본 연구는 도시의 물리적 환경인자를 이용하여 쾌적성을 평가하고, 이를 토대로 대기, 수질 등 환경질과의 상관성을 파악하여 쾌적성 평가결과의 실효성을 검증하고자 한다. 물리적 환경인자는 공원·녹지, 경관, 수환경, 토지이용의 항목으로 분류하고, 11개의 세부인자를 설정하였다. 설정된 인자를 토대로 GIS 도면을 작성한 후, 중첩분석을 이용하여 최종적인 쾌적성 평가도면을 작성하였다. 분석결과를 살펴보면, 1, 2등급은 전체면적의 40.8%로 행정구역상 달성군, 동구, 수성구를 중심으로 나타났으며, 쾌적성이 낮은 6~7등급은 중구, 서구, 달서구 등을 중심으로 전체의 5.7%를 점하고 있었다. 다음으로 실효성 검증을 위해 실시한 쾌적성과 환경오염의 상관분석 결과, 대기의 경우 SO2와 r=-0.649의 상관성을 가졌으며, 수질의 경우 TN, TP와 r=-0.643, -0.642의 높은 음(-)의 상관관계를 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. The purpose of this study is to assess the urban amenity on physical environmental factors, and to verify the effectiveness of the amenity map using correlation analysis of the environmental quality. The physical environmental factors were set to 4 items of green space, landscape, water environment and land use, and the items were composed of 11 detail factors. Based on the factors, GIS maps were constructed and the amenity map was produced using overlay analysis. The results of this study are as follow; the proportion of 1~2 ranks was 40.8% of total area around Dalseong-gun, Dong-gu, Suseong-gu. The lower 6~7 ranks in the amenity assessment was 5.7% of total area around Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Dalseo-gu. According to the results of correlation analysis between the amenity and environmental observed data, SO2 among the air pollution material had a negative correlation with amenity(r=-0.649, p<0.05). In case of water pollution, TN and TP had the negative correlations with amenity (r=-0.643, P<0.01; r=0.642, p<0.01).

Objective: The aim is to evaluate the potential of the mesiodens through the comparative inorganic analysis of 3rd molar teeth prior to clinical study. Material and methods: The extracted mesiodens and the 3rd molar teeth were prepared. The teeth are prepared as in the process of the autogenous tooth bone graft. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was performed for inorganic analysis. Results: Rough and porous surfaces were observed in all materials in SEM analysis. Ca/P ratio of mesiodens was 1.55 and the 3rd molar was 1.22 in EDS analysis. XRD analysis shows that the 3 main peaks position were similar. This means that the graft materials are very similar to that of the crystallinity. Conclusions: The mesiodens and the 3rd molar teeth are very similar to the inorganic component. These results provide the reasonable rationale that mesiodens can be used as autogenous tooth bone graft in a clinic.
Design and Analysis of Sub-10 nm Junctionless Fin-Shaped Field-Effect Transistors

We design and analyze the n-channel junctionless fin-shaped field-effect transistor (JL FinFET) with 10-nm gate length and compare its performances with those of the conventional bulktype fin-shaped FET (conventional bulk FinFET). A three-dimensional (3-D) device simulations were performed to optimize the device design parameters including the width (Wfin) and height (Hfin) of the fin as well as the channel doping concentration (Nch). Based on the design optimization, the two devices were compared in terms of direct-current (DC) and radio-frequency (RF) characteristics. The results reveal that the JL FinFET has better subthreshold swing, and more effectively suppresses short-channel effects (SCEs) than the conventional bulk FinFET.
Symptomatic pheochromocytoma with normal urinary catecholamine levels

A 53-year old female presented with headache, sweating and chest discomport. On admission, she showed a left adrenal mass on CT scan. Repeated measurements of 24-hour urinary fractionated metanephrines, total catecholamines, vanillylmandelic acid (VMA) and plasma catecholamine were within normal range. Scintigraphic 131I-MIBG revealed selective concentration of the radiotracer, corresponding to the CT mass. Plasma and urine catecholamine levels were within normal range even during paroxysmal episodes. Successful surgical excision of the tumor was performed and the pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of a pheochromocytoma with a 2.3cm sized solid tumor. This is a rare case of a symptomatic pheochromocytoma without elevated catecholamine and its metabolite levels. Our case illustrates that in all patients with high clinical suspicion of pheochromocytoma, a routine nuclear scintigraphy should be performed even in the setting of normal biochemical testing.
Prevalence And Risk Factors For Atrial Fibrillation in the Elderly Korean Population

