      • 超音速流(M∞=4.5)속에 놓인 Wedge 周邊의 密度分布

        本 硏究는 擴散型衝擊波管(Divergent Shock tube)에 依해서 만들어진 超音速流(M∞=4.5, R∞=1.1×??/cm) 속에 놓인 平面 Wedge 周邊의 密度分布를 Mach-Zehender 干涉計를 使用하여 Magnesium 擊發光源(4481Å)에 依한 干涉무늬를 寫眞으로 瞬間撮影하여 決定하는 것이다. Density distribution of the Supersonic flow past a plane wedge was determined by an optical method. Raynolds number of the Uniform flow which is generated by the shock tube is R∞=1.1×?? per centimeter and the Mach number is M∞=4.5. As an optical method the Mach-Zehender Interferometer was used mainly and the wave length of the light source is 4481Å utilizing the magnesium spark.

        Percutaneous needle biopsies of peritoneum with Abrams needle and Cope needle were done un 64 patients with non-purulent exudative ascites, who was admitted to the department of internal medicine, Chosun University hospital, from January 1978 to Deccmber 1983. The diagnostic significance and safety of the needle biopsy was estimated. The results were as follows. 1. Adequate peritoneal tissue for pathological diagnosis was obtained in 53 cases(82.8%) among 64 cases. (Abrams needle 84.8%, Cope needle 80.6%) 2. Definitive diagnosis was obtained in 31 cases among 53 cases (58.6%). (Tuberculosis 23 cases, malignancy 8 cases). 3. As compared final diagnosis with biopsy result, the rate of final diagnosis corresponding with biopsy diagnosis was 58.8% in tuberculosis and 26.3%, in malignancy, but the rate of biopsy diagnosis corresponding with final diagnosis was 100% in both tuberculosis and malignancy. 4. Cases of chronic non-specific inflammation which were diagnosed by biopsy were 13cases(24.5%)among 53 cases, and among these cases, tuberculosis was 69.2% and malignancy 30.8% on final diagnosis and among 53 cases, histologically normal was 9 cases(16.9%) of which 33.3% was tuberculosis and 66.7% was malignancy on final diagnosis. 5. Of the malignant cases on final diagnosis, Positive cytologic examination of ascitic fluid was 16.7% 6. Primary losions of cancerous peritonitis were stomach cancer (38.9%) hepatocellular cancer(22.2%) colon cancer (11.1%) ovarian cancer (11.1%) Pancreatic cancer (5.6%). 7. Complication of percutaneous peritoneal biopsy was local swelling with leakage of ascitic fluid and the accident rate were 36.4,% in Abraham needle and 3.2% in Cope needle.

      • 각종 암종질환에서 혈청구리 및 아연농도의 변화에 관한 연구

        The copper and zinc concentrations were measured in sera of 27 cases of hepatoma, 20 cases of stomach ca., 7 cases of esophageal ca., 12 cases of colorectal ca., 9 cases of lung ca., 18 cases of ovarian ca. and 48 cases of normal control in Chosun University Hospital from Jan. 1986 to July 1986. The results are as follows; 1. The mean concentration of copper in serum of normal control group was 96.0±5.02㎍/㎗ (Mean±2SE), in hepatoma, stomach ca., esophageal ca., colorectal ca., lung ca. and ovarian ca. concentrations were significantly increased each 126.4+12.77, 125.6±11.29, 140.5±14.23, 117.3±11.91, 181.4±30.56 and 130.5±13.80㎍/㎗ (P < 0. 001) in comparison with the mean value of normal control group. 2. The mean concentration of zinc in serum of normal control group was 104.8±3.40㎍/㎗ (Mean±2SE), in hepatoma and lung ca. concentrations were significantly decreased each 65.1±7.27 and 72.7±12.86 ㎍/㎗ (P < 0. 00l). 3. The ratio of serum copper level to zinc level (Cu/Zn ratio) in serum of normal control group was 0.94±0.057 in hepatoma, stomach ca., esophageal ca., lung ca. and ovarian ca. concentration ratios were significantly increased each 2.09±0.324, 1.86±0.122, 1.50±0.114, 2.55±0.513 and 1.51±0. 243 (P < 0.001).

