Acinetobacter species is a non-fermentative aerobic gram-negative coccobacillus that is an important pathogen found in nosocomial infections. Recently, multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MDR-AB) infections have been increasing and pose a serious problem. Most such infections present as bacteremia, pneumonia, or a wound infection; however, CNS infections are very rare. We herein present a case of ventriculitis caused by MDR-AB in a 37-year old man after a neurosurgical intervention. The patient was successfully treated with intrathecal colistimethate.

The results are as follows: (1) Elementary school students apply different rules to problem-solving on electric circuits which is consisted of batteries and bulb; (2) They apply the following rules; In a 4-th grader, the more bulbs and batteries are, the lighter bulbs are, in a 5-th grader, the more batteries are, the lighter bulbs are, and in a 6-th grader, the more bulbs are, the darker bulbs are and if bulbs are parallel, then bulbs become dark.

The purpose of this survey was to obtain information about the status. attitudes and values KNUPE' 1996 freshmen. A questionnaire was administered to 345 KNUPE freshmen. Data was analyzed by SPSS, a computer statistical package and the results of comparing the responses to each question with respect to sex and department were presented. The conclusions obtained from the results and discussions of this study are as follows: First, freshmen could be categorized into two groups having different views towards university life and in their plans for the future. Therefore the faculty and staff should take these into consideration when they establish university policies. Second, great concern was shared by many with regards to their career and systematic help is needed to develop mature occupational identity. therefore, the student guidance center is planning to introduce a group counseling program starting in the spring of 1997. This study is limited because the survey had a low response rate. It is imperative that the faculty and staff be more cooperative in this survey to better understand the interest of all students.
인삼이 사염화탄소중독에 의한 간당원함량 변화에 미치는 영향에 관한 조직화학적 연구

This study was aimed to investigate the effect of Ginseng on the glycogen contents in CCl_1 intoxicated rat liver. For this study, the experimental animals were divided into, 4 groups; norma| group, CCl_1 intoxicated control group. G-Ⅰ group treated with Ginseng after CCl_1 intoxication and G-Ⅱ group treated with Ginseng both before and after CCl_1 intoxication. And animals were sacrificed at the intervals of 12 hours, 1, 2, 4 and 6 days following the CCl_1 feeding. Glycogen granules in hepatic lobule were stained by method of Periodic acid-Schiff reaction. The results obtained are summarized as follow; 1 The glycogen in hepatic lobule in normal group showed strong PAS reaction, but that in CCl_1 intoxicated control group showed PAS negative reaction at 12 hours and 1 day. mild PAS reaction at 2 and 4 days and strong PAS reaction at 6 days after the CCl_1 intoxication 2, The contents of glycogen in central region of hepatic lobule in G-Ⅰ and G-Ⅱ group showed slight increase as compared with CCl_1 intoxicated control group at 4 days after the CCl_1 intoxication. 3. The contents of glycogen in peripheral region of hepatic lobule in G-Ⅰ group showed significant increse as compared with CCl_1 intoxicated control group at 4 days after the CCl_1 intoxication, and that in G-Ⅱ group showed significant increase at 12 hours 1, 2 and 4 days 4. The increase of glycogen contents in hepatic lobule was more prominent in peripheral region than in central region, especially this effect was also more prominent in G-Ⅱ group than in G-Ⅰ group. As mentioned above it has been shown that the glycogen contents of hepatic lobule was reduced by carbon tetrachloride and was rapidly increased in a Ginseng-treated liver.
