Calcium carbonate ($CaCO_3$) with 15~40 nm average diameter was compounded with polypropylene (PP) in a melted state to form composite materials. To enhance the dispersibility in PP, the surface of the $CaCO_3$ was coated with hydrophobic stearic acid (SA). The SA-coated $CaCO_3$ (SA-$CaCO_3$) showed hydrophobic nature, which resulted in rapid precipitation in water. When melt-compounded with PP, SA-$CaCO_3$ was uniformly distributed throughout the PP matrix, while the uncoated $CaCO_3$ formed aggregated structures in the PP. At up to 5 wt% of SA-$CaCO_3$ content, the composites showed well-dispersed structure, although some level of aggregation was observed in the composites with 10 wt% of SA-$CaCO_3$. The dispersibility improved with a repeated process of compounding. The melting and crystallization temperatures of PP increased with incorporation of $CaCO_3$. The enthalpy of the transitions also increased and the full-width of half maximum of the crystallization peak decreased. However, SA-coating did not produce additional effects on the crystallization behavior of PP. These results showed that the $CaCO_3$ acted as crystal nuclei.

Knee bolster system, composed of knee bolster reinforcement and U brackets, is designed against knee impact<br/> regulation (FMVSS208). FEM is effective in improving system performance in design stages. In this study, the<br/> performance sensitivities of U brackets (energy absorption) and knee bolster reinforcement are analyzed using DOE<br/> and FEM. 5 main factors are selected and designmatrix of DOE is built using 3-level orthogonal arrays. Femur loads<br/> and knee intrusion displacements are calculated by FEM in each case. From the FEM results, sensitivities are<br/> evaluated. KIP index (Knee Impact Performance Index) is introduced to defined knee impact performance with<br/> respect to system mass (cost). Using this KIP index, optimization level of a system can be compared more<br/> objectively.
Sodium Lignosulfonate 표면처리가 탄산칼슘/폴리프로필렌 복합체에서 탄산칼슘의 분산에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 탄산칼슘(CaCO3)의 폴리프로필렌에 분산과 탄산칼슘 입자의 크기가 폴리프로필렌의 결정성에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 무기물로 충전된 고분자복합재료는 일반적으로 취성(brittleness)의 문제를 가지고 있으며, 이러한 문제는 주로 무기물입자의 크기와 분산에 의해서 영향을 받는다. 따라서 탄산칼슘의 분산성을 향상시키기 위한 방법으로 sodium lignosulfonate(SLS)의 함량을 달리하면서 탄산칼슘을 전처리하고 이에 따른 분산효과를 고찰하였다. 그 결과 3 wt%의 SLS로 처리된 탄산칼슘은 미처리 탄산칼슘에 비해 우수한 분산성을 보였으며, 열분석에서도 빠른 결정형성능을 보였다. 이러한 결정형성능은 탄산칼슘 입자의 크기에 의해서도 영향을 받았으며, 입자의 크기가 커지면 용융과 결정화 과정에서의 엔탈피 출입이 줄어드는 것으로 관찰되었다. 이러한 결과들은 무기물 고분자복합재료의 취성을 해결할 수 있는 단서를 제공한다고 할 수 있겠다. The dispersion of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in polypropylene (PP) and the effect of CaCO3 size on the crystallinity of PP were studied. Polymer composite usually suffers from the brittleness when reinforced with inorganic fillers. The problem is generally related to the size and dispersion of fillers. First, the dispersion was studied for the nanosize CaCO3 with 15~40 nm average diameter. To enhance the dispersibility in PP, the surface of the CaCO3 was treated with sodium lignosulfonate (SLS). CaCO3/PP composites were prepared via melt compounding. The CaCO3 coated with more than 3 wt% SLS was uniformly distributed within the PP matrix, while the uncoated CaCO3 formed aggregated structures in the PP. Even with 30 wt%, the SLS-CaCO3 was well dispersed in the PP matrix. Also, the transition enthalpy of CaCO3/PP increased and the full-width of half maximum of the crystallization peak decreased regardless of SLS coating and size of CaCO3. However, the crystallinity of PP was more influenced by nano CaCO3. These results imply that the nano CaCO3 coated with SLS may reduce the brittleness of polymer composites.
루버 핀 열교환기를 가지는 자동차용 히트펌프 시스템의 착상 특성 연구

The present study investigated the heating performance and frosting phenomenon of the heat pump system for vehicle, which is being developed to increase fuel efficiency of EV(Electric Vehicle) with maintaining thermal comfort. The experimental setup of a heat pump system consists of an electric compressor, an exterior louvered fin-flat tube condenser, an interior condenser, and an evaporator, block type thermal expansion valve and reservoir tank, which are used in actual HVAC system for vehicle. In this study, frosting phenomenon patterns of outside condenser having uniform air flow rate was visualized and heat pump performance is examined experimentally. In addition, the frosting phenomenon is compared with different compressor rpm. As results, non-uniform frosting phenomenon and non-frosting area in exterior condenser was occurred. The heating performance based on air side of interior condenser outlet was maximized within 4min. The heating performance was reduced 5.3% after 27min and 42% after 90min because of frosting in exterior condenser.
관상용 금붕어(Carassius auratus)의 비결핵항산균 감염증에 관한 고찰

In October 2021, goldfish (Carassius auratus) that reared in an aquarium continued to die and the cause analysis has begun. For diagnosis, biological, molecular and histopathological analysis were conducted, and samples are divided with symptomatic and asymptomatic objects. The 16s rRNA target region was identified from tissue (kidney+spleen) sample of asymptomatic fish, and the sequenced result shown 100% homology with Mycobacterium fortuitum. In histopathological studies, various size of granuloma and inflammatory regions are observed in kidney tissue of all tested fish, and acid-fast bacteria staining positive reactions are observed inside or outside the granuloma. In order to diagnose mycobacteriosis, accurate preparation is required along with various diagnostic methods, and more attention is needed in handling aquarium fish management to prevent mycobacteriosis.

플래시 메모리는 센서 네트워크가 가진 제약 조건을 만족하는 저장 매체이다. 그러나 센서 네트워크에 필요한 프로그램의 개발 환경은 불편하고, 가장 중요한 이슈인 에너지 소모에 대한 편리하고 정확한 측정 수단이 없는 것이 현실이다. 그에 따라 본 논문은 에너지 소모량의 측정을 지원하고 여러 플래시 메모리 환경을 조절하여 실험을 할 수 있는 플래시 메모리 소프트웨어 시뮬레이터를 설계 및 구현하였다.