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia in elderly persons and associated with increased risk for thromboembolism and stroke. However, prevalence and risk factors for AF have not been known well in Korean population. Also, electrocardiographic (ECG) screening for AF in general population showed inconsistent results for reducing thromboembolism. We aimed to evaluate prevalence, risk factors for AF and benefit for ECG screening the elderly single cohort study. Methods: Consecutive 1,483 participants over 60 yr-old underwent ECG screening at the Bitgoel senior health town from March 2014.This cohort study include questionnaire for quality of life, physical examination, and further laboratory and echocardiographic findings in patients with AF. Multivariate analysis was performed to evaluate independent risk factors for AF. Benefit for ECG screening will be evaluated after 5-year completion of participants enrollment. Results: Prevalence of AF was 3.1% and increased with stepwise manner according to age group (1.0% vs. 3.3% vs. 7.2%, p<0.001). Patients with AF was elder, and more likely to be male, smoker and obese. Also, they had higher prevalence of diabetes mellitus and heart failure compared with patients without AF. Nearly half patients with AF (43.4 %) were newly detected via ECG screening. CHA2DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED score were not different between the patients with newly detected AF and already diagnosed AF. Anticoagulation was done 12 (26%) patients with CHA2DS2-VASc ≥2. Multivariable analysis demonstrated that AF was associated with increasing age (adjusted odds ratio [OR] 1.10, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.04-1.16, p<0.001), male gender (adjusted OR 4.92, 95% CI 1.75-13.82, >p=0.002), obesity (BMI >25, adjusted OR 2.25, 95% CI 1.19-4.24, p=0.012) and heart failure (adjusted OR 7.28, 95% CI 1.17-45.24, p=0.033). Conclusions: The prevalence of AF was 3.1% in the elderly, which was much lower than western countries. Most of them were under-detected and under-treated in terms of anticoagulation. Further studies will determine that routine ECG screening might reduce the risk for thromboembolism in patients with AF.

<P>Unraveling nanoscale spin structures has long been an important activity addressing various scientific interests, that are also readily adaptable to technological applications. This has invigorated the development of versatile nanoprobes suitable for imaging specimens under native conditions. Here we have demonstrated the resonant coherent diffraction of an artificial quasicrystal magnet with circularly polarized X-rays. The nanoscale magnetic structure was revealed from X-ray speckle patterns by comparing with micromagnetic simulations, as a step toward understanding the intricate relationship between the chemical and spin structures in an aperiodic quasicrystal lattice. Femtosecond X-ray pulses from free electron lasers are expected to immediately extend the current work to nanoscale structure investigations of ultrafast spin dynamics, surpassing the present spatio-temporal resolution.</P>

Background: The optimal timing of surgery for infective endocarditis complicated by embolic stroke is unclear. We compared early versus delayed surgery in these patients. Materials and Methods: Between 1992 and 2007, 56 consecutive patients underwent open cardiac surgery for the treatment of infective endocarditis complicated by acute septic embolic stroke, 34 within 2 weeks (early group) and 22 more than 2 weeks (delayed group) after the onset of stroke. Results: The mean age at time of surgery was 45.7±14.8 years. Stroke was ischemic in 42 patients and hemorrhagic in 14. Patients in the early group were more likely to have highly mobile, large (>1 cm in diameter) vegetation and less likely to have hemorrhagic infarction than those in the delayed group. There were two (3.7%) intraoperative deaths, both in the early group and attributed to neurologic aggravation. Among the 54 survivors, 4 (7.1%), that is, 2 in each group, showed neurologic aggravation. During a median follow-up of 61.7 months (range, 0.4∼170.4 months), there were 5 late deaths. Overall 5-year neurologic aggravation-free survival rates were 79.1±7.0% in the early group and 90.9±6.1% in the delayed group (p=0.113). Conclusion: Outcomes of early operation for infective endocarditis in stroke patients were similar to those of the conventional approach. Early surgical intervention may be preferable for patients at high risk of life-threatening septic embolism.
