        Genome sequence of Veillonella atypica KHUD-V1 isolated from a human subgingival dental plaque of periodontitis lesion

        본 논문에서는 한국인 만성 치주염 환자의 치은연하치태에서 분리된 Veillonella atypica KHUD-V1의 유전체 서열을 보고한다. 다른 V. atypica 균주와 달리, KHUD-V1에서는 프로 파지 및 이와 관련된 것으로 추정되는 여러 병독성 인자가 확인되었다. V. atypica KHUD-V1 균주 및 이 균주의 유전체 서열정보는 Veillonella의 유전체 다양성을 진화론적 관점에서 이해하고, V. atypica의 병독성 및 유전적 다양성에 기여하는 프로파지의 역할을 연구하는데 유용할 것이다. Here we report the genome sequence of Veillonella atypica strain KHUD-V1 isolated from subgingival dental plaque of Korean chronic periodontitis patients. Unlike other V. atypica strains, KHUD-V1 carries two prophage regions and prophage remnants, as well as several genes homologous to prophage-associated virulence factors, such as virulence-associated protein E, a Clp protease, and a toxin-antitoxin system. The isolate and its genome sequence obtained here will aid to understand the diversity of the genome architecture of Veillonella within an evolutionary framework and the role of prophages that contribute to the genetic diversity as well as the virulence of V. atypica.

        설하 신경 마비로 인한 설마비 환자 치험 1례

        Hypoglossal nerve palsy is an uncommon neurologic disorder. We report a 67-year-old Korean male with tongue paralysis due to hypoglossal nerve palsy. He had complaints associated only with tongue paralysis and was treated with herbal medicine and electric acupuncture for 12 days. We evaluated his tongue paralysis severity by a numeric rating scale (NRS) and the angle of tongue deviation. After 12 days of treatment, the NRS score showed improvement of his complaints, and the angle of tongue deviation was decreased. Korean medicine could therefore be an effective treatment choice for hypoglossal nerve palsy.

      • 딥러닝을 이용한 공유자전거 정류장별 이용수요예측 기법: 서울시 서대문구를 대상으로

        서울시 공공자전거 서비스 ‘따릉이’는 서울 시민의 생활 교통수단으로 자리 잡았다. 하지만, 공공자전거는 자원이 한정되어 있어 이용자가 이용하고 싶어도 정류장에 자전거가 없어 이용하기 어려운 매칭 실패가 발생하고 있다. 이러한 매칭 실패를 해소하기 위한 재배치 전략을 수립하기 위해서는 시간대별 정류장별 공공자전거 이용 수요예측은 반드시 필요하다. 본 연구는 서울시 공공자전거의 1시간 단위 정류장별 수요예측을 위해 Convolutional Long and Short-Term Memory(Conv-LSTM) 구조를 도입하였다. 또한, 날씨 변수를 수요 예측에 포함하기 위해 날씨 변수를 포함한 딥러닝 구조를 설계하였다. 설계된 모형을 서울시 서대문구의 74개 정류소를 대상으로 적용하였으며 성능의 우수성을 평가하기 위해 다양한 딥러닝 모형을 설계하여 비교하였다.

        태양전지용 SnO<sub>2</sub>:Sb 박막의 제조 조건에 따른 전기적, 광학적 특성 연구

        Antimony doped tin oxide ($SnO_2:Sb$) films, which are used as the front contact and back reflector of thin film solar cells, have been deposited by d,c, magnetron sputtering. The dependence of electrical and optical properties of the films on the preparation conditions, such as $O_2$ gas ratio, substrate temperature, annealing temperature was investigated. The sputter gas composition was found to affect the properties of the films. With incorporating $O_2$ gas, the electrical and optical properties of films significantly were improved. The minimum resistivity and optical transmittance over 80 % in visible region were obtained at the oxygen concentration of 30 %, When the substrate temperature was higher, the resistivity of $SnO_2:Sb$ films was decreased, while the absorption edge shifted to shorter wavelength, indicating higher optical band gap. Heat treatment over $600^{\circ}C$ resulted in poorer electrical and optical properties due to SnO phase (102) plane.

        태양전지용 CdS 박막의 구조적, 광학적 물성에 미치는 스퍼터 전력 효과

        CdS films have been prepared on polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate, and Coming 7059 substrates by r.f magnetron sputtering technique at room temperature. A comparison of the properties of the films deposited on polymer and glass substrates was performed. In addition, the influence of the sputter power on the structural and optical properties of these films was evaluated. The XRD measurements revealed that CdS films were polycrystalline and retained the mixed structure of hexagonal wurtzite and cubic phase, regardless of substrate types. As the sputter power was increased from 75 to 150 Watt, the structure of CdS films was converted from the mixed of hexagonal and cubic phase to hexagonal phase. The morphology of CdS films is found to be continuous and dense. Also, the grain of CdS films is larger with increasing the sputter power. The average transmittance exceeded 80 % in the visible spectrum for all films and decreases slightly with the sputter power.

