Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between nursing students' nursing informatics competencies and problem solving skills. Methods: Data were collected from a convenient sample of 181 nursing students at 14 universities in Korea from September 20th, 2015 to February 25th, 2015. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Results: The mean score for nursing informatics competencies and problem solving skills were respectively 3.57±0.74 and 3.35±0.65. Relationship of nursing informatics competencies to problem solving skills was statistically significant(r=.785, p<.01). Conclusion: The result of this study suggests that nursing informatics competencies is significantly related to problem solving skills of the nursing students. Therefore, nursing informatics education program for the nursing students would be a helpful intervention for problem solving skills of the nursing students. And further studies are required with more sample sizes and more systematic data collecting methods to confirm these results.

Evapotranspiration (ET) is a critical component of the hydrologic cycle which influences economic activities as well as the natural ecosystem. While there have been numerous studies on ET estimation for homogeneous areas using point measurements of meteorological variables, monitoring of spatial ET has not been possible at landscape - or watershed - scales. We propose a site-specific application of the land surface model, which is enabled by spatially interpolated input data at the desired resolution. Gyunggi Province of South Korea was divided into a regular grid of 10 million cells with 30m spacing and hourly temperature, humidity, wind, precipitation and solar irradiance were estimated for each grid cell by spatial interpolation of synoptic weather data. Topoclimatology models were used to accommodate effects of topography in a spatial interpolation procedure, including cold air drainage on nocturnal temperature and solar irradiance on daytime temperature. Satellite remote sensing data were used to classify the vegetation type of each grid cell, and corresponding spatial attributes including soil texture, canopy structure, and phenological features were identified. All data were fed into a standalone version of SiB2(Simple Biosphere Modell) to simulate latent heat flux at each grid cell. A computer program was written for data management in the cell - based SiB2 operation such as extracting input data for SiB2 from grid matrices and recombining the output data back to the grid format. ET estimates at selected grid cells were validated against the actual measurement of latent heat fluxes by eddy covariance measurement. We applied this system to obtain the spatial ET of the study area on a continuous basis for the 2001-2003 period. The results showed a strong feasibility of using spatial - data driven land surface models for operational monitoring of regional ET.

In this study, poly [(N-10'-dodecyl-phenothizin-3,7-ylene)-alt-(2,2'-bithiophen-5-yl)] (P1) and poly [(N-10'-dodecyl-phenothiazin-3,7-ylene)-alt-(5',6'-dioctyloxy-benzothiadiazole-bithiophene)] (P2) were synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction. Optical and electrochemical characteristics of the synthesized polymers, P1 and P2, were then analyzed, indicating that their wavelength of maximum absorption was 453nm and 533nm, respectively, and their band-gap was 1.93eV and 1.74eV, respectively. The maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic photovoltaic cells created by using P1 and P2 were 0.74% (P1:PC<SUB>71</SUB>BM=1:4,w/w) and 1.00% (P2:PC<SUB>71</SUB>BM=1:3,w/w), respectively, and the short circuit current density (J<SUB>SC</SUB>), fill factor (FF), and open circuit voltage (V<SUB>OC</SUB>) of the device were 3.5mA/cm<SUP>2</SUP>, 31.8%, and 0.68V, respectively, for P1 and 3.9mA/cm<SUP>2</SUP>, 32.7%, and 0.78V, respectively, for P2.

Seasonal changes of milk components. proportion of rejected milk, bacterial counts and the relationship between milk fat and solid-not-fat (SNF) of t irm milk were studied over a period of two years(1987- 1988). The results obtained were as follows: 1. Mean values of milk fat. protein, lactose, SNF and total solid were 3.72, 3.19. 4.60. 8.68, and 12.40% respectively. 2. A significant correlation coeffcient exsisted between milk fat and SNF content (P<0.01). The coeffcient and regression equation in the first and second year were r=0.347, Y=7.637+0.2777x and r=0.292, Y=7.715 +0.254X respectively. 3. The incidence of rejected milk was 0.75% of total quantity of raw milk recieved. It was higher rejected milk percentage than other region of the mainland and was affected greatly by season. 4. Coli-form bacterial count of the raw milk samples showed 46.3%m were under 100.000 cfu/ml and 53.7% were over 100,000 cfu/ml. 5. More than 4 ×10^(7) cfu/ml live bacteria were counted in the raw milk with 53.8% of the farm surveyed.

