        연구개 및 구개수에 발생한 편평세포암종

        Carcinoma of the mouth accounts for approximately 5% of all carcinomas occurring in man. Carcinoma of the oral cavity develops as a result of invasion of malignant epithelial cells through the normally intact basal cell layer into subcutaneous and submucosal tissuse. The sofe palate and uvula may be involved in oral cancer but are not common sites. Early lesions of soft palate carcinoma appear as red, white, or mixed changes in the mucosa. The earliest symptom is mild sore throat. Advanced lesions interfer with swallowing and may cause a voice change. Although surgical method of soft palate carcinoma is successful, prognosis is relatively poor to swallowing and speech problem. Occasionally marginal recurrence may be developed. This article reports a case of squamous cell carcinoma occurred unusually in the soft palate and uvula. The case was treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, local radicalexcision and postoperative irradiation. Patient was followed up for 2 years. There was no tumor recurrence. The overall result including function was satisfactory.

      • 하악골 골절에 대한 임상통계학적 연구

        This study was aimed to furnish the data of mandibular fracture which was related to regional and social environment and to aid diagnosis and treatment of the fracture. This is the clinicostatistical study on 277 inpatients who had 450 mandibular fractures and were treated at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Chonnam University Hospital from Jan 1, 1992 to Dec. 31, 1996. Results obtained were as follows : The patients' age ranged between 3-73 years. The third decade age group revealed the highest incidence of the fractures (35.0%), followed by the second decade (20.2%) and the fourth (17.3%) in order. Two hundred and sixteen patients were male and 61 patients were female (the ratio of male to female was 3.7:1). The fracture was at the highest incidence in August (13.4%), followed by in October (12.3%) and September (11.9%). The most common cause of the fracture was traffic accidents (33.9%), followed by falling down (24.9%) and violence (17.7%). The most common site of the fracture was symphysis (44.3%), followed by condyle (27.3%) and angle (21.6%). The most commonly occurred concomitant facial injury was facial laceration (33.9%). Concomitant injuries of other parts of body were most commonly caused by traffic accident (75.7%) and head and neck were the most common site of the injury (41.7%). Of the 277 patients, 258 patients (93.1%) were treated by open reduction. The average period of intermaxillary fixation was 9.4 days. Postoperative complications were found in 24 (8.7%) of 277 patients, in which local infection(5.4%) was the most common. These results suggest that the mandibular fracture is commonly associated with concomitant injury of other parts of the body, so that team approaches with other medical departments are recommended for its appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

      • Cellulose Triacetate 막에서 CD₂ 와 CH₄혼합기체의 투과

        Cellulose Triacetate막에서 CO₂의 수착실험은 pressure decay method에 의해서 행하였고, 수착실험의 온도범위는 50℃, 60℃이고 압력범위는 13atm 까지 가압하여 수착 등온선을 측정하였다. 이런 조건하에서는 CO₂의 수착평형은 Dual-mode sorption model에 의한 이론치와 실험치가 비교적 일치한다는 것을 알 수 있다. Dual-mode sorption model 수착 매개 변수들은 비선형 최소 자승법으로 구하였다. 투과실험은 같은 온도 조건과 25atm까지의 압력 범위까지 수행하였다. 실험에서 얻은 평균투과계수의 압력의존성은 고온, 고압에서 기존의 Dual-mode mobility model로는 설명할 수 없었다. 이런 현상은 기체 분자에 의한 가소화 현상 때문으로 생각할 수 있다. 따라서 modified dual-mode mobility model을 적용시킨 결과 잘 일치하였다. 또한 CTA막에서 CO₂와 CH₄혼합기체의 투과 실험을 40℃, 50℃, 60℃의 온도 범위와 25 atm의 압력 범위 하에서 행하였다. 순수 기체에 비해서 복잡한 혼합 기체의 투과를 설명하기 위해서 Dual-mode mobility model을 적용시켜 보았고 잘 일치하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 혼합 기체의 거동에서 CO₂을 고려한 부분투과계수를 구하였다. 이때의 부분투과계수의 압력 의존성이 Dual-mode mobility model에 잘 일치하는 것을 알 수 있었다. The sorption isotherms of CO₂in cellulose triacetate membrane sample were measured by a pressure decay method to examine the sorption model of CO₂. And the permeation experiments were perfomed by variable volume method to analyze the permeation model of CO₂. Sorption experiments carried out 50, 60℃ and pressure up to 13 atm in cellulose triacetate. The sorption equilibria of CO₂at these temperature range can be simulated well by dual-mode sorption model. The values of the dual-mode sorption parameter were estimated by the non linear least square method. Permeation runs were carried out at same trmperature and pressure to 25atm. The pressure dependence of mean permeability of CO₂at these temperature range couldn't accurately be simulated by a dual-mode mobility model because of the plasticization action of sorbed gas in the polymer membrane. But more satisfactorily simulated by a modified dual-mode mobility model. An analytical solution has been obtained for the dual-mode mobility model extended to a binary gas mixtures to describe the pressure dependence of mean permeablity for CO₂and CH₄in the cellulose triacetate membranes. Binary gas of permeation rate measured at 40, 50, 60℃ and upstream pressure 25atm. Mean permeability of each component in a binary gas were calculated by the basis of the dual-mode mobility model.

