Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

Thymoma is associated with myasthenia gravis, Pure red cell aplasia, and autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, and hypogammaglobulinemia. It's association with aplastic anemia is rare and aplastic anemia appearing after surgical removal of thymoma is especially rare. The authors hereby report a case of aplastic anemia occuring in a patient who was diagnosed with thymoma and myasthenia gravis and had the tumor surgically removed. The patient was treated with anti-thymocyte globulin, cyclosporin, and prednisolone, and showed partial remission with hematologic improvements after 12 months.

CdS 박막의 열처리효과에 관한 연구

The annealing effects of CdS thin films prepared by the chemical vapor deposition method have been investigated. At 380℃, the annealing of CdS thin films for 30 minutes in H_(2) gas and vacuum (10^(-5) torr) has led to enhance the electrical conductivity and crystal structure of them. The resistivities are increased by as much as two and concentrations of the CdS thin films annealed have very fluctuating values, this may be expected to attniute to the surface scattering and surface potential resulted from the defects.

천추 갈색종양(Brown tumor)으로 발현된 부갑상선 기능항진증 1예

부갑상선 기능항진증에 의한 골병변으로 갈색종양이 있다. 갈색종양은 주로 장골을 침범하고 척추골에서의 발생은 매우 드물다. 국내의 보고에서 갈색종양의 장골 침범은 있었으나, 척추골에서의 발생은 보고된바 없다 .저자들은 부갑상선 기능항진증으로 인하여 척추골의 천추에 발생된 갈색종양 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. The bony involvement in primary hyperparathyroidism present as browm tumor or osteitis fibrosa cystica and lead to pathologic fracture. Brown tumor commonly involve long bone such as femur, tibia, fibula, humerus, and radius. Brown tumor of axial skeleton is a rare entity. Previously reported case that involve axial skeleton still not present. We report a 47-year-old male patient that he has a hyperparathyroidism presenting as brown tumor involving sacrum.

우수여자 유도선수들의 연간 트레이닝과 디트레이닝에 따른 무산소성 역치의 변화

The seasonal variance for estimate of exercise intensity, energy expenditure, maximal oxygen uptake and anaerobic threshold of elite women judo players(Group Ⅰ:4,Group Ⅱ: 4) was measured during 3,5,7,9,10month. The results of this study is as follows. 1. Exercise intensity by %HRmax during seasonal training was shown range of 56.45-73.62, 65.56-82.15, 80.03-86.62, 62.06-68.83%HRmax, respectiveley, from 3 to 9month in the warm up, additional exercise, main exercise and cooling down. 2. Energy expenditure per min during seasonal training was shown range of 4.09-7.96, 5.41-8.66, 8.95-9.90 and 5.05-6.41Kcal/min, respectiveley, from 3 to 9month in the warn up, additional exercise, main exercise, main exercsie and cooling down. 3. Changes of maximal oxygen uptake(VO₂max)during seasonal training and detraining not significant difference between both group, and in the seasonal variance. However, maximal heart rate during detraining expressed significant difference(p<0.05) between both group. 4. Anaerobic threshold levels during seasonal training and detraining not significant difference between both group, and in the seasonal variance. However, AT-VE(1/min) and AT- work time(min) of group Ⅱ expressed significant difference(p<0.01) in the seasonal variance.

한국의 농업구조변화가 경제 전체에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

By means of input-output tables compiled by the Bank of Korea it has been possible to quantify the effects of structural change in agriculture on the rest of the economy. The calculation can be devided in three segments: The changes in agricultural input between the base years of the three input-output tables are broken down into a level and a structural component, in order to enable depiction of the expansion or contraction of input, which varies according to supplying sector, independent of the level of production. In calculating the feedbacks from changed agricultural inputs to the gross production of each sector, agriculture's significance as a purchasing sector for intermediate inputs from other production sectors is quantified over time. In addition to the direct effects, indirect effects by way of intersectoral links are measured. The substitution process in agriculture leads to relatively more intermediate and fewer primary inputs into agriculture. This part of study shows how in the rest of the economy labor input, capital input, and imports are effected by structural changes in agriculture. The increase in intermediate inputs, which is based on the structural changes in agriculture, gets more concentrated on commodities which enable agriculture to rationalize production. Although the increase in deliveries of some sectors is particularly high, agriculture's relative importance as a purchaser is decreasing: The expansion of these sectors is definitely greater than that of agriculture. As a result of the process of substitution in agriculture and increased demand for intermediate inputs, totally labor, more capital, and more imports have been used in the supplying sectors.

