Impact of Dissection after Drug-Coated Balloon Treatment of De Novo Coronary Lesions: Angiographic and Clinical Outcomes

        Lin Hui,신은석,전은정,백영준,Scot Garg,김태현,손창배,최병주,Liu Kun,Song Lin Yuan,Wang Zhi,Jiang Hao,Shi Zhentao,Tang Qiang 연세대학교의과대학 2020 Yonsei medical journal Vol.61 No.12

Purpose: Dissection after plain balloon angioplasty is required to achieve adequate luminal area; however, it is associated with ahigh risk of vascular events. This study aimed to examine the relationship between non-flow limiting coronary dissections andsubsequent lumen loss and long-term clinical outcomes following successful drug-coated balloon (DCB) treatment of de novocoronary lesions. Materials and Methods: A total of 227 patients with good distal flow (Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction flow grade 3) followingDCB treatment were retrospectively enrolled and stratified according to the presence or absence of a non-flow limiting dissection. The primary endpoint was late lumen loss (LLL) at 6-month angiography, and the secondary endpoint was target vesselfailure (TVF, a composite of cardiac death, target vessel myocardial infarction, target vessel revascularization, and target vesselthrombosis). Results: The cohort consisted of 95 patients with and 132 patients without a dissection. There were no between-group differencesin LLL (90.8%) returning for angiography at 6 months (0.05±0.19 mm in non-dissection and 0.05±0.30 mm in dissection group, p=0.886) or in TVF (6.8% in non-dissection and 8.4% in dissection group, p=0.799) at a median follow-up of 3.4 years. In a multivariateanalysis, the presence of dissection and its severity were not associated with LLL or TVF. Almost dissections (93.9%) were completelyhealed, and there was no newly developed dissection at 6-month angiography. Conclusion: The presence of a dissection following successful DCB treatment of a de novo coronary lesion may not be associatedwith an increased risk of LLL or TVF (Impact of Drug-coated Balloon Treatment in de Novo Coronary Lesion; NCT04619277).

      • Research on Query Gain Routing Algorithms and Load Balancing Mechanism in Wireless Sensor Networks

        Jiang Hui-Lin,Qiao Li,Fu Yi-De 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.8 No.2

It is necessary to reduce the consumption of network node energy and the network load for solving the query design for routing algorithm in wireless sensor network, thus this article presents query gain routing algorithms and load balancing mechanism. This algorithm selects routing node by querying the routing information of gain matrix according to the successful record of historical query. The load balancing mechanism queries the energy information, which records node in the routing process and transfers load to balance the energy consumption of each node in the query path. This algorithm is able to effectively aware routing load to reduce the network energy consumption and avoid the data collision. The experimental result shows that compared with other query routing strategy, the query gain routing can increase the success rate of query under the condition of reducing the node energy consumption, but the load balancing mechanism can reduce the energy consumption of query gain routing further and prolong the network life cycle more effectively.

      • Seismic performance of Bujian Puzuo considering scale ratio and vertical load effects

        Yong-Hui Jiang,Jun-Xiao He,Lei Zhu,Lin-Lin Xie,Shuo Fang 국제구조공학회 2024 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.90 No.5

This study investigated the influence of scale ratio and vertical load on the seismic performance of Puzuo joints in traditional Chinese timber structures. Three low-cyclic reversed loading tests were conducted on three scaled specimens of Bujian Puzuo in Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. This study focused on the deformation patterns and analyzed seismic performance under varying scale ratios and vertical loads. The results indicated that the slip and rotational deformations of Bujian Puzuo were the primary deformations. The scale of the specimen did not affect the layer where the maximum interlayer slip occurred, but it did decrease the proportion of slip deformation. Conversely, the reducing vertical load caused the layer with the maximum slippage and the position of the damaged Dou components to shift upward, and the proportion of slip deformation increased. When the vertical load was decreased by 3.7 times, the maximum horizontal bearing capacity under positive and negative loadings, initial stiffness, and energy dissipation of the specimen decreased by approximately 60%, 58.79%, 69.62%, and 57.93%, respectively. The horizontal bearing capacity under positive loading and energy dissipation of the specimen increased by 35.63% and 131.54%, when the specimen scale was doubled and the vertical load was increased by 15 times.

