In contemporary society, where meritocracy is deeply rooted, there has been limited research on its influence on individual behavior and decision-making. This study investigates how meritocratic beliefs impact decisions related to philanthropic behavior. Meritocracy is the belief that success and wealth should depend on an individual's abilities, talents, and hard work, rather than on external factors. In this line of thought, one might anticipate that high meritocracy adherents would engage in more prosocial behavior. However, this study hypothesizes that high meritocracy adherents are less likely to participate in charitable activities and exhibit lower levels of prosocial behavior. In both studies, I discovered that high meritocracy adherents were less persuaded by donation messages (Study 1) and demonstrated lower intentions to provide charitable help (Study 2). These findings suggest that high meritocracy adherents express themselves in less prosocial ways, highlighting the potential negative consequences of strongly adhering to meritocratic beliefs.

Effects of Minimizing Scar Formation by Early Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Background Much of the theory regarding the treatment of surgical scars advocates a wait-and-see approach. The use of lasers prophylactically against scarring in the early postoperative period is relatively new. We introduced lasers during the early treatment of scars. Methods We present results using the VSS (Vancouver Scar Scale) Score and discuss the efficacy and safety of our approach. Fractional CO2 lasers (Line-Xel) were used 4 weeks after injury, which is the early remodeling phase, at 4-week intervals. Five treatments were performed. VSS scores were counted before treatment and 5 months after final treatment. Results Each VSS score showed great improvement over time and finally achieved near-normal skin values. No adverse effects or complications, such as wound disruption, postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, or dyspigmentation, occurred in the present study. Conclusions This study shows that the use of early fractional CO2 lasers 4 weeks after surgery or trauma is an effective and safe method to minimize scar formation.

Although the rapid change from printed media to multi-media has yet to affect the primary goals and roles of the typography as means of information delivery, the new environment requires the typography to find a new direction. In other words, the typography, which has delivered the linguistic information only on the static surface, is urged to add the elements of time, music and technology to itself to fit such multi-media environments as monitors and screens. As a result, the typography changes into a complex concept allowing for expression of video and audio images. Recently, ADSL has been widely distributed with enhanced performances of PC, and thus, numerous multi-media data are distributed, but the majority of Internets and websites are full of texts. People can easily create texts and images, but not sounds because their tools are not efficient. Thus, as in the earlier age of film industry - just as in Chaplin's films - most websites and authoring tools serve the users with texts and figures only. In order to solve such a problem, the kinetic typography can be used to deliver the information effectively because it may help to deliver the sound information in the age of multi-media. With such basic conceptions in mind, this study was aimed at reviewing the structural relationship among visual motions, sound types and images in terms of combination of art and music. To this end, concept and characteristics of the kinetic typography and technological methods of inserting sound were examined.

공익과 사익 간의 충돌 시 조정 기제 : 헌법재판소의 비례성 원칙을 중심으로

공익과 사익의 충돌 시 두 이익을 비례적으로 판단하여 보호할 이익을 권위 있게 결정하는 공식적 조정 기제 중 하나는 헌법재판소라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 정책의 공익 연구도 이에 주목할 필요가 있다고 보고 헌법재판소의 위헌법령 심사를 중심으로 공익과 사익 충돌 시 그 조정 기제에 대하여 검토하였다. 특히 헌법재판소의 위헌법령 심사에 있어서 비례성(proportionality) 원칙을 적용 한 판례를 분석하고자 한다. 헌재 성립 이후 현재까지(1988.9.1.~2017. 6.29) 나타난 공익 대 사익의 비례성 심사의 모든 판례 1,469건에 대한 계량적·질적 분석 및 검토 결과 공익에 대한 사법적 판단은 공공 행정에 있어서도 그 함의가 매우 중요함을 알 수 있다. The judicial review assessing whether law is in compliance with the constitution plays the role of selective coordination system of private vs. public interest. This paper analyzes CCK(Constitutional Court of Korea)’s judicial reviews which consists of four rules: legitimate ends, suitability, least restrictive means(LRM), proportionality stricto sensu(balancing). All 1,469 precedents ruled by CCK(1988.9.1.~ 207.6.29) were studied through qualitative and quantitative methods, showing that the values in proportionality rules are in accordance with that of rationality public administration pursues.

