Effect of OVOIL oil on B6D2F1 Mice Oogenesis
Dan-Bi Lee,Kee Sang Park,Byoung Boo Seo 한국수정란이식학회 2018 한국동물생명공학회지 Vol.33 No.4
This study was performed to investigate the effect of types of oil (OVOIL vs. OIL) on B6D2F1 mice oogenesis. In this study, B6D2F1 F1 mice were used in order to maximize oogenesis. The expansion rate of cumulus cells (82.0%±0.2 vs. 78.0%±0.1), in vitro fertilization rate (92.0%±0.1 vs. 88.0%±0.1), developmental rate (91.0%±0.1 vs. 87.0%±0.2), blastocysts formation rate (56.0%±0.1 vs. 57.0%±0.1), and zona hatched rate(41.4%±0.2 vs. 24.0%±0.1) were not different between groups (NS; P>0.05). However, there was a significant difference in maturation rate; the OVOIL group showed higher maturation rate compared to that of the OIL group (96.0%±0.1 vs. 87.0%±0.1; P<0.05). In the blastocysts cell numbers, the total cell numbers (83.9±26.1 vs. 56.9±23.9), ICM cell numbers (15.7±8.8 vs. 6.3±3.5), TE cell numbers (68.3±25.7 vs. 50.7±24.1), % ICM (21.6%±0.1 vs. 12.7%±0.1), and the ratio of ICM:TE (1:6.2±6.5 vs. 1:10.3±7.0) were significantly higher in the OVOIL group than the OIL group (P<0.05). These results suggested that it is expected to achieve the more developmental ability of B6D2F1 mice depending on the type of oil (OVOIL vs. OIL). In addition, the results can provide essential information for culture condition on B6D2F1 mice. Henceforth, thus, it is expected that these results herein might be used for in vitro culture of human embryos.
Embedding MNC-guided FPIC into North Korea s Resident Surveillance System
Dan-Bi Um 한국학술연구원 2020 Korea Observer Vol.51 No.1
This article suggests a Multi-national Corporation (MNC) guided voluntary Free Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) by providing information about forest carbon trading to the nation-wide resident surveillance system, initially institutionalized as a watchdog device on anti-government movement in North Korea. Such an MNC-guided voluntary approach can improve the productivity of the FPIC implementation scheme without creating unnecessary tension between the North Korean government and the local forest community. International communications increased by MNC-guided approach can allow local communities to access a reservoir of information about forestry carbon trading and connect other similarly situated communities throughout the world. The MNC-guided voluntary approach could work as a preamble toward real FPIC commitment since it provides an opportunity for the local community to learn the existence and value of procedural carbon rights over forested land.
Exploring the Blood Cell Surface Glycome for the Development of Glycan-Humanized Mouse Model
Dan Bi Park,Sumin Kim,Hyun Joo An 한국당과학회 2017 한국당과학회 학술대회 Vol.2017 No.01
Therapeutic proteins play an increasingly important role in the pharmaceutical industry. Glycosylation is a very critical modification of therapeutic proteins, known to significantly modulate yield, bioactivity, solubility, immunogenicity and efficacy. Most biotherapeutic proteins developed to date have been produced using the mammalian model. Although mammalian system can produce glycosylation similar to human, they also produce non-human glycosylation that can cause immune responses and safety issue. Firstly, we explored difference of glycosylation between human and mouse to design glycan-humanized mouse model. We selectively enriched glycans from blood cell (red blood cell and white blood cell) membrane and analyzed them by porous graphitized carbon (PGC) based nano-LC/MS which enables to confirm not only glycan composition but also structure isomer. Hundreds of glycan structures were directly detected by accurate mass and structurally elucidated by MS/MS, revealing the species-specific structure. These results could be targets for new signatures distinguishing the species and the beginning for design of glycan-humanized mouse model.
