This research deals with the residential environment for the elderly and describes characteristics to give a positive effect on elderly's health and quality of life in Sweden. Five elderly care home recommended by a municipality staff in Stockholm are surveyed on October 2003. The results of this study are as follows: 1) homelike atmosphere is regarded as a basic design concept and is applied to size, materials, scale, color, and furniture of elderly housing in Sweden, 2) regarding of the exterior features, it is similar to the ordinary house rather than institution building, 3) arrangement of spaces is planned for several small groups consisting of 6-8 residents, 4) open-space planning on public kitchen and dinning room allows residents to feel comfortable when they can hear a sound and smell a meal, 5) private flat is to provide amenities for sleeping, rest, storage, social interaction, meals, hygiene and other every activities
인체 조골세포 MG-63 세포증식에 미치는 생약초 추출물의 효과

In the present study we investigated the proliferative effect of human osteoblast MG-63 cell treated with 8 spp. medicinal plant extracts to screen the active compounds. Plant extracts were prepared by ethanol extraction method from Carthamus tinctorius seeds, Rhynchosia volubilis seeds, Camellia japonica leaves, Acanthopanax senticosus root and wood, Eucommia ulmoides bark, Chaenomeles sinensis flesh, Sambucus sieboldiana stem, Achyranthes japonica whole plant. A osteoblast proliferation test was conducted by MTT assay on 24 wellplate. Among 8 extracts, R. volubilis seeds and C. japonica leaves showed relatively strong stimulatory activity on osteoblast proliferation at the concentration of 12.5-200 /mL. Also Chaenomeles sinensis flesh, Sambucus sieboldiana stem, Achyranthes japonica whole plant showed cell viability of above 80% at the concentration of 25 /mL. These results suggested that 3 extracts may have beneficial effects on alveolar bone health through the proliferation of osteoblast cells.

The ABR service class provides feedback based traffic control to transport bursty data traffic efficiently. Feedback based congestion control has first been studied to be applied to unicast connections. Recently, several congestion control algorithms for multicast connections have also been proposed as the number of ABR applications requiring multicast increases. With feedback based congestion control, the effectiveness of a traffic control scheme diminishes as propagation delay increases. Especially for a multicast connection, a remote destination may suffer unfair service compared to a local destination due to the delayed feedback. Amelioration of the disadvantages caused by feedback delay is therefore more important for remote destinations in multicast connections. This paper proposes a new switch behavior to provide effective feedback based traffic control for remote destinations. The proposed switches adjust the service rate dynamically in accordance with the state of the downstream, that is, the congestion of destination is immediately controlled by the nearest upstream switch before the source to ramp down the transmission rate of the connection. The proposed switch has an implementation overhead to have a separate buffer for each VC to adjust the service rate in accordance with a backward RM cell of each VC. The buffer requirement is also increased at intermediate switches. Simulation results show that the proposed switch reduces the cell loss rate in both the local and the remote destinations and also ameliorates the unfairness between the two destinations.

Ingmar Bergman explores the human aspects of both spiritualized internals and physical externals through knight Antonius Block and squire Jons returning after fighting in the Crusades. Bergman also claims the calm integration through an unstable contrast in the set of Sweden in North Europe where lives become exhausted in instant, hypocritical frenzy about religion. That is a conflict between metaphysics and physics, a collision between theology and philosophy; furthermore a realization of unknown world. His film ‘The Seventh Seal’ captures a violent aspect of religion, which exploit the intrinsic fear and terror of humans. It is Hero Paradigm noticed with a character arc displayed in the view of Antonius, who suffers spiritual pain because the Crusades having lasted over 200 years in the medieval era keep silent in the questions about the death and eternals in relation with God and belief. This film reflects theatrical devices into the frame constantly. For example, it borrows Bertolt Brecht’s distanciation by morality play in addition to medieval liturgical drama, farce and interlude. It is remarkable that by rhetoric of Aristoteles, the genres of suggesting, debating, judging are reflected in the sequences of the morality play, the Inn and the Witchhunt, resulting in making an effect of alienation. Thus, It is the intellectual faculties of Bergman as a film composer that have the audience contemplate and analyze every phenomenon suggested.

