      • 신생검증례에 의한 사구체신질환의 분석

        To elucidate the incidences and the clinical characteristics of glomerular diseases in our hospital, we reviewed the clinical records and histological findings of the 117 cases, which were diagnosed as one of the glomerular disease in renal biospy for about 6 years since 1991. In these 117 cases, 74 cases (63.2 %) fell into primary glomerulonephritis(GN), 18 cases (15.4%) into secondary GN, 2 cases (1.7 %) into end stage kidney, 4 cases (3.4%) into tubulointerstitial disease and the biopsy samples were inadequate for diagnosis in 19 cases. In primary glomerular diseases, most common pathologic diagnosis was IgA nephropathy (36.5 %}, followed by minimal change nephrotic syndrome (29.7%). The incidence of IgA nephropathy would be increased if we had biopsied every asymptomatic urinary abnormality (AUA) patients. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) . hepatitis B accounted for most of secondary GN in our cases. One case of progressive scleroderma was included in this secondary GN. Minimal change nephrotic syndrome (22 cases) was the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome, followed by membranous GN (9 cases) and IgA nephropathy (8 cases). 2 cases of primary amyloidosis were presented with nephrotic syndrome. Nephrotic syndrome as presenting symptom in our IgA nephropathy patients was higher than in other studies, which may be due to indication bias for renal biopsy. We suggest that renal biopsy should be done in adult nephrotic syndrome and in SLE, because various kind of glomerular diseases can develop nephrotic syndrome in adult, renal biopsy can affect the treatment and prognosis in each patients and renal biopsy also determines the extent of renal involvement in SLE on which the treatment depends. In AUA urinary patients, renal biopsy could be reserved for the patients who show declining of GFR or rising of proteinuria. Because IgA nephropathy account for most of AUA. and there is no specific treatment for IgA nephropathy, and renal biopsy in those cases is helpful in ruling out the patients who need no treatment.

        Nowaday, Advanced technology has been applied to organic destruction technologies that are alternatives to incineration. Plasma, photolysis, and Photocatalytic oxidation processes are an emerging advanced technologies for the abatement of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) in atmospheric pressure air streams, so we has been used these technologies for destruction of VOCs. TCE, Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene were selected as objective materials. We have been studied each process and found many types of reaction parameters which effect on treatment efficiency. So combination processes, which are plasma-photocatalytic oxidation process and photolysis-photocatalytic oxidation process, have been used to increase destruction efficiency. Analysis of above materials and byproducts was carried out by GC-FID.

        There has been research about high performance computer architecture to meet high computing requirement in the computer application area. This paper exploits MIMD-vector processor and its fuction, and describes how to reduce the time consuming problem in the software testing. Reliable software testing is very important process to improve software quality. As mutation based test(Mutation Test)is a good testing technique and can simulate a variety of testing techniques, we use mutation based testing to achieve high reliability. We propose unification technique and lagged block selection policy to parallelize in the mutation based software test on the MIMD-vector architecture. This technique will provide the base in the parallizing software testing area. [Index terms] MIMD -vector processor, software test, lagged block selection policy.

        Software quality is a primary concern in software development efforts. The traditional methods of assessing software quality are software testing. A variety of testing techniques has been studied for many years, but testing a large software program is difficult and time consuming operation. In a typical programming project, over 50% of the total cost are expended in testing. In this paper we describe the testing techniques. All the testing methods are not applicable to every software program. We find an effective software testing technique[Index terms] software quality, software test.

      • 1996년과 1999년 경기지역 초등학교 학생들에서 유행성이하선염에 대한 면역도 조사

        Background : Although massive use of live attenuated mumps virus vaccines successfully reduced the incidence of mumps virus infection worldwide, mumps outbreaks have not been completely eliminated, even in vaccinated populations. In recent years, the incidence of mumps has been remarkably increased in Korea. This study was designed to evaluate the recent seroprevalence rate of mumps IgG among children in Kyonggi province at 1996 and 1999. Methods : Study population included students from 8 elementary schools in Kyonggi province. Serum samples were collected twice at 1996 and 1999 and tested for mumps-specific antibody by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). We also conducted a questionnaire survey on the parents and collected the records including history of vaccination and mumps infection. Results : The seropositive rates against mumps were 89.47% and 89.74% at 1996 and 1999, respectively, and they were not significantly different when compared to age, sex, and region. Although the first vaccination rates were 92.17% and 92.25% at 1996 and 1999, respectively, the second vaccination rates were only 37.89% and 38.03% at 1996 and 1999, respectively. Infection rate showed no significant difference between vaccinated groups and nonvaccinated gropus. Seropositive rate of infected group was higher than that of noninfected group but it was not significantly different between the vaccinated and the nonvaccinated. Conclusions : This study showed the seropositive rate and vaccination against mumps in children. There were no significant relationships between vaccination and infection. Therefore, it seems likely that the vaccination is not fully protective against mumps infection. This study will be helpful for the establishment of guideline for prevention and treatment of mumps in Korea. (Korean J Infect Dis 33: 157∼164, 2001)

