The retroperitoneal space of the posterior abdomen and the pelvic retroperitoneum contain the major neural, vascular and lymphatic supply to the pelvic viscera, the urinary system and colorectal system. A pain or mass in the pelvis may arise primarily from the reproductive organs, but it may just as easily arise from the retroperitoneal space, include the urinary tract and the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, the gynecologic surgeon should be aware of the various conditions associated with retroperitoneal mass and the correct management of these disorders. Hydroureter may misdiagnose as a pelvic mass or retroperitoneal mass. The cause of hydroureter is mainly secondary obstruction such as malignancy, idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis and pelvic disease but primary obstructive megaureter should be considered. This report describes a case of marked hydroureter, misdiagnosed as a hydrosalpinx by ultrasound.

Purpose: Monoclonal antibody Ki-67 has been employed to evaluate the growth fraction of various tumors. The purpose of this study is to determin the prognostic value of the Ki-67 index for colorectal cancer. Methods: The Ki-67 index was investigated by counting the immunohistochemically stained cells. We described this as the permillage. We reviewed the test results of 36 colorectal cancer patients and we compared the Ki-67 index with other clinical factors. Results: There was no correlation between the Ki-67 index and the other established risk factors, and only the number of invaded lymph nodes and their degree of differentiation were related with the Ki-67 index. Conclusion: The Ki-67 index is an important marker of the growth fraction of tumor. The pattern of tumor growth is determined not only by the growth fraction, so the discovery of other parameters that can reflect tumor growth and the Ki-67 index can help the patients with respect to their prognosis & treatment.
대추 중 살균제 boscalid와 pyraclostrobin의 잔류 소실 특성

Dissipation pattern and biological half-lives of fungicides boscalid and pyraclostrobin were calculated on jujube. The pesticides were sprayed on jujube in two different field at the standard rate, respectively. The raw agricultural commodities were harvested at 0 (2 hr), 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 14 days after treatment, and analyzed by HPLC/DAD. The method limit of quantification (MLOQ) was 0.02 mg kg<SUP>−1</SUP> for boscalid and pyraclostrobin. The recovery ranged 101.8~109.3% with below 5% of CV (Coefficient of variation) for boscalid and 104.2~115.4% with below 5% of CV for pyraclostrobin. An average initial deposit at field 1 and field 2 samples were observed 0.40 and 0.48 mg kg<SUP>−1</SUP> for boscalid and, 0.76 and 0.57 mg kg−1 for pyraclostrobin, respectively. The biological half-lives of field 1 and field 2 were 11.0 and 13.2 day for boscalid, and 6.1 and 12.7 days for pyraclostrobin.
Efficient Face Recognition using Low-Dimensional PCA

This paper proposes a technique for principal component analysis (PCA) to raise the recognition rate of a front face in a low dimension by hierarchical image and parallel processing structure. The conventional PCA shows a recognition rate of less than 50% in a low dimension (dimensions 1 to 6) when used for facial recognition. In this paper, a face is formed as images of 3 fixed-size levels: the 1st being a region around the nose, the 2nd level a region including the eyes, nose, and mouth, and the 3rd level image is the whole face. PCA of the 3-level images is treated by parallel processing structure, and finally their similarities are combined for high recognition rate in a low dimension. The proposed method under went experimental feasibility study with ORL face database for evaluation of the face recognition function. The experimental demonstration has been done by PCA and the proposed method according to each level. The proposed method showed high recognition of over 50% from dimensions 1 to 6.

<P>We report the fabrication and characterization of 450 kg multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si) ingot through both controlled crystalline growth and minimization of the crystalline defects and impurities to enhance the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of mc-Si based solar cells. The concentrations of impurities were gradually increased from the center to the edge of mc-Si ingot caused by the incorporation of impurities from alumina crucible and internal furnace components. By further investigating the structural defects in mc-Si wafer, the solar cell performances of mc-Si wafers was found to be highly dependent on the minority carrier lifetime related to the crystal defects, grain orientation and boundaries. From the current density-voltage measurement of mc-Si based solar cells cut from block A, the obtained short current density (J(SC)), open circuit voltage (V-OC), and PCE (eta) were similar to 32.03 mA/cm(2), similar to 0.59 V, and similar to 14.65% under AM 1.5G illumination, respectively.</P>