남·북한 농업통합에 대비한 협동조합의 역할에 관한 연구

This paper addresses the transitional issues which would emerge in agriculture sector of North Korea under the assumption that the South and North Korea would be reunified in the near future. The problems and bottlenecks of cooperative farms currently encountered by North Korea are surveyed. The issues on transition of cooperative farms include privatization, restructuring, improvement of agricultural credit system and so forth. Such measures should be efficiently designed and impremented in harmony with cooperatives of South Korea for enhancing the competitiveness of both parts of agriculture in Korean Peninsular. The cases of Germany and China are especially compared regarding the role of cooperatives.

積極的 理工系 支援政策이 왜 必要한가? : 未就業期間이 碩·博士 學位 卒業者의 人的資本에 미치는 影響 Periods of Unemployment and Human Capital

人的資本은 物的資本과 마찬가지로 시간이 흐를수록 물리적 쇠퇴, 技術의 陳腐化, 失職 등 여러 가지 요인에 의해서 減價償却될 수 있는데, 특히 과학기술분야의 失職 또는 미취업은 硏究人力을 연구개발현장에서 유리시킴으로써 人的資本을 빠르게 마모시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 IMF 경제위기 이후 많은 이공계 석·박사 학위졸업자들이 미취업상태에 놓였던 우리 나라의 경우 설문조사를 기초로 실직에 따른 이공계 고학력 硏究人力의 人的資本 減價償却 정도와 이것이 賃金水準에 미치는 效果를 實證分析하였다. 분석결과 우리 나라에서도 失職期間과 勤勞所得 간에 음의 결과가 잇는 것으로 나타났으며, 감가상각률도 기존의 선진국에 일반 근로자들을 대상으로 한 결과보다 크게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 知識基盤産業이 점차 國家戰略産業으로 자리잡고 있는 상황에서 國家競爭力을 높이고, 지속적인 成長을 유지시키기 위해서는 취업이 안 된 이공계 석·박사 학위자들에 대한 투자를 적극적으로 확대하는 이공계 支援政策이 필요함을 시사한다.

인터넷을 통한 電子商去來 契約上의 法的 論點

인터넷은 단순히 통신수단의 변화에 그치지 않고 문화·사회·정치의 각 방면에서 커다란 변혁을 불러일으키고 있으며, 물품매매계약이 전자적으로 이루어지는 경우 전자상거래계약의 성립시기, 방식 및 전자문서의 효력, 준거법(applicable law, governing law), 재판관할(jurisdiction)등에 관하여 복잡 ·다양한 문제점들을 야기하게 된다. 전자상거래 계약상에서 청약의 기준에 관해서는 매도인의 행위를 청약으로 보는 것이 다수설이다. 따라서 매수인이 선택한 상품에 대하여 구입의사를 표시, 즉 승낙하면 바로 전자상거래 계약이 성립한다고 할 수 있다. 그리고 인터넷을 이용한 전자상거래의 경우에는 국경을 초월하여 세계의 모든 소비자들을 그 대상으로 함으로써 준거법의 문제와 재판관할권의 문제가 상당히 중요한 문제로 부각되고 있는 바, 준거법의 결정은 일반적으로 당사자의 자유로운 의사에 따라 결정된다. 재판관할권에 대해서는 재판관할에 대한 합의가 있는 경우에 우리 나라는 이를 유효한 것으로 인정하고 있으나, 일반 소비자들을 대상으로 하고 있는 전자상거래의 특성을 고려할 때 이는 다소 무리가 따른다고 생각된다. 또한 재판관할에 대한 합의가 없는 경우에는 피고의 주소지국이 재판관할권을 부여받는바, 격지자간의 소액거래에서는 그 실익을 기대할 수 없는 것이 현실이다.