        급성 충수돌기염의 조기 진단을 위한 초음파검사의 의의

        Background: In the most of emergency department, the diagnosis of appendicitis has been carried by clinical history, physical examination and plain X-ray. But the diagnostic accuracy by these methods was so low that unnecessary operation was common performed, and sometimes the operation was delayed till the physicians could confirm the acute appendicitis clinically. Although many kinds of diagnostic tools such as CT scan, laparoscope, and etc, we believe that ultrasonography(US) would be a quick and sensitive diagnostic method for the evaluation of acute appendicitis in the Emergency Department. Methods: Forty-seven patients who were clinically suspected as acute appendicitis were evaluated with the grayscaled US by emergency physician. The probe of US was placed on maximal tender point of abdomen, and the appendix image was evaluated while probe was pressed deeply and gently. When the blind loop was found at maximal tender point of abdomen, we evaluated the diameter of appendix, the presence of compressibility, peri-appendiceal fluid collection and other mass effect. As soon as the ultrasonographic evidences of the appendicitis were noticed, the operations were done and pathologic report were reviewed later. Results: Among the forty-seven patients, forty patients were diagnosed as a appendicitis by Us, and most common ultrasonic findings were as follows; 1) non-compressible blind loop larger than 5 mm in diameter, 2) wall thickening more than 3 mm, 3) peri-appendiceal fluid collection, 4) periappendiceal mass. Among remaining 7 patients in whom we could not get any positive findings of appendicitis, abdominal CT scan was carried in 2 cases who had direct and rebound tendemess on right lower abdomen, and CT scan showed the evidences of the appendicitis. The other 5 cases without rebound tendemess were observed for 2 hours, and abdominal pain was disappeared lately. Finally forty-two patients were operated and confirmed as acute appendicitis by pathologic reports; 24 were reported as suppurative appendicitis, and 12 cases of gangrenous appendicitis, 3 cases of perforated appendicitis, and 3 cases were peri-appendiceal abscess. The specificity of US in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis was 71.4%, and the sensitivity was 95.2%. Conclusions: In some patients suspected appendicitis, emergency physicians could diagnosis acute appendicitis accurately and rapidly by use of ultrasonography. Although the US was an accurate imaging modality to diagnosis acute appendicitis and evaluate its complications, we recommend a laparotomy or abdominal CT scan in the patients with negative US findings in spite of presence of peritoneal irritation signs such as rebound tenderness and/or muscle guarding on right lower abdomen.

