About 95 % of the foundations of buildings with three or more stories in Korea are constructed on a Pile Foundation, and such Pile Foundation has problems such as excessive construction costs, environmental problems due to the use of heavy equipment, and delays of construction due to frequent public resentment. In order to solve these problems, eco-friendly and cast-in-place Caps Foundation was developed that directly pours concrete on site. In this paper, to find the optimal mixing ratio of early strength concrete to be applied to the cast-in-place Caps Foundation, the changes in compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and flexural strength of three concrete types of different cements by age were examined. As a result, all three concretes satisfies the target values of 21 MPa of compressive strength and 3 MPa of flexural strength at 5 days. Especially, EPC using early strength portland cement reached the target values after 3 days. Therefore, it was decided to use the mixture of BFC using blast furnace slag cement as the optimal mixing ratio, and to use the mixture of EPC using early strength portland cement at the special field where additional time reduction is required.
Towards Scalable and Cost-efficient Software-Defined 5G Core Network

Network and network functions virtualization (NFV) promise a number of attractive benefits and thus have driven mobile network operators to transform their previously static networks to more dynamic and software-defined networks. In this article, we share a mobile network operator’s view based on implementation and deployment experiences in the wild during the past few years towards a software-defined 5G core network. More specifically, we present a practical point of view from mobile network operators and elaborate on why some of the virtualization benefits such as total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction are not easily realized as initially intended. Then, we describe 5G visions, services, and their requirements commonly agreed across mobile operators globally. Given the requirements, we then introduce desirable characteristics of 5G mobile core network and its key enabling technologies.

Geijibokryunghwan has a wide range of therapeutic applications, and some reports have indicated that it has protective activity against atherosclerosis, and more specifically stroke and myocardial infarction. A recent report showed that atherosclerotic plaque volume can be reduced by supplying Geijibokryunghwan extracts for several years. In this study, we used a component of Geijibokryunghwan, which has been used for the prevention of atherosclerosis in Korea for several years, and has proven to be useful in lowering the occurrence of cerebral infarction. In a preliminary study, we found that Geijibokryunghwan potently suppressed platelet aggregation induced by various agonists.