본 연구에서는, 해조류에 많이 함유되어 있는 알지네이트(alginate)와 피부에 항균력을 부여하므로서 청결감과 염증유발을 예방할 수 있는 4종의 정유를 주요소재로 하여 비드가 함유된 핸드크림 조성물을 제조하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 비드는 알지네이트 농도가 1%일 때 가정 적합한 점탄성을 유지하였으며, 알지네이트 %가 증가됨에 따라 bead의 입자가 단단하여 피부로 방출되는 정유의 양이 감소되었다. 알지네이트 비드와 혼합할 정유는 항균력을 보유하고 있는 편백, 티트리, 로즈제라늄, 버가못을 사용하였으며, 각각 10%의 비율로 비드와 배합하였을 때 가장 안정적이었다. 핸드크림 조성물은 프로랄워터 80%, 세라마이드 10%, 글리세린 10% 로 배합할 때 가장 적합함을 알 수 있었다. 본 실험결과가 상용화되어질 경우, 수많은 환자들을 접하는 의료인들에게 간편하게 사용할 수 있는 항균성 핸드크림 제품이 될 것으로 기대된다.
Ames test 결과와 QSAR를 이용한 변이원성예측치와의 비교

Recently there is increasing interest in the use of structure activity relationships for predicting the biological activity of chemicals. The reasons for the interest include the decrease cost and time per chemical as compared with animal or cell system for identifying toxicological effects of chemicals and the reduction in the use of animals for toxicological testing. This study is to test the validity of the mutagenicity data generated from QSAR (Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship) program. Thirty chemicals, which had been evaluated by Ames test during 1997-1999, were assessed with TOPKAT QSAR mutagenicity prediction module. Among 30 chemicals experimented, 28 were negative and 2 were positive for Ames test. On the contrary, 23 chemicals showed the high confidence level indicating high prediction rate in mutagenicity evaluation, and 7 chemicals showed the low to moderate confidence level indicating low prediction in mutagenicity evaluation. Overall mutagenicity prediction rate was 77% (23/30). The prediction rates for non-mutagenic chemicals were 79% (22/28) and mutagenic chemicals were 50% (1/2). QSAR could be a useful tool in providing toxicological data for newly introduced chemicals or in furnishing data for MSDS or in determining the dose in toxicity testing for chemicals with no known toxicological data.

This study was investigated to find the plan of inflection of soybean curd residue, so we substitute some parts of caseinate when manufacturing the soybean cheese. Soybean cheese is composed of purple-fleshed sweet potato concentrate 7%, green tea powder 3%, pumpkin powder 5%. The pH value was increased by the addition of the assistant materials group and the acidity is opposite to the pH. The moisture content is 22-28%. Spreadability, the spread-out nature is not highly effect on the assistant materials because there is no innate difference between the materials. L(Lightness) value of control group was higher than those of adding the assistant materials. a(redness), b(yellowness) value were higher in pumpkin powder compared with others. Hardness, gumminess and adhesiveness at texture properties of pumpkin powder were higher than those of others, but the cohesiveness and springiness was the highest in the added green tea powder.14) In the sensory evaluations, purple-fleshed sweet potato concentrate was shown to have good taste, color, flavor, mouth feel, appearance, beany flavor and bitter taste. With this, the concentrate is most suitable for the soybean cheese on increasing the quality of the specific character which is added the soybean curd residue.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the Bartholin`s gland is a rare malignancy of the female genital tract and there have been 62 cases of ACC of the Bartholin`s gland in the Literature. We report two cases of ACC of the Bartholin`s. There is no consensus on optimal treatment of ACC of the Bartholin`s gland. Most commonly, wide Local excision and radical vulvectomy with or without Lymph node dissection, are performed. More Long-term follow up is recommended to evaluate optimal primary treatment and roles of radiotherapy and chemotherapy because ACC of the Bartholin`s gland recur and metastasize Long after primary treatment.
