지리산국립공원 심원계곡 생태경관 복원공사지역 식생 변화

본 연구는 지리산국립공원 심원계곡 생태경관 복원공사지역의 모니터링 결과를 분석하여 체계적인 복원관리를 도모할 수 있는 기초자료를 확보하는데 그 목적이 있다. 복원사업이 완료된 2017년도에 식생 모니터링을 위한 조사구 12개소와 대조구 4개소를 설치하였고, 2017년과 2020년의 상대우점치, 종다양도지수, 유사도 등의 변화를 분석하였다. 복원사업 시 수목이 식재되었던 조사구는 종다양도지수가 0∼1.4552로 나타났고, 대조구와의 유사도지수에서는 1개 조사구가 1.32%로 분석된 것을 제외하고 모두 0%로 나타났다. 조사구의 종다양도지수 및 유사도지수가 매우 낮은 것은 복원사업 시 식재된 수목이 고사하거나 멧돼지 피해, 유수에 의한 침식으로 유실되는 등의 영향으로 판단되었다. 반면 복원사업 시 수목이 식재되지 않은 미식재 조사구는 종다양도지수가 0.9538∼2.3222로 나타났고, 유사도지수는 최대 8.33%까지 분석되었다. 국립공원 생태경관 복원공사지역의 복원 공법 개발을 위한 장기 모니터링과, 미식재 조사구의 천이과정을 분석하는 지속적인 연구가 필요하다. This study aims to obtain basic data for systematic restoration by analyzing the monitoring results of the Shimwon Valley Ecological Landscape Restoration Project area in Jirisan National Park. In 2017, when the restoration project was completed, 12 monitoring plots and 4 control plots were installed for vegetation monitoring, and changes in the relative dominance, species diversity index and similarity between 2017 and 2020 were analyzed. The species diversity index of the surveyed areas where trees were planted during the restoration project was 0-1.4552, and the similarity index with the control group was 0% except for one survey area at 1.32%. The very low species diversity index and similarity index in the survey areas were attributed to the loss of trees planted during the restoration project due to death, damage by wild boars, or erosion by running water. On the other hand, the species diversity index was 0.9538-2.3222 in the monitoring plot where no tree was planted, and the similarity index was analyzed to be as high as 8.33%. It is necessary to continue the long-term monitoring for the development of ecological landscape restoration methods in the national park and analysis of the succession in monitoring plots where no trees were planted.

There have been many trials of clinical efficacy of multicomponent and single component treatments for irritable bowel syndrome(IBS). We reviewed effects of non phamacological treatments in the IBS. Though the efficacy of multi-component approaches was unclear, several results suggest that cognitive behavioral therapy was effective in improving gastrointestinal symptoms of IBS. As a single component, cognitive therapy and relaxation with or without biofeedback could improve the symptoms and psychological health of IBS patients. Yoga, meditation, self-help information and hypnotherapy could be applicable to IBS.
New Hybrid Hole Extraction Layer of Perovskite Solar Cells with a Planar p–i–n Geometry

<P>We report a highly efficient p–i–n type planar perovskite solar cell with a hybrid PEDOT/NiO<SUB><I>x</I></SUB> hole-extraction layer. It has been found that the perovskite solar cell with a NiO<SUB><I>x</I></SUB> thin film as a hole-extraction layer generally exhibits lower fill factor compared to the conventionally used PEDOT:PSS thin film, whereas it shows higher photocurrent and photovoltage. The fill factor of the NiO<SUB><I>x</I></SUB>-based perovskite solar cell can be significantly improved by treating the NiO<SUB><I>x</I></SUB> surface with a dilute PEDOT solution. The photoluminescence quenching study and impedance spectroscopic (IS) analysis have revealed that the hole injection at the perovskite/NiO<SUB><I>x</I></SUB> interface is significantly facilitated with the PEDOT treatment, which should lead to the increased fill factor. <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, trihydroxychalcone derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their potential antidiabetic effects in a cell-culture system and a diabetic mouse model in vivo. Some of them increased fatty acid oxidation (FAO) in C2C12 myotubes without affecting the cell viability. In addition, some trihydroxychalcone derivatives, including chalcone <B>13</B>, facilitated AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activation. Chalcone <B>13</B> administration to high-fat diet (HFD)-induced diabetic mice improved glucose tolerance, increased muscle FAO, and reduced fat accumulation in the liver and skeletal muscles. These results suggest that some chalcone derivatives, particularly chalcone <B>13</B>, might be potential therapeutic agents for the treatment of diabetes.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