Antioxidant Action of a Chrysanthemum morifolium Extract Protects Rat Brain Against Ischemia and Reperfusion Injury

        Guo-Hua Lin,Lin Lin,Hua-Wei Liang,Xin Ma,Jing-Ye Wang,Li-Ping Wu,Hui-Di Jiang,Iain C. Bruce,Qiang Xia 한국식품영양과학회 2010 Journal of medicinal food Vol.13 No.2

The present study evaluated the potential neuroprotective effect and underlying mechanism of the total flavones extracted from Chrysanthemum morifolium (TFCM) against ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. An animal model of cerebral ischemia was established by occluding the right middle cerebral artery for 90 minutes followed by reperfusion for 22 hours. The neurobehavioral scores, infarct area, and hemispheric edema were evaluated. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) level in brain were also measured. The results showed that pretreatment with TFCM significantly decreased the neurological deficit scores, percentage of infarction, and brain edema and attenuated the decrease in SOD activity, the elevation of MDA content, and the generation of ROS. In isolated brain mitochondria, Ca2+-induced swelling was attenuated by pretreatment with TFCM, and this effect was antagonized by atractyloside. These results showed that pretreatment with TFCM provides significant protection against cerebral I/R injury in rats by, at least in part, its antioxidant action and consequent inhibition of mitochondrial swelling.

        HUI LI,QUAN LIN,CHUANXI WANG,YINGNAN JIANG,ZHANCHEN CUI 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2014 NANO Vol.9 No.1

Lanthanide-doped luminescent nanoscale materials have great potential applications in biologicalresearches. Herein, we reported a novel and mild method for one-step synthesis of chitosan/NaGdF 4 :Eu 3 þnanocomposites. The luminescent Eu 3 þions and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) contrast agent Gd 3 þions were incorporated to these biocompatible nanocomposites. Theresultant nanocomposites exhibited strong °uorescence and attractive magnetic features. Thenanocomposites also have pure hexagonal phase with uniform size of about 65 nm. FT-IR spectrarevealed that these nanocomposites were successfully coated by hydrophilic chitosan, whoseamine groups conferred the nanocomposites excellent dispensability in aqueous solution. Besides, the MTT assay and laser confocal microscopy images have con¯rmed the good biocompatibilityof the nanocomposites. These results indicated that the as-prepared nanocomposites could beused as an excellent targeted imaging agent in biological felds.

BMB Reports : Kaiso represses the expression of glucocorticoid receptor via a methylation-dependent mechanism and attenuates the anti-apoptotic activity of glucocorticoids in breast cancer cells

( Lin Zhou ),( Yan Zhong ),( Fang Hui Yang ),( Zi Bo Li ),( Jiang Zhou ),( Xie Hong Liu ),( Min Li ),( Fang Hu ) 생화학분자생물학회 2016 BMB Reports Vol.49 No.3

Kaiso is a Pox Virus and Zinc Finger (POZ-ZF) transcription factor with bi-modal DNA-binding specificity. Here, we demonstrated that Kaiso expression is inversely correlated with glucocorticoid receptor (GR) expression in breast carcinomas. Knockdown of Kaiso increased GR expression, while overexpression of Kaiso inhibited GR expression in breast cancer cells. Furthermore, Kaiso repressed GR proximal promoter-reporter activity in a dose-dependent manner. Remarkably, ChIP experiments demonstrated that endogenous Kaiso was associated with the GR promoter sequence in a methylation-dependent manner. Since glucocorticoids inhibit chemotherapyinduced apoptosis and have been widely used as a co-treatment of patients with breast cancer, we assessed the role of Kasio in GR-mediated anti-apoptotic effects. We found that overexpression of Kaiso attenuated the anti-apoptotic effects of glucocorticoids in breast cancer cells. Our findings suggest that GR is a putative target gene of Kaiso and suggest Kaiso to be a potential therapeutic target in GC-combination chemotherapy in breast cancer. Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Horseradish Peroxidase Using Nanosilver