        간장질환 환자의 혈중 α₁ - Antitrypsin 과 Prealbumin 에 관한 연구

        N/A The alpha-1-antitrypsin and prealbumin concentrations were measured in sera of 34 cases of liver cirrhosis, 20 cases of liver cirrhosis with hepatocellular carcinoma, 18 cases of primary hepatocellular carcinoma and 30 normal control cases in Chosun University Hospital from Jan. 1985 to July 1986. The results are follows: 1) The mean concentration of alpha-1-entitrypsin in blood of normal control group was 141±39.9mg%, in liver cirrhosis, liver cirrhosis with hepatocellular carcinoma and primary hepatocellular carcinoma concentrations were increases each 151.4±93.0, 185.8±71.8 (P<0.05) and 163.4±88.6 mg% in comparison with the mean value of normal control group. 2) The mean concentration of prealburnin in blood of normal control group was 174±65 mg9o, in liver cirrhosis, liver cirrhosis with hepatocellular carcinoma and primary hepatocellular carcinoma concentrations were significantly decreased each 101±49, 82±16 and 75±26 mg% fall P<0.01). 3) The mean concentrations of serum prealbumin in each group of liver diseases with low serum alpha-1-antitrypsin levels: liver cirrhosis (79.1±21.1), liver cirrhosis with hepatocellular carcinoma (41.0±12.0) and primary hepatacellular carcinoma (52.5±17.0 mg%) were significantly decreased (all P<0.01). Consequently, in chronic liver diseases, the serum alpha-1-antitrypsin levels were usually increases and prealbumin levels were significantly decreased in comparison with mean value of normal control group. In chronic liver diseases with low serum alpha-1-antitrypsin level, serum prealbumin concentrations were significantly decreased, This study show that patients with low serum alpha-1-antitrypsin level in chronic liver diseases have severe damage of parenchymal cells in liver.

        Roles of Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> promoter for an enhanced structural stability of ordered-mesoporous Co<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> catalyst during CO hydrogenation to hydrocarbons

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A crucial contribution of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> pillar for an enhanced structural stability of a highly ordered mesoporous Co<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> (Al/m-Co) for CO hydrogenation activity was verified in terms of newly formed stable phases with their interactions. At an optimal 5 wt%Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> on the Al/m-Co, the activity and stability of Fischer-Trospch synthesis (FTS) reaction were largely enhanced by preserving the highly ordered original mesoporous Co<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> structures due to the newly formed strong Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>-Co<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> interactions with the partial formation of the catalytically inactive spinel-type CoAl<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> phases in the matrices of the mesoporous Al/m-Co. The main roles of the Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> pillar on the Al/m-Co were a structural promoter to maintain the highly ordered mesoporous Co<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> structures by easily removing the heavy hydrocarbons formed during FTS reaction without significant coke depositions through those large mesopores. The homogeneously distributed Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> pillaring material less than monolayer on the Al/m-Co surfaces played a crucial role to preserve the original ordered mesoporous Co<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> structures through the partial formation of outer surface CoAl<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> phases with less blockages of active metallic cobalt sites by heavy coke precursors formed.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> pillared ordered-mesoporous Co<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> (Al/m-Co) showed a superior FTS activity and stability. </LI> <LI> Enhanced structural stability of Al/m-Co was from the partially formed thermally stable CoAl<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>. </LI> <LI> Main role of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> pillar was the structural promoter to maintain the ordered Co<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> structures. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

