After being born, all humans shall face death and they wonder about death. Moreover, they doubt and afraid of the world after death. Therefore, they have generated faith and religion in order to reply on and believe in something. Traditionally, we have called it pray, pray blessing, Bison(rubbing hands prayerfully), worship, rite offered before a statue of Buddha, memorial service and exorcism. If we call it ceremony in general, the order of practice concerned to who, when, where, what and how can be the basic principle of all religious ceremonies. Moreover, in all religious phenomenons, ceremony is embodied as a song or dance and the ceremony space is embodied as a molding and color. It means the Jangeom shown in Buddhist ceremony and it can be the historical origin of appearance of chrysanthemum. The person, who was dead from the accident in land, water or air, or the person, who was unnaturally dead through suicide, is called a lonely spirit. Surukjae is the Buddhist ceremony to invite spirit of the person, confute dharma and serve delicious food. The Surukjae has a direct relationship with a formative background of Gamrowangdo(painting). Gamrowangdo is a Buddhist picture for ceremony that leads a spirit of dead person. In the picture, Buddhist world view is synthetically collected. In the bottom of picture, the six worlds attracting people's attentions are displayed. It shows various images from Cheoningwonsok to lonely spirit and minute life form that face unexpected death in various karmas. The lonely spirit on the bottom escapes from the pain of karma and gets the mercy of Buddha on the top by receiving the ceremony of Buddhist priests and tasting consecrated food. At this time, Inrowangbosal plays the role of mediator that leads all sentient beings of six worlds to pure west land of Buddha. Like that, Gamrowangdo shows dramatic composition of organic relation between the top, middle and bottom in one picture. Among the flowers shown in Gamrowangdo, the author grasped the features of flowers through the method to select and analyze 10 pictures including Gamrowangdo of Ssanggyesa(temple). Therefore, Jangeom is the shape of effort symbolizing the behavior of Buddha. In Buddhism, special religious meaning is granted according to the word, 「belief is riginated from Jangeom」. As shown in the flower picture expressed in Gamrowangdo, paper flower becomes the important factor of Jangeop and in Buddhist seminary, it is expressed that truth of Buddha is scattered and embroidered like flowers. Kim Tae-suk used thin flower paper or that painted by watercolor. Its characteristic is clean and fine. Because the leaf is dyed with weak pigment, its color is relatively clean and fine. The kind of paper flower is peony, mum, Ddri flower, lotus and dicentra. The desire of researcher is to find, preserve and inherit traditional Jangeop technique for Buddhist ceremony. The researcher performed the study with a sense of duty to have self-esteem as a traditional craftsman, establish the place for lifelong education to teach the technique and deliver Korean Buddhism culture through museum and exhibition hall. Moreover, the researcher wants to inspire the importance of cultural value of unique Korean Buddhism.

진전을 동반한 Fahr Disease 환자 치험례

Fahr disease (FD) is a rare neurological disorder characterized by presence of abnormal and associated cell loss in certain areas of the brain, mostly in basal ganglia, thalamus, cerebellum and subcortical areas. Approximately two-thirds of the patients are symptomatic. The most common neurological manifestations include movement disorders, cognitive impairment, cerebellar signs and speech disorders. We report one case of estimated FD through brain computed tomography (bilateral calcifications of basal ganglia, thalamus, centrum semiovale, subcortical white matter of occipital lobes, cerebellum). At the first time of treatment, he complained of tremors in his upper limbs. We diagnosed the patient as deficiency of qi (氣) and movement of phlegm-heat-wind (痰熱風動) type according to symptoms and treated by herbs and acupuncture of oriental medicine. During treatments, we evaluated how well the oriental medical treatments were working using visual analogue scale (VAS) and amplitude of hands. After the oriental medical treatments about tremor, VAS dropped from 10 to 2 and amplitude of hands from 20 mm to 2 mm, but the ratio of brain calcifications was not changed. This study suggests that oriental medical treatments can be applicable to improve FD.

불교의례의 지화장엄―장인별 지화(紙花)기법의 특징을 중심으로―

This study was aimed at comparing and analyzing the techniques and craftsmanship in the making of the decorative paper flowers for the two typical Buddhist Rituals, Su-ryuk-jae and Yeong-san-jae, the latter designated as the Important Intangible Cultural Property NO. 50. The paper flowers used in the Buddhist rites surpass any other kind in size and exquisiteness, thus acquiring the name of `jang-eum` or solemn decorations. The present study was based on a series of 14 studies on the traditional paper flowers in Korea presented by the author since 1981, but in this paper more emphasis was placed on the differences not only between the two rites but also in the craftsmanship and paper materials depending on the individual craftsman. There exist five prominent skill retainers for the Yeong-san-jae paper flowers: Hwang Eun-dong (Monk Wolhwa), Recluse Lee Gi-won, Lee Byeong-woo (Monk Kyeongam), Yun Jong-gyu (Monk Haewol) and Lee Ju-hwan (Monk Seokyong), where as Kim Tae-suk is the only technique retainer for Su-ryuk-jae. The results of the study are as follows: Hwang Eun-dong (Monk Wolhwa), makes twelve kinds including cloud flowers; Recluse Lee Gi-won seven including peonies; Lee Byeong-woo (Monk Kyeongam) has techniques for five kinds, including bush clovers; Yun Jong-gyu (Monk Haewol) holds skills for six kinds. Lee Ju-hwan (Monk Seokyong) retains techniques for making nine kinds of flowers besides big chrysanthemums. Kim Tae-suk specializing in the Su-ryuk-jae paper flowers has the expertise of making six different kinds of decorative flowers along with peonies. In conclusion, a total 45 different kinds of paper flowers are presently being produced by these representative artists. The techniques employed by the individual craftsman often share the same or similar names, but as the workmanship and techniques of the artists vary widely, their works denote these differences, thus strongly requiring us to restore the originality of the authentic forms and quality of paper flowers while stimulating the artists` creativity ever more.

