Purpose: This work aimed to elucidate the anti-inflammatory effect of pegmatite in vitro and in vivo. Methods: Author evaluated the suppressive effects of pegmatite on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated nitric oxide(NO) production, TNF-α and IL-6 release in the RAW 264.7 murine macrophages. Results: Treatment of RAW 264.7 cells with pegmatite significantly reduced LPS-stimulated NO production and inflammatory cytokine such as TNF-α and IL-6 secretion in a concentration-dependent manner. Also pegmatite showed topical anti-inflammatory activity in the arachidonic acid(AA)-induced ear edema and acetic acid-induced increase in capillary permeability assessment in mice. It was also found that pegmatite(10mg per ear in DW) inhibited arachidonic acid induced edema at 24 h more profoundly than 1h by topical application. Furthermore, the vascular permeability increase induced by acetic acid was significantly reduced in mice that received pegmatite in 50mg per mouse. New record of subfamily Prometopinae (Coleoptera: Cucujoidea: Nitidulidae) in Korea
이민혁,이승현,이승환 한국응용곤충학회 2018 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.21 No.1
The subfamily Prometopinae Böving and Craighead, 1931 is recorded from Korea for the first time. Two speciesfrom different genera are recognized; Prometopia unidentata Hisamatsu, 1959 and Paramatopia x-rubrum Reitter,1884. Morphological comments, biology, illustrations of habitus with genitalia of both sexes and a key to speciesfrom Korea are provided.

Generally, blow out fractures have been operated using commercial materials such as silicone sheet, titanium mesh plate and Medpor(porous polyethylene sheet). However, it is thought that the autogenous bone graft is better,in consideration of infection, foreign body sensation, protrusion of inserted materials, and displacement. We have operated blow out fractures with or without Medpor or mesh plate in pure blow out fractures and have repaired orbital wall defect with “anterior wall of maxillary antrum” in case of impure ones associated with maxillary fracture. From January 1997 to July 2001, 93 patients were operated using the artificial or autogenous material and 11 of them using maxillary antral wall. The fragment of anterior antral wall which had been previously fractured was trimmed with saw and burr and inserted over the defect. The follow-up period ranges from 3 months to 3 years, and the results were satisfactory without complications. The postoperative orbital CT scannig showed that the bone graft was well attached. In repairing orbital wall defect with antral wall, we obtained satisfactory results without complications such as infection, foreign body sensation, pain, protrusion displacement, depression and sinusitis.

Since the nose is the most prominent and impressive part in the face, plastic surgeons try to make an ideal nose. Thus, plastic surgeons can aid patients to make significant psychosocial changes in their lives. 104 of 132 patients who received corrective rhinoplasty were requested to answer the study designed to assess their satisfaction and psychological reactions to the operation. Preoperatively, patients filled out a questionnaire about their expectations, relationships, self-confidence, self-esteem, and so on. Postoperatively, they completed a similar questionnaire. Preoperative and postoperative information was also obtained from the surgeons and nurses. 81% of the patients expected that rhinoplasty would change their lives. And 96% of the patients were satisfied with the results. The surgeons were usually more critical about the surgical results than the patients. A number of patients had increased self-confidence and self-esteem.These findings would be useful in understanding of postoperative satisfaction and psychological reactions after corrective rhinoplasties.

P-100 Treatment of adenoviral ARDS by cidofovir with ECMO: cases series and literature review
이민혁,김슬기,권오정,김지혜,정인범,손지웅,나문준,권선중 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 2016 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 추계학술대회 초록집 Vol.121 No.-
Adenovirus infections were associated with respiratory (especially upper respiratory infection rather than lower respiratory infection), gastrointestinal disease, occurring primarily in infant and children. Although lower respiratory infection of this virus in adults is rare, severe infection including pneumonia is reported in specific population -military recruits and immunocompromised adults occasionally. Antiviral treatment to adenovirus is challenging due to infrequent clinical experiences and lack of well controlled randomized trial. Several cases of adenoviral pneumonia reported previously, and showed promising efficacy of cidofovir. But, there were few reports showing the efficacy of cidofovir in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients. We experienced 3cases of adenoviral pneumonia complicated ARDS treated with cidofovir and respiratory support including extracorporeal membrane oxygenator (ECMO) therapy. All of 3 patients showed clinical response to cidofovir and survived at 28 days. Cidofovir with early ECMO therapy may be the possible therapeutic option in adenoviral ARDS patients. In the literature review, 15 cases of adenovirus pneumonia complicated with ARDS were found and reviewed.