      • 가압경수로의 초장주기 무붕산 노심 핵설계

        A feasibility of nuclear design for the ultra-long cycle core with soluble boron free operation option was investigated for both a medium-sized PWR and a small-sized power reactor. For medium-sized reactor loaded with MOX fuel show ed a nuclear design feasibility for 54 months single-batch cycle. Excess reactivity was compensated by IFBA and WABA BP rods which has enriched B-10 up to 80%. For improving shutdown margin, B-10 in B4C shutdown rods which has enriched. Ag-In-Cd regulating banks were also used for excess reactivity control throughout the cycle. Axial offset and FQ were found to be kept within the safety limits. Shutdown margin was also preserved at the refueling cold standby condition. Stored energy during a rod ejection accident was far less than the safety limit. In a small-sized marine power reactor core loaded with U-10Zr metal alloy fuel, Gd203 and Pyrex down margin throughout longer single batch cycle of 12.5 EFP year. All kinds of safety parameters were found to be below their safety limits. With an installation of stainless steel radial reflector, average fuel enrichment level could be decreased by about 2~4w/o.

      • Preparation of cupric sulfate-based self-emulsifiable nanocomposites and their application to the photothermal therapy of colon adenocarcinoma

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Nanocomposites (NCs) of cupric sulfate monohydrate (CuSO<SUB>4</SUB>) were fabricated by hot-melt extrusion (HME) system equipped with twin screws. Micron-sized bulk powder of CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> was dispersed in the mixture of surfactants (Span 80 and Tween 80) and hydrophilic polymer (polyethylene glycol (PEG) 6000) by HME process. Reduction of surface tension by surfactants and homogeneous dispersion in hydrophilic polymer along with HME technique were introduced to prepare CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> NCs. Dispersion of CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> NCs exhibited approximately 204 nm hydrodynamic size, unimodal size distribution, and positive zeta potential values. Encapsulation of CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> in CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> NCs and the physicochemical interactions between CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> and pharmaceutical excipients were investigated by solid-state studies. Of note, CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> NCs group exhibited higher antiproliferation efficacies, compared with bulk CuSO<SUB>4</SUB>, in Caco-2 (human adenocarcinoma) cells at 75 and 100 μg/mL CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> concentrations (<I>p</I> < 0.05). Also, near-infrared laser irradiation to CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> NCs group elevated the antiproliferation efficacies, compared with non-irradiation group, in Caco-2 cells. After intravenous injection in mice, CuSO<SUB>4</SUB> NCs did not show severe <I>in vivo</I> toxicities.       • Development of iron(II) sulfate nanoparticles produced by hot-melt extrusion and their therapeutic potentials for colon cancer

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Particle size reduction of FeSO<SUB>4</SUB> (iron(II) sulfate, IS) from micron to nano size was achieved by a combination of hot-melt extrusion (HME) processing and the input of Span 80, Tween 80, and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) 6000. Conveying, kneading, and extruding steps of the HME process and a decrease in the surface tension by surfactants were introduced to produce FeSO<SUB>4</SUB> nanoparticles (NPs) in an aqueous environment. The FeSO<SUB>4</SUB>-based NPs (ISNPs) in the dispersion were composed of FeSO<SUB>4</SUB>, Span 80, Tween 80, and PEG 6000 and displayed a hydrodynamic size of 350–400 nm (5–50 mg/mL ISNPs concentration range) and a spherical shape. Considering the feeding ratio of FeSO<SUB>4</SUB> (20%, w/w) used for preparing the ISNPs, FeSO<SUB>4</SUB> appears to be wrapped by Span 80, Tween 80, and PEG 6000 according to the results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. ISNPs exhibited different thermodynamic properties from those of FeSO<SUB>4</SUB> itself. In colon adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cells, the ISNPs group exhibited enhanced antiproliferation and apoptosis potentials compared to the FeSO<SUB>4</SUB> group (<I>p</I> < 0.05). Histological staining data of a dissected intestine after oral administration of ISNPs suggest the absence of severe intestinal toxicities compared to the control (no treatment) group. All of these results imply the feasibility of the use of the developed ISNPs for the treatment of colon cancers with oral administration.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
