion which hides the fictionality of theater through the representation of reality, then what Rau suggests is that he accepts the fictional aspects of theater, but instead of directing illusion he directs the reality. Which is what he calls the ‘New Realism’. In Rau's plays, the past events become our present as the two of the opposing ideas, so called fiction and reality clashes and co-exists. As the audiences make the emotional connection to the past events, they also witness and experience the liveness as in the form of performance through the past events being repeated in front of their present eyes. Most of all, the reenactment premises one of many stances or opinions about the past events, so it reflects the director’s artistic interpretation. In this dissertation, I will be contemplating Rau’s distinctive theatrical aesthetics, and focus on the mechanism of reenactment, and what meanings it produces by studying the play Five Easy Pieces which he directed in 2016. Above all, I will be tracking the variations of his consistent use of this reenactment method from his early plays to the most recent ones and analyze the effects that follows. Through this, I wish to trigger the interests toward Rau’s aesthetics of theatre, which hasn’t been actively mentioned in Korea. And thus create a foundation for a further study of Milo Rau and his theatre.

        Antibacterial Effects of Tea Tree Oil and Mastic Oil to Streptococcus mutans

        Background: Tea tree oil has antiviral, antimicrobial and antifungal effects and Mastic oil has antifungal and anticancer effects. For synergistic effects of oils, blending oil containing a mixture of two to three oils is recommended. This study aimed to determine the antibacterial effects of Tea tree oil, Mastic oil, and Blending oil containing the two oils in a mixture, to verify and suggest the potential use of these oils as a substance to prevent dental caries.Methods: Tea tree oil, Mastic oil, and Blending oil with a 1:1 blend of the two oils were diluted in liquid medium to 0% (negative control), 0.5%, 1.0%, and 2.0%. Streptococcus mutans was applied to each experimental group of the three diluted oils and after 8 h culture, the optical density (OD) was measured and the growth inhibition rate for S. mutans was estimated.Results: Tea tree oil had significantly low OD values across all concentrations (p<0.05) without significant variation among different concentrations (p>0.05). Mastic oil did not significantly vary in OD compared to the negative control across all concentrations (p>0.05) without significant variation among different concentrations (p>0.05). Blending oil, compared to the negative control, did not significantly vary in OD at 0.5% (p>0.05) but significant variation was found as the concentration increased (p<0.05). Additionally, for Tea tree oil and Mastic oil, the growth inhibition rate showed no significant variation according to concentration (p>0.05), whereas for Blending oil, the growth inhibition rate for S. mutans showed a significant difference at 1.0% (p<0.05) and at higher concentrations. Conclusion: Blending oil containing a Tea tree oil and Mastic oil demonstrated a significant growth inhibition effect on S. mutans from the concentration of 1.0%, which suggested its potential use as an effective antibacterial agent for dental caries.

        The GntR-Type Regulators GtrA and GtrB Affect Cell Growth and Nodulation of Sinorhizobium meliloti

        GntR-type transcriptional regulators are involved in the regulation of various biological processes in bacteria, but little is known about their functions in Sinorhizobium meliloti. Here, we identified two GntR-type transcriptional regulator genes, gtrA and gtrB, from S. meliloti strain 1021. Both the gtrA1 mutant and the gtrB1 mutant had lower growth rates and maximal cell yields on rich and minimal media, as well as lower cell motility on swimming plates, than did the wild-type strain. Both mutants were also symbiotically deficient. Alfalfa plants inoculated with wild-type strain 1021 formed pink elongated nodules on primary roots. In contrast, the plants inoculated with the gtrA1 and gtrB1 mutants formed relatively smaller, round, light pink nodules mainly on lateral roots. During the first 3~4 weeks post-inoculation, the plants inoculated with the gtrA1 and gtrB1 mutants were apparently stunted, with lower levels of nitrogenase activity, but there was a remarkable increase in the number of nodules compared to those inoculated with the wild-type strain. Moreover, the gtrA1 and gtrB1 mutants not only showed delayed nodulation, but also showed markedly reduced nodulation competition. These results demonstrated that both GtrA and GtrB affect cell growth and effective symbiosis of S. meliloti. Our work provides new insight into the functions of GntR-like transcriptional regulators.

      • Research on the Creative Characteristics of Matthew Bourne’s Rebellious Classics

        Purpose - This research is to compare and analyze the three works of Matthew Bourne’s masterpiece “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty” and “Cinderella” and the classical version of ballet. The purpose of the research is to study the creative characteristics of Matthew Bourne. Design/Methodology/Approach -Using literature research method, comparative research method, and work analysis method. Findings - Firstly, the creation is full of realistic thinking and satire on reality, before the detailed mastery of character psychology and audience psychology in creation. Secondly, the creation must follow natural and logical thinking. Furthermore, the creation should pay attention to the characteristics of the times. More specifically, the creation is needed to bear the sense of responsibility given by the times. Moreover, many hints in the plot design echo the mainline of plot development which is the main creative keynotes eulogizing pure love and yearning for a free and equal life. Finally, Matthew’s creation is full of thinking about human nature as the diversity of dance vocabulary is mixed and chaotic and has characteristics of characters and times. Research Implications - The significance lies in the detailed comparative analysis of the creative characteristics of Matthew Byrne, and the active role of Matthew in promoting dance narration through research and analysis.

        Comparison of Digestive Function Among Rabbits, Guinea-Pigs, Rats and Hamsters. II. Digestive Enzymes and Hindgut Fermentation

        The aim of this trial was to study the response of laboratory animals including omnivores (rats) and herbivores (rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters) to the same level of dietary fiber on their digestive enzymes and hindgut fermentation. Ten weanling animals of each of four species, rabbits, guinea-pigs, rats and Syrian hamster, were fed a basal diet of 18% crude protein and 10% crude fiber for six weeks. The digesta and tissue of each intestinal segment were collected to measure the activity of digestive enzymes. Rabbits contained the highest secreted pepsin activity in the stomach, whereas rats contained the highest protease and ${\alpha}-amylase$ activity in the small intestine, and lower fibrous hydrolases in the hindgut than rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. The total VFA productions in the caecum and colon were highest in rats, followed by hamsters and rabbits, while the guinea pigs contained the lowest VFA and a different pattern of VFA molar ratio from the other laboratory animals. The degree of hindgut fermentation in these laboratory animals was in reverse to the trend for their fiber digestion.
