Christians are the members of the Church and of the public. They are living in both cultures and have an interdependent relationship. These different cultures are not separated and are not considered their own entire section. This research will examine what position Christians hold in the modern society. Christians are living in both the universal culture in the modern society and the Christians` own culture. Both cultures are formed by the educational environment, reproduced by education and handed down in the process of socialization. Therefore, it is impossible to separate the culture and education. For forming the right Christian culture, Christian education needs the holistic perspective of both educations from the modern culture and the Christian classic. This study suggests how to establish the positive relationships between Christian tradition and social culture through the approach of the critical reflection in holistic education. This research, firstly, examines the general meanings of the culture and then christian education for transforming culture in our society and Christian community. Finally, it deals with the right christian culture which is pursued by Korean christians who are living in this generation through the approach of the critical reflection in holistic education.
통전적 기독교 교육을 위한 성찰적 방법론으로서의 멘토링
최봉도 ( Bong Doh Choi ) 한국개혁신학회 2011 한국개혁신학 Vol.32 No.-
Today, the social structure of South Korea is pursuing competition. The Korean church belongs to this competition, so the education of church cannot help individuals living in the grim reality of the cutthroat competition to form a self-image as the image of God. In addition, problems have arisen within the church itself. It is difficult to form a holistic faith caused by education the focusing on the cognitive domain of faith as transferring knowledge. Therefore, it is insufficient to form a meeting with God and correlation with others. In other words, the education in church cannot embody the Christian faith or heal the inner pain in an inhumane period. The education in the true sense in the situation of this church school needs the whole-person education through the harmony of the knowledge and emotion. For this purpose, students will be able to be educated and learned as desirable believers in the church and society by the co-relational mentoring in the faith community. This study aimed to comprehend the faith which should be pursued in the church school and the significance of spiritual education. After that, mentoring as the method which has been used in the church as the educational method based on the research was exam-ined. Thus the holistic Christian education is considered as one of the methods which have positive effects on the various raised problems and structures in the society and to recover the interaction with people in a competitive society.