        폐수의 처리와 해수의 담수화에 사용되는 막분리장치의 효율을 증가시키기 위하여 새롭게 설계, 제작하였다. 유체의 흐름을 개선하여 염수를 사용한 실증 실험으로 상업용 제품과 비교하여 10%의 향상된 분리성능을 갖은 장치를 개발하였다.

        In this paper, we studied the method of electrets electrode which formed to accumulate negative electric charges by corona discharges. The breakdown voltage samples and damaged samples by various corona discharges have made material stabilization and improved characteristics of electric charge storage throughout the annealing processes. After the experiment made material stabilization nearly melting point by many kinds of annealing conditions, we did the corona discharge again by the charged high voltages, a discharge electrode gap, and a discharged time. As we compared it with the best condition, we confirmed that characteristics of electric charge storages were improved.

      • Squalene Adjuvant를 이용한 단백질 항원의 세포성 면역반응 유도

        To investigate the role of adjuvant for cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) induction, squalene-based adjuvant was studied its capability eliciting to the induction of cellular immunity as well as humoral immunity to exogeneous proteins. Ovalbumin (OVA) was used as model proteins. It was demonstrated that antigen formulation consisted of metabolizable oil squalene mixed with Tween 80 and pluronic L121 (S/TJ121) could induced the antigen specific CTL responses and antibodies irrespective of immunization routes in mice. We also demonstrated that this antigen formulation was a inducer of CD8+, major histocompatibility complex(MHC) class I-restricted, and antigen-specific C;1'Ls. These data suggest that the squalene-based emulsion system is a potent adjuvant inducing cellular immunity as well as humoral immunity.

      • A Comprehensive In Vivo and In Vitro Assessment of the Drug Interaction Potential of Red Ginseng

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P> <B> Purpose:</B> Red ginseng is one of the world's most popular herbal medicines; it exhibits a wide range of pharmacologic activities and is often co-ingested with other herbal and conventional medicines. This open-label, randomized, 3-period study investigated the in vivo herb–drug interaction potential for red ginseng extract with cytochrome P-450 (CYP) enzymes and organic anion-transporting polypeptide (OATP) 1B1.</P> <P> <B>Methods:</B> Fifteen healthy male volunteers (22-28 years; 57.1-80.8 kg) were administered a single dose of cocktail probe substrates (caffeine 100 mg, losartan 50 mg, omeprazole 20 mg, dextromethorphan 30 mg, midazolam 2 mg, and pitavastatin 2 mg) and single or multiple doses of red ginseng extract for 15 days.</P> <P> <B>Findings:</B> The pharmacokinetic profiles of the probe substrates and metabolites after single- or multiple-dose administration of red ginseng extracts were comparable to the corresponding profiles of the control group. The geometric mean ratio of AUC<SUB>0–t</SUB> and 90% CIs for the probe substrate drugs between the control and multiple doses of red ginseng for 15 days were within 0.8 to 1.25 (CYP2C9, CYP3A4, and OATP1B1 probe substrates) or slightly higher (CYP1A2, CYP2C19, and CYP2D6 probe substrates). Additional assessments of the in vitro drug interaction potential of red ginseng extracts and the ginsenoside Rb1 on drug-metabolizing enzymes and transporters using human liver microsomes, cryopreserved human hepatocytes, and transporter-overexpressed cells were negative.</P> <P> <B>Implications:</B> Red ginseng poses minimal risks for clinically relevant CYP- or OATP-mediated drug interactions and is well tolerated.