        인천 논현동 일대 염습지의 식물다양성과 보존방안

        해안생태공원 조성이 추진중인 인천광역시 논현동 일대 염습지의 식물상 및 식생을 1999년 6월부터 2000년 6월까지 조사하였다. 이 지역에는 소래포구의 조간대를 따라 발달한 자연염습지와 함께 조수가 차단된 폐염전이 있다. 이 지역에서 14종의 염생식물이 조사되었는데, 그중 해홍나물이 가장 많이 분포하고 있었으며, 그밖에 퉁퉁마디, 비쑥, 갯개미취 등도 많이 관찰되었다. 폐염전에서 관찰된 염생식물의 종류는 자연염습지에서 조사된 것과 매우 유사하였다. 그러나, 폐염전과 자연염습지 사이의 제방지역은 염습지 보다 다양한 종이 자라고 있었는데, 귀화식물도 21종이 관찰되었다. 자연염습지의 식생은 해홍나물-비쑥군집과 해홍나물군집으로 구성되어져 있으며 지역에 따른 큰 차이는 없었다. 한편, 폐염전에서는 해홍나물-퉁퉁마디, 나문재-해홍나물, 갈대-애기부들, 갈대군집 등 다양한 군집이 조사되었다. 식생상관과 종다양도에 기초하여 조사지역을 식생양호지역, 인간활동에 따른 교란지역, 식물고사지역 등의 세 구역으로 나눌 수 있었으며, 해안생태공원 조성에 따른 각 구역의 보존대책을 제시하였다. The flora and vegetation of salt marsh region in Nonhyun-dong, Incheon were investigated from June 1999 to June 2000. The surveyed region includes the several abandoned salt farms and natural salt marshes developing along the intertidal zone at the stream of the Sorae Inlet, Yellow Sea and is going to be constructed a costal ecopark. In this survey 14 species of halophytes were collected in the region, among them Suaeda maritima is the most common one, Salicornia herbacea, Artemisia scoparnia and Aster tripolium are also observed popularly. The flora of the abandoned salt farms is very similar to that of the natural salt marshes. However, the bank areas between the abandoned salt farms and the natural salt marshes showed more richness of species diversity including 21 naturalized plants. The vegetations on the natural salt marshes are mainly composed of Suaeda maritima-Artemisia scoparnia and Suaeda maritima communities. On the other hand, various plant communities were investigated in the abandoned salt farms such as Suaeda maritima-Salicornia herbacea, Phragmites communis-Typha angustata, Suaeda asparagoides-Suaeda maritima and Phragmites communis communities. Based on the plant physiognomy and species diversity, the region can be divided into three types of area for conservation, that is, the area composed of well-developed vegetation, disturbed one by human activities and plant withering area. Futhermore, according to the construction of the costal ecopark in the region the conservation scheme for each area was discssed.

      • Compass 연산자를 이용한 Edge의 방향정보 표현

        에지(edge)의 검출은 영상처리를 하기 위한 전처리 단계로서 중요하고도 기초가 되는 부분이다. Compass 기울기 연산자는 방향에 따른 마스크를 사용하여 에지를 검출하여 주는데, 본 논문에서는 이러한 Compass 기울기 연산자를 이용하여 찾아지는 에지를 방향에 따라서 색상을 지정하여 표현함으로써 에지 정보의 방향성을 시 각화하도록 하였다. 예제 이미지는 임의의 타원으로 구성된 실험용 이미지와 다른 하나는 쥐와 운동 신경조직을 현미경으로 확대하여 본 이미지이다. Digital Image Processing is divided into two branches. One is Improvement of Image Information which helps human beings to understand image, and another is Image Data Analysis which helps the machine to have cognizance of image. Edge Detection is indispensable part to apply two branches, for it is basic application. Edge Detection is important and basic preprocess at Image Processing. Edge can be found by Compass operator as direction with 3×3 Masks. Compass operator has 8 element to be compared. Each has an information about direction of an edge. To visualize edge information, We propose the method of edge detection as direction showed by color. First, We had experiment on 4-Direction, then on 8-Direction. 8-Direction 8-Color method was better than 4-Direction 4-Color method, for Compass operator had 8 elements. Result Image shows the color which has direction information.

        화학기상응축법으로 제조한 Fe-Co 나노입자의 구조 및 자기적 상태에 관한 뫼스바우어 분석

        Nine nano-sized Fe-Co particle samples synthesized by Chemical Vapor Condensation(CVC) were analyzed using Mo¨ssbauer spectroscopy, XRD, BET and HRTEM. The synthesized nanoparticles consisted of metallic core and oxide shell structures, and their surfaces were covered with a-FeOOH, γ-FeOOH and Fe_(3)O_(4). The increase of cobalt content enhanced magnetic field. However, when the decomposition temperature and the oxygen content in the carrier gas (Ar) increased, the magnetic field of nanoparticles reduced with decreasing the average particle size. with increasing the vacuum pressure, the average particle size and the magnetic field increased.

      • 관상동맥색전증에 의한 급성심근경색증 4예

        Acute myocardial infarction(AMI) due to coronary embolism can occur in patients with normal coronary artery. Coronary embolism is believed to be a cause of acute myocardial infarction when emergent coronary angiography shows perfectly normal coronary trees, except for the finding of coronary artery occlusion. In this report, we describe four patients with AMI due to coronary embolism who were successfully treated using a thrombus aspiration device and anticoagulation, and those patients had intracardial thrombus arising from the left atrium due to chronic atrial fibrillation and valvular heart disease. Patients with chronic or paroxysmal atrial fibrillation can present with AMI due to coronary embolism, and thrombus aspiration with percutaneous aspiration device is a feasible treatment option for these patients along with anticoagulation the rapy.
