        Low-viscosity Resin System이 복합레진 수복물의 변연누출에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of various low-viscosty resin systems used as rebonding agents to prevent microleakage at the margins of class I composite resin restorations. Seventy sound human premolars were selected for experiment. Class I cavities were prepared and each cavity was conditioned with a 37% phosphoric acid for 15 sec, rinsed with water for 15 sec, and dried with compressed air. Bonding agent(Scotchbond Multipurpose, 3M Co.) was applied and a hybrid composite resin(Z-100, 3M Co.) was placed using an incremental technic. The excess cured composite resin was carefully removed with Sof-Lex discs(3M Co.) to expose the original margins of the cavity. The following seven groups were established: group 1 was not rebonded and used ascontrol group; group 2 was rebonded with a Scotchbond Multipurpose(3M Co.) and finished ; group 3 was rebonded with a Fortify(BISCO) AND finished ; group 4 was rebonded with a Concise white sealant(3M Co.) and finished ; group 5 was rebonded with a Concise white sealant(3M Co.) and not finished ; group 6 was rebonded with a P&F sealant(BISCO) AND finished ; group 7 was rebonded with a P&F sealant(BISCO) and not finished. The specimens were then subjected to 500 thermocycles between 5 & 65 with a 10sec dwell time and immersed in 2% methylene blue dye solution for 24 hours and sectioned with low-speed diamond cutter into two part under water condition. The extent of microleakage at rebonded margins was evaluated microscopically and scored for dye penetration according to the following scale : 0=no dye penetration ; 1=dye penetration to half-way along axial wall between enamel surface and DEJ ; 2=dye penetration beyond halfway along axial wal between enamel surface and DEJ ; 3=dye penetration to the full depth of DEJ or beyond DEJ. Selected samples were prepared for SEM observation to determine the depth of penetration of the rebonding agent into the marginal interface. The obtained results were as follow : 1. In the group 2 and 3, which is rebonded with a Scotchbond Multipurpose and Fortify, dye penetration score were decreased significantly than that of group 1(P<0.05), but group 4 and 6 were not statistically different from group 1(P>0.05). 2. There were significant differences between group 4, 6 and group 5, 7 when compared by dye penetration score(P<0.05). 3. In the SEM observation, Scotchbond Multipurpose and Fortify were penetrated within 30-40㎛ depth of the outermost surface. However, both sealants were failed to penetrate into the debonded interface.

        The 6th curriculum of the Social Studies and developing plan of the democratic citizenship education. - regarding with the educational policy of the government in 1995. The purpose of this study is to propose the citizenship education, the ultimate goal of the social studies, that ought to be settled down in future Korea Society, after analyzing the current situation of citizenship education. In doing so, the major foci were to grasp the problems of our citizenship education and to suggest the desirable directions of it. Consequently the 7th reformation of social Studies curriculum demand the following. First, the executive faculty should be elevated in the field developing programs suitable to the situation for each step in the kindergarten, elementary school, middle school and high school. Second, each educational organization should carry out the educational policies through the inspectins from the lower parts. Third, public good programs related to the democratic citizen education should be televised at the time of high program rating on MBC, KBS, SBS, as well as EBS. Fourth, the democratic citizen Education should be given through the synthetically-reflected demands of home, school, nation, society. Fifth, the qualities of teachers should be improved to be able to give the democratic citizen education from the integrated Viewpoint.