5HT 2A/T102C 다형성과 정신분열병 및 임상아형과의 관련연구

목 적 : 가계연구, 입양연구, 쌍생아연구들은 정신분열병의 원인으로 유전학적 요소가 매우 중요하다는 것을 지적해 주고 있다. 그러나 정신분열병의 유전적인 복잡성으로 인하여 많은 연구들이 시행되었음에도 유전방식이나 원인 유전자를 밝히지는 못하였다. 최근에는 5HT₂a수용체가 비정형항정신병약물의 주된 작용부위하는 것이 밝혀지면서 5HT₂a 수용체의 유전자가 정신분열병의 원인과 관련이 있을 것이라는 관심이 늘어나게 되었다. 따라서 저자들은 한국인 정신분열병환자들을 대상으로 5HT₂a 수용체 T102C 다형성과의 association study를 시행하였다. 방 법 : 환자군은 강남성모병원에 입원했던 DSM-Ⅲ-R의 진단기준에 의한 정신분열병환자로 250명이었으며 평균연령은 30.1±9.3세 이었다. 정신분열병환자를 위한 양성증상과 음성증상척도의 종합척도를 기준으로 점수가 1이상인 경우를 양성군, -1이하인 경우를 음성군으로 하였다. 대조군은 정신과나 신경과 질환의 과거력이나 가족력이 없는 236명의 지원자로 구성하였으며 평균연령은 23.6±3.7세이었다. 다형성과 정신분열병 및 임상양상과 임상아형 사이의 유전적인 관련성의 분석에는 로지스틱 회귀분석과 일원 변량분석을 시행하였으며 통계 프로그램으로는 SPSS 7.5를 사용하였다. 말초혈액에서 DNA를 분리한후 중합효소 연쇄반응으로 증폭하였으며, 증폭산물을 제한효소인 MspI으로 처리하여 유전자형을 판별하였다. 결 과 : 5HT₂a 수용체 T102C 다형성의 대립유전자 빈도와 유전자형 분포는 환자군과 대조군 사이에 유의한 차이를 보여주지 못하였으며, 임상아형과도 유의한 관련이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 정신분열병환자를 위한 양성증상과 음성증상척도중 음성증상척도는 유전자형에 따른 유의한 차이를 나타내었다(F=3.828, df=2, p=0.023). 결 론 : 본 연구의 결과는 한국인에서 5HT₂a 수용체의 T102C 다형성이 정신분열병의 발생과 임상아형의 결정에는 관련이 없으나 음성증상의 발현에는 관련이 있음을 시사해 준다고 하겠다. Objectives : Family, twin and adoption studies indicate that genetic factors play a crucial role in the etiology of schizophrenia. However, mode of inheritance of schizophrenia is uncertain, and genes for schizophrenia have not yet been identified despite extensive studies due to the complexity of the genetics of schizophrenia. Currently, 5HT₂a receptor gene has attracted considerable interest as a susceptibility gene of schizophrenia since the 5HT₂a receptor has been known as one of the major target sites of atypical neuroleptics. We conducted an association study of T102C polymorphism in the 5HT₂a receptor gene in Korean schizophrenic patients using PCR-RELP method. Methods : Two hundred and fifty biologically unrelated schizophrenic patients meeting DSM-Ⅲ-R criteria from Kangnam St. Mary's Hospital affiliated with Catholic University of Korea were recruited for our study. The patient group consisted of 123 male and 127 female subjects, aged 30.1±9.3years. The controls were volunteers for DNA library of Kangnam St. Mary's Hospital without family history of psychiatric or neurologic illness. The control group consisted of 124 males and 112 females, aged 23.6±3.7years. Amplified genomic DNA was digested by MspI. The significance of genetic association of the polymorphism was estimated by the logistic regression analysis and ANOVA using SPSS 7.5. Results : The allele frequencies and the genotypic distribution of 5HT₂a receptor gene were not significantly different between the patient and control group. In addition the allele frequencies and the genotypes of 5HT₂a receptor gene were not significantly associated with subtype of schizophrenia. However, negative symptom score according to genotype show significant difference(F=3.828 df=2 p=0.023). Conclusion : It is suggested that even if the development and subtype of schizophrenia may not be associated with T102C polymorphism of 5HT₂a receptor in Korean population, T102C polymorphism may be associated with the severity of negative symptom.
