      • CD4<sup>+</sup>CD25<sup>+</sup> regulatory T cells attenuate cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in mice

        Nephrotoxicity limits the use of cisplatin, a widely used chemotherapeutic agent for treatment of various malignancies. Overall, CD4<SUP>+</SUP> T cells mediate cisplatin-induced renal injury; however, the CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD25<SUP>+</SUP> regulatory T-cell subset (CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD25<SUP>+</SUP> Treg) has broad suppressive effects on many different cell types. In this study, we determined whether CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD25<SUP>+</SUP> Treg cells had protective effects against cisplatin-induced acute renal injury in nu/nu mice that lack mature T cells. In these mice, there was marked attenuation of the decreased survival, renal dysfunction and tubular injury, renal tumor necrosis factor-α, and interleukin-1β cytokine levels. Furthermore, renal macrophage accumulation was reduced in CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD25<SUP>+</SUP> Treg cell-adoptive transferred nu/nu mice compared with control mice. Infusion of CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD25<SUP>+</SUP>Treg cells into wild-type Balb/c mice reduced serum blood urea nitrogen and creatinine levels equivalent to those in nu/nu mice and extended their survival time after cisplatin injection. In contrast, depletion of CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD25<SUP>+</SUP> Treg cells in wild-type mice exacerbated kidney injury after cisplatin administration. Transcription factor Foxp3-positive cells (Treg cells) were detected in the kidneys of nu/nu mice after cisplatin injection. Our results suggest that CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD25<SUP>+</SUP> Treg cells directly affect cisplatin nephrotoxicity and their modulation represents an additional treatment strategy.

        Nanodiamond/gold nanorod nanocomposites with tunable light-absorptive and local plasmonic properties

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Nanodiamonds (NDs) have potential as platform materials for biological and biomedical applications depending on the combinatorial complex designs. Bimetallic nanocomposites with ND and gold nanorods (AuNRs) were synthesized and obtained at tunable UV absorption wavelengths by controlling the aspect ratio of AuNR. The nanodiamond/AuNR nanocomposites (NDAuNR) with fine tuning ultraviolet/visible/near-infrared (UV–vis-NIR) extinction were prepared using a cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)-surfactant-based seedless growth method. NDAuNRs varied with UV absorption wavelengths and aspect ratios, providing the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect. Compared to AuNR/800nm with the same UV absorption wavelength, NDAuNR/800nm showed 12.1% and 9.8% higher SERS intensity ratios of I<SUB>1620</SUB>/I<SUB>520</SUB> and I<SUB>420</SUB>/I<SUB>520</SUB>, respectively, for methylene blue of concentration 10<SUP>−5</SUP> M. The enhanced SERS intensity of NDAuNR/800nm indicates that electron mobility was facilitated at the interface between ND and AuNRs, and a larger contact area owing to a larger aspect ratio resulted in a higher SERS effect. The study demonstrated that NDAuNR nanocomposites enhanced the photo-responsive reactivity in SERS, resulting in potentially promising biomedical applications in sensor, imaging, and photothermal therapy.         Element of Pure Weld Metal(PWM) is important factor that understand to analyze Flux's conduct in Submerged Arc Welding(SAW). For elements of PWM were got, pile-up welding over 10 floor have used in the past. But, it take a long time to analyze elements of PWM in this method. Elements of PWM is needed to seize more easily. In this research, no using pile-up welding over 10 floor, bead welding is used to graps an element of PWM using mathematical formula which get to be derivation. The value calculated mathmatically was compared with the actual value of pile-up welding.

        Implementing antimicrobial stewardship: lessons and perspectives from a university-affiliated tertiary hospital in Korea

        Antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASPs) can lower antibiotic use, decrease medical expenses, prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, and enhance treatment for infectious diseases. This study summarizes the stepwise implementation and effects of ASPs in a single university-affiliated tertiary care hospital in Korea; it also presents future directions and challenges in resource-limited settings. At the study hospital, the core elements of the ASP such as leadership commitment, accountability, and operating system were established in 2000, then strengthened by the formation of the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Team in 2018. The actions of ASPs entail key components including a computerized restrictive antibiotic prescription system, prospective audit, post-prescription review through quantitative and qualitative intervention, and pharmacy-based interventions to optimize antibiotic usage. The AMS Team regularly tracked antibiotic use, the effects of interventions, and the resistance patterns of pathogens in the hospital. The reporting system was enhanced and standardized by participation in the Korea National Antimicrobial Use Analysis System, and educational efforts are ongoing. Stepwise implementation of the ASP and the efforts of the AMS Team have led to a substantial reduction in the overall consumption of antibiotics, particularly regarding injectables, and optimization of antibiotic use. Our experience highlights the importance of leadership, accountability, institution-specific interventions, and the AMS Team.