        열공형과 비열공형 피질하 혈관성 치매에서 위험인자의 차이에 관한 비교 연구

        Backgrounds and Objectives: Vascular dementia is a group of dementing disoders arising from various stroke syndrome. Among these. subcortical ischemic vascular dementia (SIVD) is regarded as a relatively distinct clinical entity. However, MRI patterns of SIVD are not homogenous. In some patients, lacunes are dominant, and in others, subcortical white matter changes are. This study was designed to compare risk factor profiles between SIVD with and without multiple lacunes. Methods: We divided 47 subjects (22 males, mean age. 68 years) recruited from VADAPET (Multicenter Trial For Evaluation Of The Changes In the PET Images Of Subcortical Vascular Dementia Patient) study into two groups one with more than 5 lacunes in deep gray matter (lacune group) and the other with 5 or less(non-lacune group) Clinical characteristics and laboratory findings of two groups were compared. Results: Nineteen of 47 patients (40%) belonged to the lacune group. The lacune and non-lacune groups d d not differ in the following variables: age, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia heart disease, history of stroke or TIA, history of trauma or major surgery, family history of hypertension stroke, or dementia, age at diagnosis of dementia, body mass index, white blood cell count, ESR, CRP, fibrinogen, hemoglobin A1C, total cholesterol. LDL cholesterol creatinine, proteinuria, glucosuria, and microhematuria. However, male sex, smoking alcohol. hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol were possibly associated more with lacune group SIVD than with non-lacune group (p<0 1) Multivariate analyses revealed that smoking, hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol were independent predictors of SIVD with multiple lacunes Conclusion: Our study suggests that SIVD with multiple lacunes may be significantly different in smoking habits hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol from SIVD without multiple lacunes.

Functionism, Neo-Functionism and Federal Unification theory are looked into in connection with the reunification education. 3. The direction of school reunification education are suggested.

        Background and Objectives: Maternal alcohol abuse is considered to be one of the most prominent cause of neurobiological malformations in the postnatal and adult life of the offspring. In this study, we investigated the effects of maternal alcohol drinking on the postnatal development of NPY-containing neuron, and, the influence of thyroxine treatment on the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of pups of alcohol abused mother. Materials and Method: Time-pregnant rats were divided into three groups. Alcohol-fed group A received 35 calories of liquid alcohol diet daily from gestation day 6; control pair-fed group B was fed a liquid diet in dextrin replaced alcohol isocalorically: alcohol + T4 group C received 35 calories liquid alcohol diet and exogenous thyroxine subcutaneously. Results: Group C showed prominent NPY immunoreactivity in the cerebral cortex compared to group A and B at P7. In group C, NPY-containing neurons were widely distributed in the all layers of cerebral cortex after P14. Besides, numerical decrease of NPY-containing neuron as age increases was not found in group C. However, the decrease of NPY-containing neuron was clearly observed in group A compared to group C after P14. In hippocampus, group Band C were appeared similar patterns after P7. Additionally, in group C, NPY immunoreactivity was prominently appeared in CA2 and CA3 at P14 as compared to group B. Conclusions: The present results showed the increase of intensity and number of NPY-containing neurons in cerebral cortex and hippocampus of pups of exogenous T₄ supplemented alcohol-exposed dams as compared to control pair-fed and alcohol-exposed pups at P7. It presumably suggest that NPY-containing neurons might be regulated by the early postnatal growth stimulatory effect of the exogenously supplemented T₄. Therefore, the increase of NPY synthesis caused by maternal administration of exogenous thyroxine may ameliorate fetal alcohol effect, one of the ill effects as a result of the dysthyroid state following maternal alcohol abuse.

        <P>Nanoscale alloys attract enormous research attentions in catalysis, magnetics, plasmonics and so on. Along with multicomponent synergy, quantum confinement and extreme large surface area of nanoalloys offer novel material properties, precisely and broadly tunable with chemical composition and nanoscale dimension. Despite substantial progress of nanoalloy synthesis, the randomized positional arrangement and dimensional/compositional inhomogeneity of nanoalloys remain significant technological challenges for advanced applications. Here we present a generalized route to synthesize single-crystalline intermetallic nanoalloy arrays with dimensional and compositional uniformity via self-assembly. Specific electrostatic association of multiple ionic metal complexes within self-assembled nanodomains of block copolymers generated patterned monodisperse bimetallic/trimetallic nanoalloy arrays consisting of various elements, including Au, Co, Fe, Pd, and Pt.       • A new mid-late maturing japonica rice variety Hyeonpum with a good grain quality and eating quality

