The incidence of polypharmacy-which can result in drug-drug interactions-has increased in recent years. Drug-metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters are important polypharmacy modulators. In this study, the effects of bosentan and rifampin on the expression and activities of organic anion-transporting peptide (OATP) and cytochrome P450 (CYP450) 2C9 and CYP3A4 were investigated in vitro. HEK293 cells and primary human hepatocytes overexpressing the target genes were treated with bosentan and various concentrations of rifampin, which decreased the uptake activities of OATP transporters in a dose-dependent manner. In primary human hepatocytes, CYP2C9 and CYP3A4 gene expression and activities decreased upon treatment with 20 μM bosentan+200 μM rifampin. Rifampin also reduced gene expression of OATP1B1, OATP1B3, and OATP2B1 transporter, and inhibited bosentan influx in human hepatocytes at increasing concentrations. These results confirm rifampin- and bosentan-induced interactions between OATP transporters and CYP450.

Influence of Segregation on Microstructure and Hot Workability of Grade 250 Maraging Steel

The optimal process parameters of grade 250 maraging steel for hot forging were investigated with a process map and microstructureanalysis. To generate the process map, hot compression tests were performed at 800–1200 °C and strain rates of0.01–5 s−1. The flow stress–strain curves were calibrated by Bayesian artificial neural network (ANN) modeling to compensatethe heat generated by dynamic deformation. The Ni and Mo segregation during the solidification of the ingot causedalternating layers of Ni- and Mo-rich and -lean bands, which affected the recrystallization behavior during hot compression. According to the calculated process map, 1100–1200 °C × 0.01–0.7 s−1 and 1000–1200 °C × 0.01–0.2 s−1 are favorableprocess conditions that ensure wide process windows in terms of strain rate and temperature, respectively. The commonfeatures of the microstructure deformed under both conditions were relatively coarse martensite blocks and low values in theelectron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) kernel average misorientation (KAM) results (i.e., low residual stresses), whichwere attributed to a low fraction of fine martensite block region.

In this paper, we desire to design real time image processing system to change a various chromaticity in HDTV that has 1344*806 resolution and requires a high-speed 65MHz operation. In order to change the image chromaticity, it is necessary to calculate the color temperature of the image. Conventional way of calculating the temperature uses 2-D algorithm that requires bulky hardware. This paper propose a one-dimensional color-temperature conversion that reduces the hardware complexity while keeping the performance of the 2-D algorithm. The proposed method is realized by using the Xilinx Virtex FPGA XCV 2000E-6BG560.

Through-glass vias (TGVs) have been extensively researched due to the unique properties of glass,including low dielectric constant, high transparency, high mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance,and low cost. The TGVs are typicallyfilled with Cu by electrodeposition to make electrical connections inhigh-performance electronics with 3D integration. The Cu electrodeposition process employed tofill thethrough-holes is similar to the one used for printed circuit boards (PCBs), and defect-free Cu can beachieved with a butterflyfilling mechanism. This study introduces the defect-free Cufilling of TGVs usingpolyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a leveler. The effects of PVP molecular weight on the formation ofsuppression layers on the Cu surface was examined by electrochemical analyses. It was found that thesmaller PVP (10,000 g/mol) was beneficial, forming a more compact suppression layer. In contrast, thelayer of larger PVPs (360,000 g/mol) contained a large number of defects where the accelerator couldadsorb, resulting in conformal electrodeposition. As a result, the PVP with a molecular weight of 10,000 g/mol led to defect-free butterflyfilling at TGVs with increasing thefilling performance by 20% compared tothe larger PVP.
