Purpose : To evaluate the differential features of complete and partial-thickness tears of the posteriorcruciate ligament(PCL) and to describe associated knee injuries at magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). Materials andmethods : Twenty-four subjects were studied,including 15 with complete PCL tears and 9 with partial PCL tears. ThePCL status was determined at arthroscopy in all cases. Knee MRI were perfomed at 1.0 Tesla using a dedicated kneesurface coil. Two radiologists retrospectively reviewed MR images and correlated MRI findings to results ofarthroscopy. Results : There was no statistically significant difference between complete tears and partial tearswith regard to thickness, margination, and signal intensity of the PCL. However, complete tears were more likelyto show focal areas of ligamentous discontinuity (13/15:3/9,p=0.0073). Associated knee injuries were seen in22(92%) patients and were seen more frequently in patients with complete PCL tears, which were bonyinjuries(n=16,67%), tears of the medial collateral ligament(n=12,50%) and menisci(n=11,46%), and stage III jointeffusion(n=17,71%). Conclusion : The most useful MRI criteria for distinguishing complete from partial PCL tear isfocal area of ligamentous discontinuity, that is, complete tears are more likely to show focal areas ofdiscontinuity, whereas partial tears are more likely to show at least some intact fibers.

쌀전분에 무수초산을 반응시켜 치환도가 다른 초산 쌀전분들을 제조하여 이들의 이화학적 특성을 비교ㆍ검토하였다. % acetyl 함량과 치환도 측정에서 무수초산의 함량이 증가함에 따라 쌀전분의 % acetyl 함량(0.64~2.71%)과 치환도(0.025~0.104)는 현저히 증가하였다. Amylose 함량은 초산기의 영향으로 소폭 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 원료쌀전분의 팽윤력(24.3 g)과 용해도(8.11%)는 초산 쌀전분 (팽윤력: 29.2~37.9 g, 용해도: 8.42~9.55%)보다 낮았으며, 치환도가 증가할수록 팽윤력과 용해도도 함께 증가하였다. RVA에 의한 호화 특성 측정에서 원료 쌀전분의 최고점도는 4457 cP로 나타났으며, 치환도가 증가할수록 최고점도(4536~5268 cP)는 증가하였다. 호화개시온도는 치환도가 증가할수록 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 광투과도 측정에서는 초산 쌀전분의 치환도가 증가할수록 광투과도는 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 주사전자현미경으로 관찰한 원료 쌀전분과 초산 쌀전분의 입자크기는 치환도에 따른 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 전분겔의 이수현상측정에서는 초산 쌀전분의 치환도가 증가할수록 이수현상이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. Acetylated rice starches were prepared by reaction of rice starch with acetic anhydride, and their physi-cochemical properties as a function of degree of substitution (DS) were evaluated. The percentage of acetyl group and DS were 0~2.71% and 0~0.104, respectively. DS increased with increase in acetic anhydride content. DS increased swelling power and solubility of rice starch. Light transmittance (%) values of acetylated rice starches were much higher than that of native rice starch and increased with increase in DS. Rapid Visco Analyzer initial pasting temperature of acetylated rice starches decreased with increase in DS, while peak viscosity and breakdown values increased. Starch gels showed a significant decrease in syneresis (%) with the increase in DS.

Puryose : Hepatic arterial perfusion scintigraphy with Tc 99m macroggregated albumin (HAPS) study was carried out in 16 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and in six patients without liver tumor to evaluate HAPS findings of hepatocellular carcinoma and usefullness of HAPS, Materials and Methods : HAPS with planar and SPECT study were performed in 22 patients after conventional hepatic or celiac arteriography. For HAPS study, 4 5 mCi of MAA mixed with 2ml of saline was injected into proper hepatic artery or its distal branches at the rate of approximately 1ml/sec. We anatysed 21 HCCs over 2cm in diameter(average diameter : 6.4cm) and 17 of 21 HCCs were over 4cm in diameter(Table 1). CT, sonography and angiography were performed within two week in all 16 patients and liver scan was performed in 12 patients. Results : Three different pattern of tumor perfusion were observed in 16 pat.ients with HCC (Table 2), 1) diffuse increased perfusion in 16 of 21(76%)(Fig. 1) 2) increased peripheral perfusion in 4 of 21(19%)(Fig. 2) 3) diffuse decreased perfusion in 1 of 21(5%) Arteriovenous shunt indicated by lung uptake of MAA were observed in 9 of 16(56% ) (Fig. 4). In contrast, angiography demonstrates arteriovenous shunt in 2 of 16(13%). There was no accumulation of radioactivity on RRC blood pool scan in all six patients with HCC examined (Fig. 1). Conclusion : HAPS is useful study in evaluation of perfusion pattern or vascularity of HCC and in detection of arteriovenous shunt.
