Purpose: To investigate the clinical courses of children with functional visual loss and to evaluate their psychosocial problems. Methods: Thirteen children who visited the ophthalmic clinic of Dankook University Hospital because of functional vision loss between August 1, 2005 and January 1, 2009 were examined to establish the cause of lost vision. The results of the child behavior checklist-Korean version (K-CBCL) and the Korean personality inventory for children (KPI-C) were obtained in nine out of the 13 children. Results: The mean visual acuities at the initial and last visits for nine children in the functional visual loss group were 0.58 ± 0.28 and 0.89 ± 0.31, respectively. Somatic complaints, social problems and overall behavioral problems were statistically significantly different from those of the control group according to the K-CBCL, and somatic concern was statistically significantly different from that of the control group according to the KPI-C. Conclusions: Children in the functional visual loss group had different traits from those in the control group according to the K-CBCL and KPI-C. Children's psychosocial problems could be expressed as somatic symptoms, of which vision loss should be considered a major factor. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2010;51(8):1092-1098
두 변화검출 마스크를 이용한 3차원 영상분할 초저속 동영상 부호화

A new 3-D segmentation-based coding technique is proposed for transmitting the motion video with reasonablly acceptable quality even at a very low bit rate. Only meaningful motion areas are extracted by using two change detection masks and a current frame is directly segmented rather than a difference frame itself so that a good quality of image can be obtained at high compression ratios. Through the experiments, the sequence of Miss America is reconstructed with visually acceptable quality at the very high compression ratio of 360:1. 아주 높은 압축률에서도 시각적으로 만족할 만한 동영상을 전송할 수 있는 3차원 영상 분할기반 부호화법을 제안하였다. 두개의 변화검출 마스크를 이용하여 동영상에서 의미있는 움직임 영역만을 효과적으로 추출하고 또한, 차영상을 분할하는 대신 현재 프레임을 직접 분할함으로써 높은 압축률에서도 우수한 품질의 영상을 얻을 수 있다. 실험을 통해, 제안된 방법은 Miss America의 연속영상을 360배 정도의 압축률로 전송하였을 경우에도 재생영상의 품질이 우수함을 확인하였다.
해계 유침과 전침이 loperamide로 저하된 흰 쥐의 장운동에 미치는 영향

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of acpuncture and electro-acupuncture of low(EA(L)) and high(EA(H)) frequency at Haegye(ST41) on intestinal hypomotility induced with loperamide in rats. Methods : We made suppressed state of intestinal motility with loperamide in rats and carried out needle retention acupuncture, low frequency electro-acupuncture and high frequency electro-acupuncture at ST41 in rats devided into pre-treatment group and post-treatment group. We fed charcoal to them after the treatment and measured the travel rate of charcoal in the gastrointestinal track to analyze which treatment is more effective in state of intestinal hypomotility. Results : None of acupuncture, EA(L) and EA(H) at ST41 had significant influences on intestinal motility of rat in normal state. Needle retention at ST41 did not significantly increase intestinal motility suppressed with loperamide in rats. Pre-treatment of EA(L) and EA(H) at ST41 significantly increased intestinal motility suppressed with loperamide in rats. Post-treatment of EA(L) and EA(H) at ST41 did not have significant influences on intestinal motility of rat in normal state. Conclusions : These results suggest that treatment of EA(L) and EA(H) at ST41 may be effective on gastric disorders such as intestinal hypomotility and its effect had more prevention than cure. Further study is necessary to know more effects of ST41 and electro-acupuncture of low and high frequency.
돼지 $\beta$-Casein을 이용한 EGFP 발현 Knock-in 벡터의 구축 및 발현 검증

This study was carried out to develop knock-in vector for EGFP (enhanced green fluorescent protein) expression in porcine $\beta$-casein locus. For construction of knock-in vector using porcine $\beta$-casein gene, we cloned the $\beta$-casein genome DNA from porcine fetal fibroblast cells, EGFP and SV40 polyA signal using PCR. The knock-in vectors consisted of a 5-kb fragment as the 5' recombination arm and a 2.7-kb fragment as the 3' recombination arm. We used the neomycin resistance gene ($neo^{r}$) as a positive selectable marker and the diphtheria toxin A (DT-A) gene as a negative selectable marker. To demonstrate EGFP expression from knock-in vector, we are transfected knock-in vector that has EGFP gene in murine mammary epithelial cell line HC11 cells with pSV2 neo plasmid. The EGFP expression was detected in HC11 cells transfected knock-in vector. This result demonstrates that this knock-in vector may be used for the development of knock-in transgenic pig. 본 연구는 돼지 $\beta$-casein 유전자 위치에서 EGFP가 발현될 수 있는 knock-in 벡터를 구축하기 위하여 실시되었다. 돼지의 $\beta$-casein 유전자를 이용하여 knock-in 벡터를 구축하기 위해 돼지의 태아 섬유아세포로부터 $\beta$-casein 유전자를 동정하였고 EGFP, SV4O polyA signal을 동정하였다. Knock-in 벡터는 5' 상동 영역 약 5 kb와 3' 상동 영역 약 2.7 kb로 구성되어있으며, positive selection marker로 $neo^{r}$ 유전자를, negative selection marker로 DT-A 유전자를 사용하였다. 구축된 knock-in 벡터로부터 EGFP의 발현을 확인하기 위하여 생쥐 유선 세포인 HC11 세포에 knock-in 벡터를 도입하였다. 그 결과 EGFP의 발현을 HC11 세포에서 확인하였다. 이와 같은 결과로서 이 block-in 벡터는 knock-in 형질전환 돼지를 생산하는데 사용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
미숙아로 출생한 학령전기 아동 어머니의 양육 스트레스의 영향요인

Purpose: This study was conducted to describe parenting stress in mothers of preschoolers who were born prematurely and to determine factors affecting parenting stress in child's problem behavior, mother-child interaction and parenting alliance. Methods: An exploratory survey study was conducted with 66 mothers of preschool children (5~6 years) with preterm births (PTB). Data were collected using Parenting Stress Index (PSI), Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Mother-Preschool Child Interaction Scale (MPIS), and Parenting Alliance Inventory (PAI). Results: Of the 66 mothers, 8(12.1%) showed high scores that were more than borderline for the PSI total score. In the multiple linear regression analysis, lower scores on the PAI (${\beta}=-.41$, p<.001), higher scores on the externalizing problem behavior of the CBCL (${\beta}=.40$, p=.001), and lower scores on the MPIS (${\beta}=-.21$, p=.043) were statistically significant contributors to maternal parenting stress. Conclusion: Findings indicate that mothers of PTB preschool children are at risk for parenting stress. Child's externalizing problem behavior, poor maternal-child interaction and parenting alliance were independent factors raising maternal parenting stress. More attention is needed on paternal parenting support, child's behavioral development, interaction with children for effective prevention and management of maternal parenting stress of PTB young children.
