The purpose of this study is to analyze the traditional embroidery in India by region based on Bourdieu’s cultural theory. As the research methods for this study, literature and case studies were conducted. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, India's regions could be divided into four distinct regions based on language and religion. The main concepts of Bourdieu's cultural theory, namely the sub-dimensions of field and habitus, were the field of social system, the field of goods & economy, the field of environment/region, culture, and ethnicity. Second, Eastern India's embroidery was influenced by Hinduism and traditional art. The embroidery used various fabrics such as the Applique work, and vivid colors and patterns were mainly used in the Hindu myths, animals, and flower patterns of the embroidery. Third, embroidery in Western India was influenced by exotic cultures like Persian due to geographical conditions, and embroidery via the use of gold threads and various ornaments was developed. Symbolized flower patterns and geometric patterns were used a lot in the respective embroidery. Fourth, embroidery in southern India was influenced by the Dravidian culture and their architectural style, which saw the emergence of an embroidery that used simple colored cross-stitch. Most of the patterns in this embroidery are geometricized. Fifth, Northern Indian embroidery has historically served as the center of power, resulting in an embroidery that uses various forms and materials. In this embroidery, flower patterns are mainly used. Finally, the characteristics of the traditional embroidery of India’s each region is based on Bourdieu’s cultural theory, which could be summarized as ethnic religiosity, exotic splendor, structural formality, and symbolic power.

제강산업의 구매 실무에 대한 연구

본 논문은 제강산업의 구매실무에 대한 연구로서 동국제강 사례를 토대로 작성되었다. 후판과 봉형광을 생산하는 원재료인 철스크랩과 슬라브을 주로 구매하는 동국제강의 구매조직과 구매 프로세스에 대하여 연구하였고 특히 구매윤리, E-Procurment, 녹색구매 등 오늘날 구매에서 이슈가 되고 있는 점들을 기업에서는 실제로 어떻게 대처하고 있는지를 동국제강의 사례를 통해 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 동국제강 사례를 통해 제강산업의 구매에 있어서 문제점을 도출하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. This paper intended to understand the purchasing practices in the steel industry from a case study of Dongkuk Steel. Dongkuk Steel purchased two major materials, which are steel scrap and slab. Most of the steel scrap is domestically supplied and used to produce the rebar and section steel products. The slab is imported from foreign countries like Japan. This study explored the different characteristics of purchasing organization and process for steel scrap and slab. In addition, this paper examined e-procurement, procurement ethics, and green purchasing which are the emerging issues in the steel industry. Based on the case study, we extract the problems in purchasing practices and suggested recommendations for improvement.

과호산구증가증을 동반한 만성골수단구성백혈병

호산구증가증의 원인으로는 약물, 기생충 감염, 알레르기 질환, 혈액종양 등이 있다. 만성골수단구성백혈병(chronic myelomonocytic leukemia, CMML)은 말초혈액 단핵구가1,000/μL 이상이고, 혈액이나 골수에서 모세포가 20% 이하이며, 1개 이상의 이형성이 관찰되는 질환으로 호산구증가증이 동반될 수 있다. 저자들은 호산구증가증의 드문 원인 질환으로 만성골수단구성백혈병이 동반된 환자 1예를 경험하고 이를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. 소비자 성격유형에 따른 의미전이 -TV 뷰티프로그램을 중심으로-

This study explores 1) the cultural meanings that television beauty programs deliver, 2) the ways consumers consume TV beauty programs, and 3) the differences in the meaning of television beauty programs according to personality types. An Enneagram was used to define different personality types. The Enneagram explained personalities according to underlying core energies and was useful to grasp consumer behavior. Exploratory data were collected through in-depth interviews of fifteen women in their twenties who watched television beauty programs regularly. The personality types were classified according to three core energies: head-centered, heart-centered, or body-centered. The results were: First, television beauty programs were celebrity-focused, product-focused, and consumer-focused. They were found to help consumers improve their appearance in an appearance-oriented contemporary society by sharing appearance management information. Second, consumers consumed the products from television beauty programs as well as sought a “beautifully transformed self”. Third, cultural meanings moved first from a culturally-constituted world to consumer goods through television beauty programs that then moved these goods to the individual consumer through symbolic consumption behavior along with grooming rituals, evaluation practices, appreciation practices, and accounting practices. Symbolic consumption behavior differed with personality type: heartcentered consumers transferred meaning through grooming rituals and appreciation practices, head-centered consumers through evaluation practices, and body-centered consumers through accounting practices.

골수를 침윤하여 범혈구감소증을 나타낸 유육종증

Sarcoidosis is a granulomatous disease that can involve any organ, although it primarily involves the lungs, intrathoracic lymph nodes, skin, and eyes. We present a case of sarcoidosis with pancytopenia, resulting from bone marrow involvement. A 35-year-old man was admitted to hospital for chronic cough and blurred vision. On chest computed tomography, there were multiple pulmonary nodules and mediastinal lymph nodes enlargement. As the patient also showed pancytopenia, we performed a bone marrow biopsy, as well as a transbronchial lung biopsy. Both biopsies showed non-caseating granulomas. We diagnosed the patient with sarcoidosis with pulmonary, bone marrow, uvea, liver and spleen involvement. After oral steroid therapy, the patient`s symptoms as well as his pancytopenia improved. We present this case to demonstrate the significance of bone marrow biopsy in cases of sarcoidosis with pancytopenia, as well the possibility of clinical improvement with steroid treatment.

증례 : 소화기 ; 수술의 과거력이 없는 환자에서 항문직장 내압검사 후 발생한 직장 손상

항문직장 내압검사는 관련된 합병증에 대한 보고가 많지않아 비교적 안전한 검사로 여겨져 왔다. 저자들은 수술의 기왕력이 없는 환자에서 내압검사 중 일어난 직장 천공을 포함한 2예의 직장 손상을 경험하였으며, 2예 모두 수술 없이 보존적 치료로 호전되었다. 항문직장 내압검사는 비교적 안전한 검사이나 직장감각능 평가시 가해지는 풍선의 팽창 압력에 의해 직장 점막 손상이나 천공 등이 발생할 수 있으므로 검사 시행시 세심한 주의가 필요하다. Colorectal injury related to anorectal manometry is very rare and is mostly associated with previous rectal surgery. We experienced two cases of colorectal injury related to anorectal manometry in patients without a history of surgery. The anorectal manometry finding of the first patient suggested rectal hyposensitivity, and the maximum tolerable volume was measured as 350 mL. After anorectal manometry, she complained of hematochezia. Sigmoidoscopy showed a deep 5 cm ulcer with vessel exposure at the rectum. She recovered after conservative treatment. In the second case, rectal bleeding occurred while measuring the maximal tolerable rectal volume. A 2.5 cm mural defect and 4 cm mucosal defect were detected in the rectosigmoid area at sigmoidoscopy. Computed tomography showed intraperitoneal free air around the distal sigmoid colon. She improved after conservative management. We suggest that anorectal manometry be performed with great caution, even in patients without a history of surgery. (Korean J Med 78:732-736, 2010)
