        금속·재료 분야 전산재료과학 사용설명서

        Computational approaches such as first-principles calculations, atomistic simulations, phase field simulations, computational thermodynamics and finite element method simulations are widely used in the metals and materials community. Even with their successful applications for better understanding of material phenomena, and the design of new materials or processes, a gap remains between the results of computational approaches and experimental data. This gap originates with differences in the computational and experimental conditions, and limits the wider application of computational approaches. In this review article, some successful examples of computational materials and process design are outlined, focusing on ways to utilize the results of computational approaches. It will be emphasized that it is more important to clarify the governing mechanism of materials phenomena from the effects of individual experimental variables on simulation results rather than make an effort to obtain good agreement between simulations and experiments with phenomenological issues. It will be also emphasized that research efforts to extend the applicability of the computational approaches are continuously required.

        Cadaver Study for Spinal Fusion Surgery Using an Image-guided Surgical Robot System

        We present a novel surgical robotic system for spinal fusion that includes a computer-based planning algorithm, O-type bi-planar fluoroscopy, and a surgical robot. The planning system determines a surgical path based on fluoroscopy images or a 3D image reconstructed using pre-operative CT data. The robot guides the surgical path that the surgeon generates with the planning system. In this cadaver study, we tested the performance of the robotic system in the treatment of eight lumbar vertebrae by comparing CT images recorded before and after surgery.

        Objectives The aim of this study was to investigate various factors associated with the willingness to visit psychiatric clinics among the general adult population in Bucheon city, South Korea. Methods One thousand seventy-five adults completed a self-questionnaire assessing their willingness to visit psychiatric clinics, family history of mental illnesses, frequency of contact with the mentally ill, stigma and discrimination toward the mentally ill, and the Community Attitude toward the Mentally Ill (CAMI). Logistic regression analyses were performed to identify variables associated with the willingness to visit psychiatric clinics. Results Study results showed that being single was associated with reduced willingness to visit psychiatric clinics. Subjects who had more frequent contact with mentally ill patients were more willing to visit psychiatric clinics. Concerning the CAMI scale, higher scores in authoritarianism and lower scores in benevolence subscales were associated with greater willingness to visit psychiatric clinic. Subjects who strongly admitted the existence of the stigma, and discrimination, toward mentally ill patients were more willing to visit psychiatric clinics. Conclusion Enhanced understanding of the factors associated with the willingness to visit psychiatric clinics would be helpful in reducing barriers to mental health services utilization in the community.

        Screw-Based Kinematic Modeling and Geometric Analysis of Planar Mobile Robots

        Typical mobile robots can be modeled as parallel mechanisms by employing an interfacing variable between the ground and the wheels. Based on this conception, the screw theory was employed in the following work as an alternative approach in the modeling of such parallel-natured mobile robots. This theory allows for a geometric analysis of mobile mechanisms. As a result, the computational load in the derivation of a Jacobian model can be reduced, the kinematic model for different sets of inputs can be easily obtained, and an equivalent serial-chain model can be analyzed. Two mobile robots were examined as exemplary models. The proposed approach can also be applied to kinematic modeling and the analysis of general types of mobile robots.

        Behavior of Plasma-doped Graphene upon High Temperature Vacuum Annealing

        Herein, we present the behavior of plasma-doped graphene upon high-temperature vacuum annealing. An ammonia plasma-treated graphene sample underwent vacuum annealing for 1 h at temperatures ranging from 100 to 500 oC. According to Raman analysis, the structural healing of the plasma-treated sample is more pronounced at elevated annealing temperatures. The crystallite size of the plasma-treated sample increases from 13.87 to 29.15 nm after vacuum annealing. In addition, the doping level by plasma treatment reaches 2.2 × 1012 cm−2 and maintains a value of 1.6 × 1012 cm−2, even after annealing at 500 oC, indicating high doping stability. A relatively large decrease in the pyrrolic bonding components is observed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy as compared to other configurations, such as pyridinic and amino bindings, after the annealing. This study indicates that high-vacuum annealing at elevated temperatures provides a method for the structural reorganization of plasma-treated graphene without a subsequent decrease in doping level.

        차량시뮬레이터를 이용한 고속도로 복합선형구간에서의 운전자 감성평가

        This study modeled 4-lane highway in three-dimensional virtual reality in order to overcome difficulties of field experiment, and the research subject was placed in a driving simulator. We survey the driver's cognitive characteristics to the alignment changes in the three-dimensional virtual reality highway. Especially, maximizing the identity of driving movements and virtual scenery on the basis of the data obtained by dynamic analysis module, we minimized simulator sickness for the graphic module of driving simulator. And we carried out cognitive evaluation on the basis of adjective words extracted by dictionary and the opinion of specialist. In this study, LISREL model was used to detect the causal relation between geometry and safety in cognitive side, and found that geometric change affects the safety of drivers by static and dynamic road safety model in three-dimensional combined alignments. As the result, for constructing safety road, we consider drivers‘ cognitive characteristics as human factors in road design, and we think that they are very important factors to improve road safety. 본 연구에서는 현장실험 실시의 제약을 극복하기 위해 3차원 가상현실(Virtual Reality)로 4차로 고속도로를 모델링한 후, 피실험자가 차량시뮬레이터(Driving Simulator)에 탑승하고 주행하면서 혼합곡선부의 선형변화에 대한 동적인 반응 데이터를 획득함과 동시에 도로 기하구조 이미지 인지특성 데이터를 획득하였다. 특히, 본 실험에 적용된 차량시뮬레이터의 그래픽 모듈은 동역학 해석 모듈로 얻은 데이터에 기초하여 운동재현기와 가상환경의 일치감을 최대로 하여 피실험자로 하여금 Simulator Sickness를 최소화하도록 하였으며, 감성요인으로 사용된 어의는 국어사전 및 전문가의 견해를 바탕으로 추출된 7개 항목의 형용사를 바탕으로 감성평가를 실시하였다. 또한 감성적인 측면에서 도로 선형과 안전성에 대한 인과관계를 규명하기 위하여 LISREL(Linear Structural Relationships) 모형을 이용하여 정적인 도로 안전성 모형과 동적인 도로 안전성 모형을 구축하여 복합선형구간에서 도로 기하구조의 변화에 따른 운전자들의 안전성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하였다. 그 결과, 도로 설계시 운전자의 감성적인 측면을 고려한 도로 설계가 필요하며 이는 안전한 도로를 건설하는데 있어 매우 중요한 요인이며 이를 통하여 도로 안전성 향상에 기여할 수 있다고 생각된다.이 논문은 2002년도 원광대학교의 교비 지원에 의해서 수행됨.
