Background and Objectives:This study identified the performance degree of health promotion behaviors of the workers who are engaged in beauty business, and related factors in order to obtain basic data for development of health promotion program and health education. Method: This study targeted 103 hair dressers and 100 skin specialists who work in Gwangju, and they were interviewed using questionnaire with short answer questions in October 2003. The data collected were analysed using the following devices: descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple-regression analysis. Results: 1. Health promotion behaviors had 2.76±0.95 when total score was four, which indicated that they had a relatively good management of health promotion behaviors. When specified health promotion behaviors were examined, self-realization had the highest score(2.98±0.58), and exercise had the lowest score(2.03±0.75). 2. When health promotion behaviors of the subjects were examined, there was a statistically significant difference depending on age(P=.025), marriage (P=.000), Position(P=.027), smoking(P=.041), and dhnking(P=.006). 3. It was found that the lower occupational stress of the subjects(r=-0.22, P=.001), the higher the social support(r=0.24, P=.001), and the higher se1f-efficacy(r=0.39, P=.000), the better health promotion behaviors. 4. The predicting factors of health promotion behaviors were smoking, drinking, social support, and self-efficacy, and they explained for 38.1% of health promotion behaviors, Conclusion: Health promotion behaviors of the workers who are engaged in beauty business were affected by various factors. Therefore, in developing future health promotion programs, a careful consideration to reduce stress caused by work and behaviors harmful to health should be given. And to encourage health promotion behaviors, socio-psychological approach through enrichment of social support and self-efficacy should be applied.
광주지역 내 유통 중인 반려동물 사료·간식의 미생물 오염도 및 식품첨가물 사용실태 조사

This study was conducted for safety evaluation on 130 pet food products, which are distributed in Gwangju, South Korea. The microbial contamination part and the usage of food additives part were mainly investigated. The five microorganisms that we tested were total viable cell counts (TVC), Coliforms, Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp., pathogenic Escherichia coli and there were 15 products that exceed the microbial criteria or detected food poisoning bacteria. Specifically, Coliforms (13 products, 10%), TVC (9 products, 6.9%), Salmonella spp. (2 products, 1.5%), and E. coli (2 products, 1.5%) were followed. On the other hand, food additives such as preservatives, antioxidants and sodium nitrite were detected in 61 products. Among the preservatives, sorbic acid and benzoic acid were detected in 58 (44.6%) products. In antioxidants, Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) was detected in 3 (2.3%) products. In addition, preservatives and antioxidants were detected in 8 of 20 products labeled as 'additive-free'. Microbial contamination tended to occur mainly in small-scale individual homemade feed stores, while food additives were all detected in pet shops and supermarkets. Currently, the criteria for microorganisms and food additives for pet foods are insufficient in Korea. So, it is necessary to establish detailed feed standards and specifications for companion animals.
Sm 첨가에 따른 Al-Si-Cu 알루미늄 합금의 미세조직 및 열전도도 변화

In this study, the effects of Sm addition (0, 0.05, 0.2, 0.5 wt%) on the microstructure, hardness, and electrical and thermal conductivity of Al-11Si-1.5Cu aluminum alloy were investigated. As a result of Sm addition, increment in the amount of α-Al and refinement of primary Si from 70 to 10 ㎛ were observed due to eutectic temperature depression. On the other hand, Sm was less effective at refining eutectic Si because of insufficient addition. The phase analysis results indicated that Sm-rich intermetallic phases such as Al-Fe-Mg-Si and Al-Si-Cu formed and led to decrements in the amount of primary Si and eutectic Si. These microstructure changes affected not only the hardness but also the electrical and thermal conductivity. When 0.5 wt% Sm was added to the alloy, hardness increased from 84.4 to 91.3 Hv, and electric conductivity increased from 15.14 to 16.97 MS/m. Thermal conductivity greatly increased from 133 to 157 W/m·K.

In this study, we developed a sensitive and specific reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) assay for rapid visual detection of foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) circulated in Korea. The RT-LAMP was completed in 40 min at 62°C and the results of the assay were directly detected by naked eye without any detection process. The assay specifically amplified all 7 serotypes of FMDV RNAs but not amplified other viral and cellular nucleic acids. The sensitivity of the RT-LAMP was 10<sup>2</sup>, 10<sup>3</sup> and 10<sup>3</sup> TCID<sub>50</sub>/mL for serotype O, A and Asia 1 FMDV, respectively, which was comparable to conventional reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and relatively lower than that of real time quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR). Clinical evaluation of the RT-LAMP using different serotypes of Korean and foreign FMDV strains showed a 100% (35/35) agreement with the results of the RT-PCR and qRT-PCR. These results indicated that RT-LAMP assay developed in this study could be a valuable diagnostic method for FMDV monitoring and surveillance.

Luxury fashion brands have begun to aggressively introduce art to justify inherent values such as tradition, craftsmanship, and exclusivity that make it difficult for luxury brands to uphold awe-inspiring atmosphere. Artification refers to a process in which non-artistic factors are transformed into art or artistic category under the influence of artistic thoughts or actions. In addition, the consumption space provided by brands have become important as the importance of substantial shopping experience has increased. Especially, since the artification is actively utilized in flagship stores in the communication interface with consumers. This study uses a literature review and case studies to typify and derive the meaning of the method for artification at a flagship store that effectively conveys brand identity and value. The types of artification at a luxury fashion brand flagship store are divided into pursuing brand permanency and maintaining brand exclusivity that also provides a new value of permanency like a work of art to a luxury fashion brand. Please This paper presents method of video stabilization based on detection and adaptive motion smoothing filtering of undesirable motion. The proposed algorithm consists of two stages: the detection of undesirable motion and smoothing filtering of detected undesired motion. To incorporate desired properties into the motion smoothing process, the local maximum and the local minimum are defined in a set composed of the parameters of accumulative global motion. Using the local information, the constraints on detecting undesirable motions are defined. Based on these constraints, the alpha parameter of the alpha-trimmed means filter is adjusted, so that the degree of motion smoothing in the reconstructed video sequence is controlled. The experimental results demonstrated the capability of the proposed algorithm. 본 논문은 비의도 움직임 검출 및 적응적 움직임 완화 필터를 이용한 동영상 안정화 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 비의도 움직임 검출 단계와 검출된 비의도 움직임을 완화 필터링하는 단계로 구성된다. 움직임 완화 과정에 요구되는 속성들을 활용하기 위하여 누적 전역 움직임 매개변수들로 구성된 집합의 국부 최대값과 국부 최소값을 정의한다. 국부 정보를 사용하여 비의도 움직임 검출에 필요한 제약조건을 정의하며, 제약조건들을 기반으로 하여 알파-조정 평균 필터의 알파 값을 결정하여 재구성된 동영상의 움직임 완화 정도를 제어한다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안된 방식의 성능 우수성을 입증하였다.
