Maxillary sinus retention cysts are probably common findings on PNS series. Many patients remain asymptomatic in the presence of these lesions, but a variety of local and systemic symptoms have been associated with them. A patient presented with symptoms of chronic rhinosinusitis had a finding of both maxillary sinus retention cysts on PNS series. He has taken the Gal-gen-tang and treated by acupunture & infra-red. After about 4 months' treatment, his symptoms resolved and PNS series were normal. In conclusion, Maxillary sinus retention cysts may become clinically important when they occur in the setting of symptoms compatible with chronic rhinosinusitis, or when the diagnosis is in doubt.

Objectives : This study is performed to investigate the therapy on tinnitus through the literature of Eastern and Western medicine. Methods : This study review the definition, etiology, classification, internal and external methods of treatment of tinnitus based on 50 articles of Eastern medicine, 16 articles of Western medicine about the treatment of tinnitus. Results : The results were as follows. 1. In Eastern medicine, the cause and mechanism of disease of tinnitus arose from the state of qi-blood deficiency, internal dampness-heat and depression stagnation. In Western medicine, there are mainly caused by damage to the auditory system the lower induced changes in the upper. 2. In Eastern medicine, differentiation of syndromes classifies clinical aspects, and cause and mechanism of disease. In Western medicine, it divides into an generating region, clinical and associated symptoms aspects. 3. In Eastern medicine, internal method of treatments of tinnitus are divided into four treatments. In Western medicine, internal methods of tinnitus are vasodilators, blood-flow improvers, Metabolism improvers etc. 4. In Eastern medicine, external method of treatments of tinnitus are paste preparation method, powder preparation method, pill preparation method, acupuncture & moxibustion method. In Western medicine, external method of treatments of Tinnitus are divided into injection, other surgical therapies and adjuvant therapy. Conclusions : Until now, there is no perfect, effective single treatment. We think that Eastern medicine approach and treatment can be helpful to overcome the limitations of tinnitus cure.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to understanding the patients thought of Korean Medical treatment and to suggest an improvement in utilization of Korean Medicine treatment about atopic dermatitis. Methods : We had investigate atopic dermatitis online community by classifying the post by treatment type, feature type of the information and by content to know the patients latest tendency. And then compare the result to understand the patients thought of Korean Medical treatment. Results : Most of the post was experiential information and about 67% of the post was about symptom and treatment. Especially there had lot of interest about there treatment information and self-treatment. By contrast Korean Medical treatment type has lower rate then other type of treatment about symptom and treatment and the information was not specific. This result may influence on utilization of Korean Medical treatment. Conclusions : To solve this problem patients needs easy access to Korean Medical treatment and more information about there treatment.

영유아 아토피피부염 환자의 스테로이드 외용제 사용유무에 따른 한의학적 치료효과에 대한 후향적 연구

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine whether there is a significant efficacy difference on infant and young child atopic dermatitis patients treated with Korean Medicine Treatment through 6 months between topical steroid used group and non-steroid group. Methods: The degree of atopic dermatitis was measured by the Objective SCORAD Index (OSI) with photographs of patients. Detailed analysis of the OSI score was compared based on the use of topical steroid. Results: 1. There was not a significant difference between the topical steroid group and the non-steroid group in regards of gender, age and initial OSI score. 2. The non-steroid group's OSI score decreased significantly from 50.17 to 29.20. 3. The topical steroid group's OSI score decreased significantly from 54.21 to 34.95. 76.19% of the patients in the topical steroid group discontinued steroid use within the 6-month period. The average time of discontinuation since the beginning of treatment was 3.36 months. 4. The OSI Improvement rate comparison of topical steroid group with non-steroid group did not show a significant difference over a 3-month and 6-month period. 5. Distribution of severe cases decreased in Both topical steroid and non-steroid group after 6 month treatment. Conclusions: The OSI score of infant and young child atopic dermatitis patients in both topical steroid and non-steroid group was decreased significantly with Korean medicine treatment through 6 months. There was no significant difference between topical steroid group and non-steroid group in OSI improvements over a 3-month period and 6-month period.

