Introduction: Whether right ventricular (RV) dilation on computerized tomography (RVD-CT) is a useful predictor for clinical outcomes of acute pulmonary embolism (PE) remains debatable. Furthermore, data regarding the best combination of prognostic markers for predicting the adverse outcome of PE are limited. Materials and Methods: The authors retrospectively reviewed 657 consecutive patients hospitalized at a tertiary referral center with a diagnosis of PE based on multi-detector row CT scan. Results: Patients were allocated into an adverse outcome group (11% [n=69]) or a control group (89% [n=588]). Multivariate analysis showed that RVD-CT (RV/ left ventricle [LV] diameter ratio ≥1), high pulmonary embolism severity index (PESI) score (class IV-V), high N-terminal-pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP, ≥1,136 pg/ml), and elevated troponin I (≥0.05 ng/ml) significantly predicted an adverse outcome (odds ratio [OR] 6.26, 95% confidence interval [CI] 2.74-14.31, p <0.001; OR 4.71, 95% CI 2.00-11.07, p<0.001; OR 2.71, 95% CI 1.15-6.39, p=0.023; and OR 3.00, 95% CI 1.27-7.07, p=0.012, respectively). The addition of RVD-CT to PESI, NT-proBNP, troponin I or their combinations enhanced the positive predictive values and positive likelihood ratios of an adverse outcome. Conclusions: RVD-CT could be an independent prognostic factor of adverse outcomes in patients with acute PE, and provides additional prognostic value when combined with other prognostic factors. Objective: After the application of chest computed tomography (CT), ground glass opacity (GGO) was introduced as one of major accompanying findings of miliary tuberculosis (MT). However, little is known about whether GGO is associated with the clinical manifestations and outcomes of MT. Therefore, the present study examined the clinical significance of GGO in patients with MT. Methods: Chest radiographs and CT scans of MT patients were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical manifestations and outcomes were compared in terms of the extent of GGO revealed by CT. Results: One hundred and eleven MT patients were included. GGO was observed in 76 (68%) patients. MT patients with an extent of GGO >50% (n=23) had symptoms of shorter duration, more frequent dyspnea, and more pronounced changes in the levels of acute phase reactants. Miliary nodules were less discernible on CT in those with an extent of GGO >50%. MT patients with an extent of GGO >50% was significantly associated with a longer hospital stay (p=0.01) and with acute respiratory failure (p=0.001). Conclusions: MT patients with an extent of GGO >50% had more rapidly progressive manifestations and a greater potential for delayed diagnosis and poorer prognosis. How to make herbal cosmetics global prestige brand lies upon effective promotional marketing as broadcasting and mass media deeply affect the human life whereas quantity and quality of cosmetics are important.

사회서비스원 설립 및 운영 지원조례 제정 방향에 관한 연구

A Study on the Direction of Enactment of Ordinances toSupport the Establishment and Operation ofthe Public Agency for Social ServiceGeumju Choi & Taeyoung Um Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to suggest a direction for enactment of the ordinances to support the establishment and operation of the public agency for social service in metropolitan government. To this end, the contents of the ordinances to support the establishment and operation of the public agency for social service in 14 metropolitan governments were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it is necessary to supplement the items related to the project that the public agency for social service provides emergency care services and the pilot project for the introduction of new social services. In addition, the provision of home service should be added. organizations such as advisory committees and policy review committees should be considered for professionalism and transparency in the operation of the public agency for social service, and additional financial support and fund management were suggested for stable operation. 경북 지역사회서비스투자사업 활성화를 위한 지역별 접근방식 개발 연구

본 연구는 지역사회서비스투자사업의 활성화를 위해 지역특성을고려한 전략마련을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 행정자료를 바탕으로한 문헌연구 방법을 적용하였으며, 경북의 인구특징과 사회서비스수요공급상황을 고려하여 총 3개의 권역으로 구분하였다. 1권역은도시중심이고 2권역은 도시와 농촌의 복합, 3권역은 농촌으로 구성된다. 분석결과 도시와 농촌 간 지역편차가 컸으며, 도시지역 내에서도사업 활성화 지역과 사업 미진 지역으로 구분되어졌다. 그리고 권역별 활성화를 위해 본 연구에서는 홍보와 신규사업개발, 제공기관지원, 제공인력 편차감소, 권역별 성과평가와 관련한 제언을 하였다.

가톨릭노인의 내재적,외재적 종교성향이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향

This study is to examine the difference in life satisfaction between intrinsic religious orientation and extrinsic religious orientation by analysing elderly believers` religious dispositons. Objects of investigation were 86 elderly persons as the Catholic believers and they were devided into two groups for this research. One group was to sublimate religion into intrinsic motive, another group was to use it as a means of self-comfort and rationalization. The results of such analysis are as follows. There is close correlation between life satisfaction and intrinsic or extrinsic religious belief. And believers who get an enhanced disposition in the side of intrinsic religious orientation are more satisfied with their lives than believers of a low intrinsic disposition. On the basis of findings in this research, I want to make overtures of a fitting program for cultivation and strengthening of the intrinsic spirituality. Accordingly, each religious organization is obliged to develop and apply various programs in the religious side for the glow of their lives because the Catholic elderly who have an enhanced inclination in the side of intrinsic religious orientation is more satisfied than the elderly of extrinsic religious orientation.

초저가화장품의 브랜드 이미지에 관한 연구

2003년 국내 화장품 생산 실적은 5년 만에 처음으로 성장세가 감소하여 화장품 산업의 위축을 단적으로 보여 준다 이러한 상황에서도 지난해 하반기부터 저가 화장품 바람이 국내 메이저급 화장품사로 옮겨가면서 국내 화장품 시장이 저가 중심으로 재편되고 있는 상황이다. 그러나 초저가화장품이 화장품 시장에 미친 파장을 일시적인 유행으로 해석하기에는 브랜드 상품 전략에 시사하는 바가 너무 크다. 본 연구는 침체된 화장품 유통에 활력을 준 초저가화장품의 시장 현황과 마케팅 전략을 분석해 소비자들의 초저가화장품에 대한 요구 및 만족도 조사를 통해 초저가화장품의 지속적인 성장에 도움이 되고자 한다. 또한, 초저가 화장품을 사용한 집단이 과반수를 넘으며 초저가화장품의 브랜드 이미지가 전체 시판 시장의 발전에 긍정적이고 활성화 된 평가를 받을 수 있다. 따라서 초저가화장품은 저가의 품질 좋은 화장품으로 만드는 홍보 전략과 차별화 된 마케팅으로 지속적인 성장을 할 수 있을 것이다. The reduced production of domestic cosmetics in 2003, compared to last 5 years shows the recession of cosmetics industry. Under this situation, there has been reorganization on the domestic cosmetic market that low-end cosmetic .products become a trend due to the fact that major cosmetic companies also focus on low-end market since the last half year of 2004. However, it does not seem to be a temporal fashion that the extremely low-end cosmetics had an impact wavelength on cosmetics market. It has important meaning for the brand product strategy. This research focused on analysis of market situation and strategy through investigation of requirement and satisfaction on extremely low-end cosmetics in order to keep and improve it, which stimulated depressed cosmetic market.