특발성(特發性) 동안신경마비(動眼神經麻痺)로 진단된 안검하수(眼瞼下垂) 환자 치험 1례

Objective : This study reports the effect of korean medicine on ptosis patient 1 case diagnosed as idiopathic oculomoter nerve palsy. Methods : We experienced one case of ptosis diagnosed as idiopathic oculomoter nerve palsy treated with herbal medicine and acupuncture. Ptosis and associated symptoms had been estimated with difference of both eye's interpalpebral fissure and VAS(Visual Analogue Scale). Result : After the treatment, symptoms were decreased and almost disappeared. In this case, difference of both eye's interpalpebral fissure decreased from 6mm to 1mm in a month. Conclusion : This study suggests that korean medicine is effective on ptosis diagnosed as idiopathic oculomoter nerve palsy.

자락발관법(刺絡拔罐法)을 병행한 한방치료로 호전된 대상포진 후 신경통환자 치험 1례

Objective : This study reports the effect of oriental medicine with depletion and cupping therapy on post-herpetic neuralgia(PHN) 1 case. Methods : We experienced one case of PHN treated by oriental medical treatment with depletion and cupping therapy. To evaluate the effectiveness of this treatment, we used the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Result : After the treatment the grade of VAS was decreased and clinical symptoms were improved. Conclusion : Oriental medicine with depletion and cupping therapy can be available for relieving symptoms related with PHN.

한방병원에 입원한 두위 현훈 환자의 임상 분석

Background : Vertigo is a very common complaint in clinical practice. The number of patients who complain of vertigo has been increasing due to rapid growth of the elderly population. This study was designed to review the clinical features and success of oriental medical treatment of positional vertigo. Methods : This observation was made on 70 subjects diagnosed with positional vertigo. They were hospitalized in the Semyung University Oriental Medicine Hospital. Results : The results were as follows 1. Female patients (82.9%) were more than male patients. The most common age group was 8th decade and the patients rapidly increased after the 5th decade of age. 2. The most common past history of positional vertigo was hypertension, the second was cerebral infarction, and the third was hyperlipidemia. 3. In the oriental medicine diagnosis, phlegm-dampness syndrome (痰濕交阻 眩暈) was the most common disease (92.9%), and in western medicine, BPPV was the most (82.9%). 4. In herbal medication, Banhabaekchulchunma-tang gami (45.7%) was the most commonly used, the second being Taeksa-tang (30%). 5. The vertigo score of 94.3% patients improved and none got worse. 6. In general characteristics, men over 64 years improved best. Past history had no effect on the improvement of vertigo. 7. The sooner patients visited hospital after onset, the shorter hospitalization time was. Conclusions : Vertigo attacks patients well in advanced age, with various causative diseases. Oriental medical treatments have considerable effects on positional vertigo, especially treated with Banhabaekchulchunma-tang gami and Taeksa-tang.

클라우드 컴퓨팅에서 동적 데이터 무결성을 위한 개선된 감사 시스템

Cloud computing draws attention as an application to provide dynamically scalable infrastructure for application, data and file storage. An untrusted remote server can cause a variety of problems in the field of data protection. It may process intentionally or involuntarily user's data operations(modify, insert, delete) without user's permission. It may provide false information in order to hide his mistakes in the auditing process. Therefore, it is necessary to audit the integrity of data stored in the cloud server. In this paper, we propose a new data auditing system that can verify whether servers had a malicious behavior or not. Performance and security analysis have proven that our scheme is suitable for cloud computing environments in terms of performance and security aspects.

클라우드 컴퓨팅에서 u-Fitness 기반 운동 관리를 위한 소유자의 프라이버시를 보장하는 프로토콜

There is growing interest in the use of cloud services these days because the amount of sensitive physical information related to u-fitness-based exercise management increase in explosive. However, it is possible to illegally access information stored in a cloud server, and to find out who owns the information, even, to illegally deduce an association among the information stored in its memory. The cloud server may also intentionally pass over the owner's legitimate operation requests such as modification and deletion of stored information, and may lose or damage information due to its malfunction. So, it is strongly required to solve the above problems because we can not trust the cloud server entirely. In this paper, we propose a protocol to preserve the privacy of the owner for u-Fitness-based exercise management in a cloud computing environment. And we show that our proposed architecture is applicable in real environment through security analysis and performance analysis.