만성 두드러기에 대한 가감선방패독탕(加減仙防敗毒湯) 의 치료효과

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of Gagamsunbangpaedoktang on 30 Chronic Urticaria patients. Methods : Total 30 chronic urticaria patients, who has visited korean medical clinic from 1st July 2014 to 29th February 2016 were analyzed by using Urticaria Activity Socre(UAS). Subanalysis of UAS was done according to disease period. Results & Conclusions : UAS score was improved as a result of Gagamsunbangpaedoktang treatment. Gagamsunbangpaedoktang can be effective treatment for Chronic Urticaria.

직업성 접촉 피부염 치험 2례

Objectives : The purpose of this case report is to know the effect of Korean medical treatments on occupational contact dermatitis. Methods : We reported 2 cases who visited Allergy and Derma-Cosmetic Clinic of Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong. They were diagnosed with occupational contact dermatitis and treated by Korean medical treatment. Results : One patient recovered after 13 days of admission and total 9 months of outpatient period. Another patient recovered after 9 days of admission and total 7 months of outpatients period through Korean Medical Treatment. Conclusions : We may expect that Korean medical treatment had therapeutic effects on occupational contact dermatitis, but the additional study will be conducted for revealing the exact therapeutic effects.

저출력 레이저 요법 및 침 치료를 이용한 반흔성 탈모 및 원형탈모증에 대한 치험 1례

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of low level laser therapy and acupuncture on hair loss. Methods : The patient with alopecia caused by bed sore and alopecia areata was treated with 29 times of laser therapy, acupuncture and took herbal medicine during about 3 months. The treatment effect was evaluated by standardized photography. Results : Hair loss had shown a marked improvement. Entire scalp had been replaced with new hairs. Conclusions : LLLT(low level laser therapy) is effective method for treating alopecia. It can shorten the length of treatment of alopecia.

가감통청산(加減通淸散)으로 치료한 만성 두드러기 치험 1례

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report 1 clinical experience of korean medicine treatment on chronic urticaria identified as "Wind Heat" pattern. Methods : We treated a 63-year old woman patient with Gagamtongcheong-san, acupuncture and pharmacopuncture. The improvement of patients evaluated using CU-Q2oL, UAS, and photography. Results : CU-Q2oL score decreased from 95 to 18, UAS decreased from 6 to 0. Conclusions : The complex treatments of korean medicine and was effective to improve of chronic urticaria. It is necessary to have more observations and case reports.

알레르기 비염의 한의학적 관리를 위한 최신 지견

Objectives : The purpose of this review is to introduce the recent advance in allergic rhinitis and to provide help in establishing strategy and selection of drugs for Korean medical treatment of allergic rhinitis. Methods : We searched articles about allergic rhinitis comprehensively in PubMed, CNKI, JStage, KISTI. And in order to reflect clinical situation, we also reviewed some profession's writing for practitioners. Results : This review discussed allergic rhinitis's epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis. We found many standardized clinical practice guideline have been published in this field. And some guideline reflected accumulation of medical evidence on interventions in Korean medicine. It suggested that acupuncture, herbal medicine, herbal patch are useful to prevention and alleviate allergic symptoms. But some interventions have heterogeneity due to each nation's medical background. Conclusions : Acupuncture therapy is now recommended world widely for treating allergic rhinitis. But other interventions of Korean medicine are not well recognized in the same manner. We need more research to identify mechanism and rigorous clinical trials to clarify efficacy and safety of Korean medicine intervention.

한 양방 동시 치료를 통해 호전된 베게너 육아종증 1예

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report the improved case of Wegener's granulomatosis with Oriental-Western Medicine Treatment. Methods : The patient was treated by herbal medicine(Manhyeongja-san, Banhabaekchulchenma-tang, Jaeumgeonbi-tang), acupuncture and moxa constantly. And she was also treated by glucocorticoids treatment and immunosuppressive therapy provided by department of Rheumatology. The otorhinolaryngologic and the ophthalmologic Western medication treatment were also supplied. The information was collected retrospectively. Results & Conclusions : Chronic otitis media of both ear and hearing loss were improved by Oriental-Western medicine treatment. Ophthalmagia was controlled as less. Dizziness and facial palsy were also disappeared. Oriental-Western medicine treatment may be effective on Wegener's granulomatosis patient when pain controling and fast improvement of symptoms are needed.