저자들의 간유입 혈류 차단 및 문맥-하대정맥 문합술을 이용한 허혈성 간부전 모델은 간부전 및 간조직의 괴사가 지속적으로 진행되고 반복성(reproducibility), 간부전으로 부터의 사망(death from hepatic failure), 긴 생존기간(therapeutic window),큰 동물(large animal)사용, 실험지의 안전성(minimum hazard to perponnel)과 같은 점들을 만족 시켜 급성 간부전의 새로은 치료방법의 개발, 병인의 연구 그리고 인공간 개발 등의 효능 측정 등에 유용하게 사용되리라 사료된다. (Background) Experimental studies on acute liver failure(ALF)are necessary to evaluate the pathogenesis or the possible methods of ameliorating this life-threatening condition,despite the fact that the animal models are not similar to human cases.In this research, the effects of total devascularization of the liver with portocaval shunt were evaluated in pigs. (Methods) Ten female pigs weighing about 30㎏ each were used.Total devascularization of the liver with end-to-side portocaval shunt was performed under general anesthesia.Blood samples were obtained serially to assay serum ammonia, aspartate aminotransferase(AST), albumin, and intracranial pressure was also performed to evaluate the progression of hepatic encephalopathy. (Results) The average survival time was 22.1±9.15(mean±SD)hours after surgery. Clinically, the pigs showed a uniform course.They became lethargic after 4-8 hours and following a period of increased drowsiness, they became comatose and died. The concentration of the amonium ion and AST in the blood increased significantly and BCAA/AAA decreased constantly, all of which were indicative of progression of hepatic failure and hepatic necrosis.Intracranial pressure progressively increased as we see in human cases of ALF.On the other hand, the level of serum albumin did not markerdly change due to its long half life. (Conclusion) The pig model for ALF is reproducible without biohazard, it causes constant death from hepatic failure, and it has a relatively long therapeutic window which allows the institution of supportive procedures to be tested.Therefore, our liver failure model is recommended to elaluate possible supportive measures against ALF.
The distribution of vascular plants in Banronsan (Mt.) at Jeongseon Gangwon-do, Korea

To study the distribution of vascular plants in Banronsan (Mt.) located in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea. The vascular flora in Banronsan (Mt.) were surveyed a total of four times-three times from May 2010 to October 2010, and once in August 2012. This result revealed 447 taxa in total: 89 families, 278 genera, 390 species, four subspecies, 47 varieties, and six form. In the flora of this area, 15 taxa were Korean endemic plants including Aconitum pseudolaeve Nakai, Lysimachia coreana Nakai, and Saussurea macrolepis (Nakai) Kitam., and 17 taxa were rare and endangered plants of Korea including Astragalus koraiensis Y.N. Lee, Pseudostellaria japonica Pax, and Paeonia japonica (Makino) Miyabe and Takeda. Three taxa were found as a special forest conservation species designated by the Korea Forest Service including Delphinium maackianum Regel and Daphne pseudomezereum var. koreana (Nakai) Hamaya. Besides, 76 taxa were found to be specific floristic plants designated by the Ministry of Environment, whereas naturalized plants in this area were 32 taxa. Resource plants were categorized by usage into eight groups: 189 edible, four fiber, 127 medical, 48 ornamental, 150 pasturing, three industrial, 10 dyeing, and eight timber plants.

Carbon-free CuInSe<SUB>2</SUB> (CIS) thin film with a dense microstructure has been prepared using a novel non-vacuum based fabrication route. Cu<SUB>x</SUB>S<SUB>y</SUB> and In<SUB>2</SUB>Se<SUB>3</SUB> binary nanoparticles, approximately 10 nm in size, were synthesized by a low temperature colloidal process. The precursor film was deposited using the coating ink formulated with the binary nanoparticles and pyridine, and then annealed in the rapid thermal annealing (RTA) chamber at 540 <SUP>o</SUP>C for 15 min under selenium (Se) atmosphere. Scanning electron micrographs, X-ray diffraction patterns and Raman spectra showed a phase pure carbon-free and dense CIS thin film was prepared in this method. A solar cell device fabricated using this CIS thin film showed the following photovoltaic characteristics: V<SUB>OC</SUB> = 350 mV, J<SUB>SC</SUB> = 24.72 mA cm<SUP>-2</SUP>, FF = 38.73% and η = 3.36% under standard AM 1.5 condition.