        자동차산업의 기업간 거래유형이 생산성에 미치는 효과

        통상 기업간 거래방식에는 장기․협력적(long-term cooperative) 거래와 시장(arm's length) 거래의 두 유형이 있으며, 장기․협력적 거래는 다시 거래상대방의 수에 따라 전속거래와 네트워크거래로 나눌 수 있다. 일본이나 우리나라의 사례에서 보듯이 장기․협력적 거래방식이 지식의 전파 및 확산, 생산성 향상, 위험 공유 등을 통해 적어도 산업화 초기단계에는 기업성과 제고에 유효하다는 데에 대체적인 동의가 이루어져 왔다. 우리나라 주력산업의 하나인 자동차산업에서도 지금까지 지배적인 기업간 거래방식은 장기․협력적 거래였고 그 중에서도 특히 공급기업이 1, 2개의 수요기업들하고만 장기 지속적으로 거래하는 전속거래가 지배적이었다. 그러나 외환위기 이후 세계화, 개방화가 빠르게 진행되고 경쟁압력이 높아지면서 이러한 기업간 거래방식에도 적지 않은 변화가 나타나고 있다. 즉 최근에는 수요기업이나 공급기업 모두 복수의 상대와 거래하는 네트워크거래로 이행하는 추세가 나타나고 있는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이론적 모형을 통해 전속거래에 대비한 네트워크 거래의 경제적 효율성을 살펴보고, 이들 거래방식 간 경제적 효과를 자동차산업을 대상으로 실증적으로 살펴보았다. 복점경쟁을 도입한 이론모형 분석 결과 네트워크거래는 전속거래에 비해 거래의 안정성은 떨어지나 경쟁 촉진, 거래비용 절감, 품질 향상, 정보 및 지식의 공유·확산, 학습효과 제고 등을 통해 경제 전체적인 효율성을 높이고 기업 입장에서도 상대적으로 높은 이윤을 창출하는 것으로 분석되었다. 아울러 패널자료(1985~2002)를 이용한 실증분석에서도 네트워크거래는 자동차부품기업의 총요소생산성에 긍정적인 효과를 미친 것으로 분석되었다. The recent globalisation of the world economy has strengthened competition in all industries. Facing an intensely competitive environment, a firm's choice of trade pattern is one of the most important strategies in enhancing its competitiveness. Among inter-firm trade patterns the cooperative trade system has proved to be superior to arms-length or market-oriented trade in the long run. Within the cooperative trade system, the transition from dedicated (single supplier) trade to network trade is proving a remarkable phenomenon. In this paper, firstly by way of a review of the literature and a theoretical model, we compare the relative economic efficiencies between the dedicated and the network trade systems in terms of facilitation of competition, cost reduction, quality improvement, knowledge and information sharing, and learning effect. Then in our empirical analysis, we examine the relationship between alternative trade patterns and the productivity of the automobile industry. The main results of the theoretical model show that network trade results in a higher profit level than dedicated trade as a rule, although network trade is less stable than dedicated trade. Empirical study reveals that increasing network trade leads to higher productivity.

        네트워크 라우팅을 위한 개선된 AntNet 알고리즘

        During periods of large data transmission, routing selection methods are used to efficiently manage data traffic and improve the speed of transmission. One approach in routing selection is AntNet that applies the Ant algorithm in transmissions with uniform probability. However, this approach uses random selection, which can cause excessive data transmission rates and fail to optimize data This paper presents the use of the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to efficiently route and disperse data transmissions, during periods with “unnecessary weight increases for random selection”. This new algorithm for improved performance provides highly accurate estimates of the transmission time and the transmission error rate. 다량의 데이터를 전송할 때, 시간 단축과 효율적인 트래픽관리를 위해 네트워크의 라우팅 선택방법이 사용되고 있다. Ant 알고리듬을 적용한 AntNet은 라우팅 선택 확률이 동일할 때, 랜던선택을 한다. 그로인해서 불필요한 가중치가 발생하여 트래픽이 증가한다. 본 논문은 이를 해결하기 위해 GA 알고리듬을 AntNet에 적합하여 데이터 전송을 위한 전송시간 감소와 효율적인 트래픽 분산을 해결하였다. 제안한 알고리즘 성능평가를 위해서 본 논문에서는 대량의 데이터를 전송하기위한 경로를 설정하고, 전송시간과 전송 오류율을 평가하여 우수성을 보였다.

      • SOA Platform in Ubiquitous Factory Concept

        A next generation concept of manufacturing environment called Ubiquitous Factory was proposed last year. This concept was introduced with the purpose of harmonious integration of people and machines for an environment where human creativity, expertise, and experience can exert influence on making more valuable accomplishments with the aid of ubiquitous information technologies. Ubiquitous Factory concept can be defined as a collection of u-Services (Ubiquitous Services) where each u-Service serves a specific purpose in building Ubiquitous Factory and is designed by integrating ubiquitous information technologies to serve the purpose. As various u-Services emerge and as these u-Services contain elements of ubiquitous information technologies where various forms and large quantities of data has to be sent and received, the need for efficient development of u-services, efficient handling of large amount of data transfer and reducing the effort of software development have emerged. In this paper, I propose a concept of Service- Oriented-Architecture in the view of Ubiquitous Factory concept in order to handle the emerging needs mentioned above.
