시판중인 일회용 생리대 층별 용출액의 자외선 흡광도 분석

일회용 생리대는 사용의 편리함으로 인하여 여성이 일생동안 수천 개를 사용하며 인체의 체액과 직접 접촉하므로 생리대에 함유된 유해물질이 인체에 침투하지 않도록 주의해야 한다. 인체에 침투할 수 있는 유해물질로는 휘발성 유기화합물과 함께 프탈레이트 등의 방향족 유기화합물도 포함되는데, 후자의 경우는 비휘발성이므로 용출액의 자외선 흡광도로 측정이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 시중에서 판매되는 10종류의 중형 생리대를 생리혈을 저장하는 흡수층, 생리혈을 흡수층에 전달하는 표지층, 그리고 수분이 배출되어 의복에 묻지 않도록 보호하는 방수층으로 분리하여 각 층별 구성을 조사하고, 각 층별 용출액의 250nm 자외선 흡광도를 조사하여 층별 구성 성분과의 연관성을 연구하였다. 용출액의 자외선 흡광도 조사결과 폴리에틸렌 필름 형태인 방수층은 자외선 흡광도가 가장 낮았으며, 흡수층의자외선 흡광도가 가장 컸으며 흡수층의 자외선 흡광도는 초고흡수성 고분자 비드가 포함된 경우 일반적으로 큰흡광도를 보였다. 표지층의 흡광도는 표지층을 구성하는 재료의 성분과의 연관성은 없었으며, 오히려 흡수층이고분자 비드를 포함하는지의 여부와 더 큰 연관성을 보였다. 이는 흡수층의 방향족 유기화합물이 필름 형태의 방수층으로의 이동이 제한된 반면에 메쉬 형태의 표지층으로의 이동이 일어날 수 있음을 의미한다. 프탈레이트 등의 방향족 유기화합물이 인체에 미치는 영향이 매우 큰 것으로 알려져 있으므로 생리대에 포함된방향족 유기화합물의 규제를 위하여 자외선 흡광도 시험이 추가되어야 할 것으로 사료된다. Women use thousands of disposable sanitary pads throughout their lifetime, as the pads are highly effective and convenient for the users. Since the pads directly contact body fluids, care must be taken to prevent harmful substances contained in the sanitary pads from migrating into the human body. Hazardous substances that can potentially migrate into the human body include volatile organic compounds as well as nonvolatile aromatic organic substances such as phthalates. In the latter case, since they are nonvolatile, the presence of them in the pads can be monitored by ultraviolet absorbance of the eluate from the pads. In this study, 10 kinds of medium-sized sanitary pads sold on the market in Korea were studied after being separated into an absorbent layer that stores menstrual blood, a top sheet layer that delivers menstrual blood to the absorbent layer, and a waterproof layer that protects the clothes from being contaminated, The mass and composition of each layer were investigated, and 250 nm UV absorbance of the eluate of each layer was studied, The study showed that the eluate of the waterproof layer in the form of a polyethylene film showed the lowest UV absorbance, and that of the absorption layer had the highest UV absorbance. Ultraviolet absorbance of the eluate from the absorbent layer generally showed a large absorbance when supe-absorbent polymer beads were included in the absorbent layer. The absorbance of the top-sheet layer did not show a correlation with the components of the material constituting the layer. Instead, it showed a greater correlation with whether the absorbent layer contains polymer beads or not. These results indicate that while the movement of the aromatic organic compounds in the absorbent layer into the waterproof layer in the form of a film is restricted, the migration to the top-sheet layer in the form of a mesh could occur more easily. Since it is known that aromatic organic compounds such as phthalates have a significant health risk on the human body, ultraviolet absorbance tests should be used to regulate aromatic organic compounds contained in sanitary pads.

As interest in probiotics shifts to paraprobiotics, researches on the mechanisms of paraprobiotics have been ongoing. The purpose of this study is to investigate the immunomodulatory activity of paraprobiotics prepared by heat process. Lactococcus lactis SG-030 was heat-inactivated at 95℃ for 10 min to prepare paraprobiotics. The cytotoxicity of heat-inactivated L. lactis SG-030 to macrophages was low even at higher concentrations than live cells. NO production of macrophages was in proportion to the concentration of heat-inactivated L. lactis SG-030, which indicated the high immunostimulating activity of paraprobiotics. Expression levels of TNF-⍺ and iNOS determined by qPCR showed the increase of expression of those genes in macrophages. Western blot showed the increase in the expression of JNK, P-38, and ERK in macrophages, which levels were much similar in the macrophage treated with live L. lactis SG-030 cells. This study implied that the paraprobiotics from L. lactis SG-030 had less cytotoxicity than live cells and comparable immunostimulant activity, and thereby the paraprobiotics from L. lactis SG-030 would be good candidate for health beneficial food ingredient.
COVID-19 팬데믹 상황에서 간호대학생의 교수-학생 상호작용, 심리적 안녕감, 간호사 이미지와 간호전문직관의 관계

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of faculty-student interaction, psychological well-being, and the image of nurses with nursing professionalism in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Methods: The participants of the study were 243 nursing college students located in Daegu, Kyungpook. Data collection was performed between August 11 and 20, 2021. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The multiple regression showed that nursing professionalism was associated with a positive image of nurses (β=.71, p<.001) and higher faculty-student interaction (β=.11, p=.023). Additionally, a negative impression about nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic was negatively associated with nursing professionalism (β=-.12, p=.003). The explanatory power of the factors was 67 percent of the total variances on nursing professionalism; however, psychological well-being was not an associated factor. Conclusion: This study suggested that, to improve nursing student’s nursing professionalism in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, nursing colleges should systemize curricular and non-curricular programs to improve awareness of nurses’ efforts and faculty-student interaction.

Objectives: This study investigated the association between exacerbated economic hardship during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and changes in the health behaviors of Korean adolescents.Methods: We analyzed data from the 2021 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey and included 44 908 students (22 823 boys and 22 085 girls) as study subjects. The dependent variables included changes in health behaviors (breakfast habits, physical activity, and alcohol use) that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aggravation of economic hardship by COVID-19 and the subjective economic status of the family were used as exposure variables. Multiple logistic regression analysis was utilized to calculate the prevalence odds ratios (PORs).Results: Severe exacerbation of a family’s economic hardship due to COVID-19 was negatively associated with the health behaviors of adolescents, including increased breakfast skipping (POR, 1.85; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.55 to 2.21 for boys and POR, 1.56; 95% CI, 1.27 to 1.92 for girls) and decreased physical activity (POR, 1.37; 95% CI, 1.19 to 1.57 for boys and POR, 1.38; 95% CI, 1.19 to 1.60 for girls). These negative changes in health behaviors were further amplified when combined with a low subjective family economic status.Conclusions: The experience of worsening household hardship can lead to negative changes in health behavior among adolescents. It is crucial to implement measures that address the economic challenges that arise from stressful events such as COVID-19 and to strive to improve the lifestyles of adolescents under such circumstances.