        ‘Hyeonpum’ is a new japonica rice variety developed by a cross breeding between Iksan469 having a good canopy architecture and Sindongjin and Musashino 7 having a good eating-quality with a view to develop a new variety having high quality of grain and palatability by the rice breeding team of Rice Breeding and Cultivation Research Division, Department of Rice and Winter Cereal Crop, NICS, RDA in 2012. The heading date of this variety is August 18 and later than that of check variety, Nampyeongbyeo, by four days. ‘Hyeonpum’ has 74cm of culm length and 101 spikelets per panicle. This variety showed resistance to bacterial leaf blight and rice stripe virus, but susceptible to leaf blast and planthoppers. The milled rice of this variety exhibits translucent and very clear non-glutinous endosperm. ‘Hyeonpum’ has much better palatability of cooked rice than that of Nampyeongbyeo. The whole grain rate of milled rice and milled rice recovery of ‘Hyeonpum’ are slightly higher than those of Nampyeongbyeo as 91.8% and 75.2% respectively. The yield of ‘Hyeonpum’ is 5.6 MT/ha in milled rice. ‘Hyeonpum’ could be adaptable to the southern part plain area of Pyeongtaek and southwestern costal areas in Korea.

      • Auxin response factor gene family in <i>Brassica rapa</i> : genomic organization, divergence, expression, and evolution

        <P>Completion of the sequencing of the <I>Brassica rapa</I> genome enabled us to undertake a genome-wide identification and functional study of the gene families related to the morphological diversity and agronomic traits of <I>Brassica</I> crops. In this study, we identified the auxin response factor (<I>ARF</I>) gene family, which is one of the key regulators of auxin-mediated plant growth and development in the <I>B. rapa</I> genome. A total of 31 <I>ARF</I> genes were identified in the genome. Phylogenetic and evolutionary analyses suggest that <I>ARF</I> genes fell into four major classes and were amplified in the <I>B. rapa</I> genome as a result of a recent whole genome triplication after speciation from <I>Arabidopsis thaliana</I>. Despite its recent hexaploid ancestry, <I>B. rapa</I> includes a relatively small number of <I>ARF</I> genes compared with the 23 members in <I>A. thaliana</I>, presumably due to a paralog reduction related to repetitive sequence insertion into promoter and non-coding transcribed region of the genes. Comparative genomic and mRNA sequencing analyses demonstrated that 27 of the 31 <I>BrARF</I> genes were transcriptionally active, and their expression was affected by either auxin treatment or floral development stage, although 4 genes were inactive, suggesting that the generation and pseudogenization of <I>ARF</I> members are likely to be an ongoing process. This study will provide a fundamental basis for the modification and evolution of the gene family after a polyploidy event, as well as a functional study of <I>ARF</I> genes in a polyploidy crop species.</P><P><B>Electronic supplementary material</B></P><P>The online version of this article (doi:10.1007/s00438-012-0718-4) contains supplementary material, which is available to authorized users.</P>

        Polymerase Chain Reaction ( PCR ) 을 이용한 Iridovirus 의 검색

        For rapid detection of iridovirus infection, a PCR-based diagnostic method was developed. The genomic DNA from mortality-associated iridovirus was cloned into pUC19 vector. The nucleotide sequences of these clones were compared with sequences of other genes from EMBL/GenBank databank. Based on the nucleotide sequences, PCR primers were prepared and used for PCR. The DNA amplification did not occur from the normal fish cells. In contrast, DNA was amplified from the iridovirus-infected fish cells and purified iridovirus. These results suggest that mortality-associated iridovirus can be detected from virus-infected cells within short time and this PCR-based diagnostic system provides a simple and accurate method for detecting the presence of iridovirus infection.