고속도로에서 차선도색시 자연건조 및 열풍기 사용시의 차선 양생시간 비교

PURPOSES: The purpose of this study is to compare the lane curing time of natural drying and a lane drying device when painting lines on a highway. METHODS: The painting process was carried out in July 2015 and September 2015, respectively, for the Gimcheon IC - Gimcheon JC. After the painting, measurements were obtained three times at six measurement points located at 20 m intervals on the shoulder line and the dividing line. The curing time was measured for natural drying and drying using a lane drying device, and compared for different pavement types (asphalt, concrete) and paint types (waterborne paint, methyl methacrylate paint). RESULTS : The results of the lane curing time comparison on the highway are as follows. The combination of asphalt and methyl methacrylate paint cured more rapidly during both the natural drying and drying using the lane drying device. Finally, it was cured at least 32.2% and 40.7% faster when using a drying device than in natural drying. CONCLUSIONS: The comparison of lane curing time of the highway showed that the combination of asphalt and methyl methacrylate paint cured more rapidly when using both natural drying and a lane drying device.

컴포넌트화 웹 컨텐츠 환경에서 사용자 멘탈유형 도출을 위한 인지행동 분석 및 평가방법 고찰

새로운 개인화 웹 인터페이스 환경 체계라 할 수 있는 컴포넌트화 웹 컨텐츠 환경에서의 사용자 멘탈유형 도출을 위한 연구에 있어 그 분석법이나 범주 즉, 다양한 사례 및 정성·정량적 평가방법 등의 객관적이고 과학적인 방법으로 확장시킬 필요가 있는 시점이라 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 개인화 웹으로 발전하고 있는 현시점에서 요구되는 사용자의 멘탈유형(Mental Types)에 대한 내용과 사례에 대해 인지적 측면에서 분석·평가하여, 다양한 사용자층의 요구(needs)를 해결해 주는 학술적 기반을 마련하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 선행연구 및 문헌연구를 통해 컴포넌트화 웹 환경에서 개인적 성향을 표출하면서 컨텐츠를 더욱 확장 시키는 역할을 수행하는 적극적인 참여 행태를 발견하고, 사용자의 멘탈유형 고찰 및 필요성을 확인하였으며, 사용자의 인지행동 과정과 구성요소를 데이터 마이닝(Data Mining) 분석을 통해 종합적으로 정리하였다. 그 결과로 사고와 행동을 결정짓는 인지과정을 분석하기 위한 본 연구만의 CPM(Connection Path Method)이라는 사용자 행동 정보 수집을 위한 접근방법을 정의하였고, CPM을 통해 사용자 멘탈유형 도출을 위한 분석방법과 실제적인 사용자 평가실행이 가능한 분석방법 즉, 본 연구에서 다루고 있는 컴포넌트화 웹 컨텐츠 환경에 대한 ISA(Interface Standard Analysis)를 제시하였다. 향후 이를 적용해 사용자의 적극적인 반응이 일어나는 최적화된 멘탈유형을 도출하는데 효과적인 연구방법으로 적용할 수 있으리라 예상된다.

아토피 피부염에서 프로바이오틱스 치료 유효성에 관한 문헌적 고찰

Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of probiotics for cure of atopic dermatitis and suggest for the better method of studies in order to seek more effective treatment. Methods : We searched from Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal(KTKP), Reserach Information Sharing Service(RISS), National Discovery for Science Leader(NDSL) and PubMed. We selected among the papers published from 2005 to 2019 using terms related to ‘Atopic dermatitic & Allergy diseases & Probiotics’. Results : 41 papers were selected from the database worldwidely. In these collected 41 related theses, there were 14 experimental studies(34.1%), 16 clinical studies( 39.0%), 11 review studies (26.9%). 23 papers(76.7%) insisted that the effects is but 9 papers(30%) said not effective. Conclusion : The effects of probiotics in atopic dermatitis is investigated positively, however, we have to consider the methods to approach the result including the sort, amount of probiotics, how to culture, how to eat and so on.