        Jiang, Zhi-Liang,Tang, Ya-Fang,Wei, Lin,Liang, Ai-Hui Korean Chemical Society 2011 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.32 No.8

In pH 4.2 HAc-NaAc buffer solution, horseradish peroxidase (HRP) catalyzed $H_2O_2$ oxidation of nanosilver to form $Ag^+$. After centrifugation, $Ag^+$ in the supernatant can be measured by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry (GFAAS) at the silver absorption wavelength of 328.1 nm. When HRP concentration increased, the $Ag^+$ concentration in the supernatant increased, and the absorption value enhanced. The HRP concentration in the range of 0.84-50 $ng{\cdot}mL^{-1}$ was linear to the enhanced absorption value (${\Delta}A$), with a regression equation of ${\Delta}A$=0.012C+0.11, correlation coefficient of 0.9988, and detection limit of 0.41 $ng{\cdot}mL^{-1}$ HRP. The proposed GFAAS method was used to detect HRP in waste water samples, with satisfactory results.

Host-specificity of symbiotic mycorrhizal fungi for enhancing seed germination, protocorm formation and seedling development of over-collected medicinal orchid, Dendrobium devonianum

        Hui Huang,Xiao-Meng Zi,Hua Lin,Jiang-Yun Gao 한국미생물학회 2018 The journal of microbiology Vol.56 No.1

All orchids maintain an obligate relationship with mycorrhizal symbionts during seed germination. In most cases, germination-enhancing fungi have been isolated from roots of mature plants for conservation and cultivation purposes. To understand the germination biology of Dendrobium devonianum, an over-collected medicinal orchid, the seeds of D. devonianum were inoculated with a fungal strain (FDd1) isolated from naturally occurring protocorms of D. devonianum and two other germination-enhancing fungal strains (FDaI7 and FCb4) from D. aphyllum and Cymbidium mannii, respectively. The fungal strain was isolated from five protocorms of D. devonianum and identified as a species of the genus Epulorhiza. In germination trials, treatments with all of the three fungal strains showed a significant promoting effect on seed germination and protocorm formation, compared with the control treatment (no inoculation). However, FDd1 fungal strain showed the greatest effectiveness followed by FDaI7 and FCb4. For all inoculation and control treatments, seeds developed to protocorms regardless of the presence of illumination, whereas protocorms did not develop to seedlings unless illumination was provided. The results of our manipulative experiments confirmed the hypothesis that mycorrhizae associated with orchid seedlings are highly host-specific, and the degree of specificity may be life stagespecific under in vitro conditions. The specific mycorrhizal symbionts from protocorms can enhance restoration efforts and the conservation of orchids such as D. devonianum.

Controlled Synthesis of Hydroxyapatite Using a Novel Natural Rosin-Based Surfactant

        Shu-Hui Zhan,Xue-He Jiang,Juan Li,Zhi Meng,Lin-Lin Chen,Chun-Rui Han 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2017 NANO Vol.12 No.8

Hydroxyapatite (HAP) with multiform morphologies, such as hollow dandelion-like bundles and nanoparticles with a diameter of 50 nm, was prepared using natural rosin-based surfactant dehydroabietyl phosphate diester (DDPD) as phosphorus source, crystal growth control agent, and template simultaneously by a facile hydrothermal method. Samples were obtained and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results showed that DDPD and pH value of solution were the key factors for the morphology of HAP. Hollow dandelion-like bundles HAP, containing the Ca-monodehydroabietyl phosphate (PM-Ca) organic metal compounds, were formed at pH=3 without acid-base regulation, and nanoparticles were obtained at pH=12. SEM exhibited that the hollow dandelion-like bundles HAP are of 10 μm (outer) and 1 μm (inner) diameter, respectively. Cell viabilities are above 95% when the cells are co-cultured with all HAP samples at concentrations in the range of 250–1000 μg/ml. It indicated that the prepared HAP with PM-Ca has a good cytocompatibility without apparent toxicity. Finally, the possible formation mechanism of the HAP microstructures was discussed in detail.