        산지성호우의 환상스팩트럼 추정

        산악의 영향을 받는 지역에서 비정상성 평균을 사용하는 G.C.모델에 의하여 총강우량의 우량곡면을 구성하였다. 구성된 우량곡면에 2차원 프리에 해석을 실시하여 강우의 주기성분을 분리하였다. 강우의 지엽성분, 즉 강우잔차는 우량곡면에서 주기성분을 제거하여 얻은 강우잔차를 균일한 무작위장의 표본함수라고 가정해서 이 무작위장의 특성을 자기상관함수로 나타냈다. 자기상관함수를 변환하여 스팩트럼 밀도를 구했고, 이 결과를 토대로 한강, 금강유역의 환상스팩트럼 분포함수의 모델을 제안했다. Rainfall is a phenomenon that shows a high variability both in space and time, Hy drologists are usually interested in the description of spatial distribution of rainfall over watershed. The theory of Kriging, generalized covariance technique using nonstationary mean in the regions under orographic effect, was chosen to construct random surface of total storm depth. For the constructed random surface, the double Fourier analysis of the total storm depths was performed, and the principal harmonics of storm were determined. The local component, or storm residuals was obtained by subtracting the periodic component of the storm from total storm depths. It is assumed that the residuals are a sample function of a homogeneous random field. This random field can be characterized by an isotropic one dimensional autocorrelation function or its corresponding spectral density function. Under this assumption, this study proposed a theorectical model for spectral density function adapted to two watersheds.

        AlN/hBN 복합재료의 기계적 성질

        AlN-BN ceramic composites were fabricated and their mechanical properties were investigated. The relative density of hot-pressed composites decreased with increasing BN content, but over $99\%$ could be obtained with 30 $vol\%$ BN in AlN. YAG was formed in the composites and monolithic AlN as a second phase by the reaction between $Y_2O_3$, added as sintering aid, and $Al_2O_3$. As expected, Vickers hardness and Young's modulus decreased with increasing BN content. The three-point flexural strength also showed similar behavior decreasing from 500 MPa of monolith down to 250 MPa by the addition 30 $vol\%$ BN. However, interestingly, the standard deviation of the strength values decreased significantly as BN was added to AlN. As a result, the Weibull modulus of the AlN-30 $vol\% BN composite was 21.3, which was extremely high. Fractography and crack path studies revealed that BN platelets induced grain pull-out and crack bridging in a bigger scale during crack propagation. Consequently, fracture toughness increased as more BN was added, reaching 4.5 $MPa\sqrt{m}$ at 40 $vol\%$ BN.

        기상 자료 미계측 지점의 강우 예보 모형

        The rainfall forecasting model of the short term is improved at the point where meterological data is not gaged. In this study, the adopted model is based on the assumptions for simulation model of rainfall process, meteorological homogeneousness, prediction and estimation of meteorological data. A Kalman Filter technique is used for rainfall forecasting. In the existing models, the equation of the model is non-linear type with regard to rainfall rate, because hydrometer size distribution (HSD) depends on rainfall intensity. The equation is linearized about rainfall rate as HSD is formulated by the function of the water storage in the cloud. And meteorological input variables are predicted by emprical model. It is applied to the storm events over Taech'ong Dam area. The results show that root mean square error between the forecasted and the observed rainfall intensity is varing from 0.3 to 1.01 mm/hr. It is suggested that the assumptions of this study be reasonable and our model is useful for the short term rainfall forecasting at the ungaged point of the meteorological data. 기상 자료 미계측 지점의 단기 강우 예보 모형을 개발하였다. 본 연구 모형은 강우 모의 모형, 기상학적 동질성, 그리고 기상 변수 예측 및 추정에 관한 몇 가지 가정을 전제로 하였으며 강우의 예보에는 칼만 필터 기법을 사용하였다. 기존 모형의 방정식은 수운적 크기 분포(HSD)가 강우 강도에 종속이므로 강우량에 대하여 비선형이다. 본 연구 모형의 방정식은 HSD를 구름층 저류량의 함수로 구성함으로써 강우량에 대하여 비선형이다. 본 연구 모형의 방정식은 HSD를 구름층 저류량의 함수로 구성함으로써 강우량에 대하여 선형화되었다. 또한 기상 입력 변수는 경험 모형에 의하여 예측되었다. 본 연구 모형을 대청댐 유형의 호우 사상에 적용하였다. 그 결과 예보 및 실측 강우 강도간의 평균 자승 오차는 0.30~1.01 mm/hr이었다. 이 결과로 미루어 볼 때, 본 연구 모형에 수반된 가정은 합리적이며 본 연구 모형은 기상 자료 미계측 지점에서 강우를 단기 예보하는데 유용하다고 판단된다.

        망막색소상피세포에서 포도당이 반응성산소종의 생성에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: To investigate the effect of high glucose (HG) on the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells. Methods: ARPE-19 cells were exposed to low glucose (5 mM) and high glucose (HG, 25 mM) for three days. Additionally, 50 μM N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and 100 μM L-arginine were co-exposed. Productions of nitric oxide (NO), ROS, and superoxide were determined by Griess assay, DCFH-DA assay, and modified cytochrome c assay, respectively. Results: HG increased production of NO, ROS, and superoxide. HG-induced cells increased production of superoxide and ROS but were suppressed by NAC and L-arginine (substrate for NO production) as an antioxidant. Conclusions: HG increased ROS production in RPE cells. Thus, HG may cause cellular dysfunction and damage by inducing oxidative stress in RPE cells. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2010;51(2):276-281