<P>Three dimensional tissue engineered scaffolds for the treatment of critical defect have been usually fabricated by salt leaching or gas forming technique. However, it is not easy for cells to penetrate the scaffolds due to the poor interconnectivity of pores. To overcome these current limitations we utilized a rapid prototyping (RP) technique for fabricating tissue engineered scaffolds to treat critical defects. The RP technique resulted in the uniform distribution and systematic connection of pores, which enabled cells to penetrate the scaffold. Two kinds of materials were used. They were poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) and poly(D, L-lactic-glycolic acid) (PLGA), where PCL is known to have longer degradation time than PLGA. In vitro tests supported the biocompatibility of the scaffolds. A 12-week animal study involving various examinations of rabbit tibias such as micro-CT and staining showed that both PCL and PLGA resulted in successful bone regeneration. As expected, PLGA degraded faster than PCL, and consequently the tissues generated in the PLGA group were less dense than those in the PCL group. We concluded that slower degradation is preferable in bone tissue engineering, especially when treating critical defects, as mechanical support is needed until full regeneration has occurred.</P>

A full genomic DNA microarray technique was employed to investigate the effects of Dongchunghacho on aortal and hepatic gene expression in apolipoprotein E knockout mice fed a high-fat/high-cholesterol diet. Male 8- week - old ApoE-/- mice were randomly divided into two groups, control(high cholesterol group; HC) and supplementation of Dongchunghacho (SD). All of the mice were fed a high-fet/high cholesterol diet with or without Dongchunghacho supplemented by 1% for 6 weeks. At first, lipid profile of the Dongchunghacho was measured by biochemical analysis. No differences were observed in serum triglyceride and total cholesterol levels between the two groups. Antigenotoxic effect of the Dongchunghacho was measured by the single cell gel electrophoresis assay (Comet assay) and quantified as % fluorescence in tail. Dongchunghacho supplementation decreased significantly leukocytic DNA damage and also there was a tendency of reduction in hepatic DNA damage in Dongchunghacho group compared with the control group. In up regulated genes in liver and aorta of the mice, genes with 0 to 2- fold difference in expression level between the two group (HD and SD) was very much more in liver than in aorta, on the contrary, those with 2-fold to 16-flod difference increased greatly rather in aorta than in liver. Also, almost the same results were observed in down regulated genes in liver and aorta between the two groups. These results suggested that supplementation of Dongchunghacho might be helpful in preventing leukocytic DNA damage induced by high fat diet, and has a more crucial roles in aortal gene expression.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We report photoelectrochemical (PEC) properties of single crystalline anatase TiO<SUB>2</SUB> nanowire (NW) arrays which are sensitized with CdS for visible light activity. Photocurrent varies largely with increasing the growth time (from 2 to 24 h) of the TiO<SUB>2</SUB> NWs and also increasing the deposition cycles (from 7 to 13 cycles) of CdS, which are attributed to changes in morphology of the TiO<SUB>2</SUB> NWs and CdS layer. TiO<SUB>2</SUB> NW array grown for 3 h with 9-cycles of CdS deposition exhibits the maximum photocurrent of 3.6 mA/cm<SUP>2</SUP> at 1.23 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE) under the 1 SUN solar light. Morphological analysis combined with photoresponse analysis show that the 3 h-grown TiO<SUB>2</SUB> NW array has the most suitable structure for PEC electrode because of large surface area for light absorption and chemical reaction, and that the 9-cycles deposited CdS layer provides the optimum light absorption and electron lifetime.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The PEC properties of 1-D anatase TiO<SUB>2</SUB> NW/CdS electrodes are reported firstly. </LI> <LI> The effects of NW morphology and CdS cycles on properties of PEC were investigated. </LI> <LI> The 3 h growth NW shows vertically well-alignments and no canopy phase. </LI> <LI> The 9 CdS cycles has optimum condition for the charge generation and recombination. </LI> <LI> The 3 h growth NW with 9 CdS SILAR cycles shows the best performance. </LI> </UL> </P>
