The Purpose of this study is to examine the general structure of polysemy and facets. Polysemous words are understood that one lexeme has many sememe. But in recent years, A study about facets and multi-faceted words have been conducted by Cruse(1995), Lim Ji-Ryong(2011) etc. Lim Ji-Ryong(2011) argues that Korean words consist of 3 types. They are monosemous, polysemous, and faceted words. In this paper, I will also accept such an opinion. But I don`t agree that facets are a kind of a word type. I think that polysemy and facets are a kind of characters on a word. So In Jegal Deok-Ju(2013), I have argued that. And In this paper, I will examine the structure where polysemy and facts coexist. To achieve this, this study will be based on Ogden·Richards(1923).

The purpose of this article is to define the concept of the word “contents” based on the theory of linguistic culture. The primary purpose is to try to figure out the actual meaning of contents through dictionary definition, new understanding by experts, and analysis of co-occurrent words in the usage. Firstly, after comparing each definition in different dictionaries and examining the redefinitions made by the experts, the contextual meaning of “contents” will be examined by analyzing co-occurrent words in the actual sentences. The linguistic cultural feature of a word, which is based on polysemy, can be found when it is examined by the integrated method of dictionary definition, redefinition by experts, and usage analysis. Each method has been used individually in the different research, but there have not been enough attempts to use these methods synthetically in terms of linguistic culture. Therefore, this article attempts to find a new direction in the field of lexical semantics by conducting concept research on the abstract noun “contents” with the integrated perspective, the theory of linguistic culture.

In recent years, YouTube has become one of the most popular platforms for Korean language learners around the world. This study thus examines the contents of some Korean language learning YouTube channels selected from the most popularized among the learners. The data were collected from the YouTube site using some keywords pertaining to the Korean language learning. Then, a qualitative content analysis was conducted on the data to determine the emerging themes and/or concepts, which revealed the following four significant findings. First, the most accessed by learners turned out to be created and provided by major maketing agencies, which aim to promote accessibility and publicity of their contents to their clients. Second, Korean language learners tended to prefer native Korean-speaking teachers, which was figured out by the number of subscribers and the views count on the popular channels and highly rated videos. Third, the analysis of comments and the ‘Like’ count on the channels revealed that video clips edited by various techniques were more attractive to learners than those relying on traditional lecture methods. Finally, the video contents were more eliciting from viewers interactive responses, such as comment or the Like count, when incorporating linguistic components into a range of cultural ones rather than when presenting merely linguistic components per se. The implications drawn out from the findings of the present study are: (1) a professional platform equipped with basic teaching tools should be developed and provided for individual creators and/or instructors; (2) further studies on the ways in which learners search for contents and access to the channels should be done and (3) the contents of the Korean language learning should be customized for learners’ needs and interest, as well as be culturally contextualized.
