The condensed results of the analytical study on 361 doctoral dissertations in science education recorded in Dissertation Abstracts International during the years of 1985 - 1989 are as follows: About eighty to hundred dissertations were produced annually, but a slight decline in number was noted currently. About 94.4% of dissertations were produced by the universities in the USA. The research data of 361 dissertations were collected from 25 countries. Over 40% of total dissertations had been focused on high school(senior middle school) and college students as the source of research. Disciplines of science constituting the background of dissertations were biologj(19.1%), physics(12.7%), chemistry(12.0%) and earth science(2.5%). Concerning the research branches, the number of dissertations belonging to complex research(composed of experimental and theoretical research) was 118(32.7%) and those belonging to experimental and theoretical research were 88( 24.4%) and 74(20.5%) respectively. Also that belonging to computer-aided research was 45(12.5%). The general methods of data collection were examination & test(34.9% ), questionaire(22.2 %) and complex method(l9.1%). The main areas of dissertations were academic achievement(31.8%), teaching assessment nd pedagogy(18.8%).

The K-edge absorption spectra of Fe and FeO are measured by X-ray absorption spectroscope Comparisons to theory are made for both the Fe and FeO data. We attempt to interpret origins of the spectral near-edge structure. For themetal Fe, We find agreement between the data and one-electron calculations. Peaks of near edge structure of FeO can not explain with one-electron transition model. For explanation of these peak, we find that the core-exciton and many-body effects must be taken into account. From the extended X-ray absorpticn fine structure (EXAFS), we determined distance to the nearest neighbour. The results agree with the value from the X-ray diffraction experiment.

The food service industry has been growing consonantly so far and, as a consequence, such development of the industry is demanding individual employees of the industry for the ability to make work-related decisions for themselves based on their expert skills and knowledge. Most importantly, the industry is emphasizing the significance of voluntary career improvement of the individual employees. Specifically, in terms of what the employees of the food service industry do, since the employees keep dealing with customers and since their work environments continuously change, and career improvement to actively cope with such changes in the environment has been a main assignment not only to the individual employees but also food service corporations. In the light of that, this study selected employees of the food service corporations as research subjects and with this structurally-related hypothesis that learning organization climate of employees' organizations has significant effects both on protean career orientation and career satisfaction set up, the study conducted an empirical analysis to verify the hypothesis using SPSS and AMOS. As a result, learning organization climate of the food service corporations turned out to have a positive influence on protean career orientation and career satisfaction. Based on what had been learned above, the study came up with a few key implications as follows. First of all, the study is considered academically significant in that it had empirically confirmed findings of previously-conducted researches and had presented a possibility of a new argument as analyzing the structural relations among all those contemporary career concepts, protean career orientation, learning organization climate and career satisfaction.

Colorimetric sensor has been prepared for easy and simple detection of metal ion in aqueous solution. Metallochromic dyes which change color when combining certain metal ion are introduced to prepare colorimetric sensors. In order to introduce dye into hydrogel, metallochromic dyes are modified to acrylic monomer using esterification reaction. Dye functionalized hydrogels are prepared in the forms of bulk and porous using dye functionalized monomer and processed to manufacture user-friendly sensing kit. Porous hydrogel shows faster detecting time than that of bulk. The color change of sensing kit could be confirmed according to concentration of each metal and be tabulated using sensing kit of porous type. Fast and efficiently metal ion detecting ability is expected using the proper data-process of colors.

The fusion cross sections induced by heavy-ions have been studied in the basis of the customary barrier penetration model (BPM) with the incoming wave boundary condi-tion(1WBC) and also by the direct reaction approach. The latter explained well the fusion data as well as the elastic scattering in the sub-barrier energy region, while the former underestimated the observed fusion cross sections. The shape of the fusion potential within the framework of the direct reaction theory of fusion has also been investigated. A fusion with a smooth Fermi-type surface, treating the radius and diffuseness as parameters, is assumed. It turns out that the fusion cross sections below the barrier are very sensitive to the diffuseness for a given radius parameter. It is also found that the diffuseness should be small in order to be consistent with the concept of a direct reaction, and recently accumulated data for the spin distributions of the compound nucleus.

SI unit is a new unit that is used world wide nowadays. We have used various unit SI unit is more preferable than the others. In many countries, SI unit is generally using in the science, industry and other fields. Some problems were extracted in this article. 1. SI unit that was regulated by the C. G. P. M is admitted internationally. So, it is desirable to admit SI unit in Korea. 2. The education about the new unit to school teachers is advisable first. 3. The use of the SI unit must be generalized by the regulation of the authories concernced.

1. In the speed of wind, mean value was 3.6m/sec at Jeju-Do during the years 1970∼1979. Each value of wind speed at Jeju city and Seogwipo were 4.0m/sec and 3.4m/sec respectively. In consequence of topographical form of Halla Mt., the declination of wind speed between Jeju city and Seogipo was 1.4m/sec during the period from December to March. Each value at Jeju city and Seoguipo were 4.8m/sec and 3.4m/sec respetively. 2. The direction of wind was northwesterly wind at Jeju city in winter but it was not to be at Seoguipo due to topographical form of Halla Mt.
