The 1H and 13C NMR spectra of chivosazole F from Sorangium cellulosum were completely assigned by a combination of 1D and 2D NMR techniques. The configurations of double bonds were confirmed from the ROESY spectra. The stereochemistry at asymmetric carboncenters was partially assigned on the basis of the results of NOE analysis. 영어논문
KNbO<sub>3</sub> 치환이 (Li,Na,K)(Nb,Sb,Ta)O<sub>3</sub>계 세라믹스의 유전 및 압전 특성에 미치는 영향

In this study, $KNbO_3$-substituted (Li,Na,K)(Nb,Sb,Ta)$O_3$ ceramics were investigated to develop Pb-free composition ceramics for multilayer actuator and energy harvester applications. The X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that all samples were pure perovskite phase and no secondary phase was found. A tetragonality as a function of $KNbO_3$ substitution showed the maximum value at 1.5 mol% $KNbO_3$ and then decreased. The SEM image analysis showed the maximum grain size of $3.14{\mu}m$ at 1.5mol% $KNbO_3$. In the composition ceramics with 1.5 mol% $KNbO_3$ sintered at $1,100^{\circ}C$, excellent properties of density= 4.75 $g/cm^3$, electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$)= 0.50 and piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$)= 290 pC/N were obtained, respectively, suitable for piezoelectric actuator and energy harvester applications.

[ $[Li_{0.04}(Na_{0.54}K_{0.46})_{0.96}](Nb_{1-0.04-X}TaxSb_{0.04})O_3$ ]lead-free piezoelectric ceramics have been prepared by normal sintering at $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 5 h. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that specimens demonstrate orthorhombic symmetry when $Ta\leq5$ mol%. While transforming into tetragonal symmetry when $x\geq20$ mol%. These suggest that the orthorhombic and tetragonal phases co-exist in the ceramics with 5 mol% <Ta<20 mol% at room temperature. All samples have high density, ranging from 4.46 to 4.79 g/$cm^3$. As the result of SEM images, the grain growth was decreased with the increase of Ta substitution. The ceramics become 'softening', leading to improvements in $k_p$, $\varepsilon_r$ and $d_{33}$, but a decrease in $Q_m$. Excellent properties of $k_p$= 0.46, $d_{33}$= 293 pC/N, ${\varepsilon}_r$= 1,583 and Tc= $340^{\circ}C$ were obtained when Ta= 15 mol%.

In this study, in order to develop the lead-free piezoelectric ceramics with high piezoelectric and dielectric properties, (K0.5Na0.5)(Nb0.97Sb0.03)O3 ceramics were fabricated using a conventional mixed oxide process and their piezoelectric and dielectric characteristics were investigated according to the K5.4Cu1.3Ta10O29 addition. K5.4Cu1.3Ta10O29 addition enhanced density, electromechanical coupling factor(kp) piezoelectric constant d33 and mechanical quality factor(Qm). At the 0.9 mol% K5.4Cu1.3Ta10O29 addition, density, electromechanical coupling factor(kp), dielectric constant(εr) and piezoelectric constant(d33) of specimen showed the optimum values of 0.46, 471, and 148 pC/N, respectively.
Etching of Silicon by Laser Beam Direct Writing

Etching of single crystal and polycrystalline Si was studied by direct scanning of a focused CW Ar<sup>+</sup>-laser beam CI<sub>2</sub> as a etchant. Variation of the laser power and/or the scan speed showed that there exits a certain threshold power density for both type of samples, which indicates that the etching reaction is a melt-enhanced process rather than a phtochemical one. The depth and width of the etch-profile under various conditions could be interpreted in terms of the spatial temperature distribution of the illuminated wafer surface. With a UV-line and very slow scan speed, a V-shaped groove could also be etched. Some possible applications of the method for VLSI fabrication will be discussed.

Persicaside has been isolated as a new alkaloid natural compound from a methanol (EtOA)-soluble extract of Prunus persica seed. It was purified by a combination of chromatographic techniques and recrystallization. The structure of Persicaside was determined by extensive NMR experiments and mass ppectroscopic data. It inhibited nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production via suppression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2 expression in rat osteoblast sarcoma cells (ROS 17/2.8) in concentration-dependent manner whereas it spares the COX-1 enzyme activity.

Sarcotragins C (1) and D (2), two novel compounds, have been isolated from the sponge Sarcotragus sp. collected from Jaeju Island, Korea. The structures of these compounds have been determined to be linear sesterterpene alkaloids on the basis of combined 1D and 2D NMR experiments. The stereochemistry involved was established by comparison of the NMR data with those reported for a similar compound. 영어논문
NMR study on secondary metabolites isolated from an identified tunicate

Four secondary metabolites from an unidentified tunicate were isolated by treatment with trichloroethyl chloroformate(TECF) or acetic anhydride in pyridine. Their structures were determined by an extensive NMR analysis and the configuration of diacetyl derivatives(3a, 4a) was assigned by comparing with NMR data of a similar compound. Three new naturally occurring compounds (1, 3, 4) showed potent brine shrimp lethality and antifungal effect against Candia albicans. 영어논문
