The Journal of Studies in Language 29.2, 185-204. The current study aimed at analyzing the appropriateness of compliments and compliment responses presented in the 11 1st-year high school English conversation textbooks. In total, 148 compliment speech acts were collected. The data were investigated in terms of syntactic structure, lexical feature, semantic organization, compliment topic, compliment response strategies, and contextual organization. The major findings were as follows: 1) in the syntactic construct, the textbooks didn`t reflect compliment expressions native English speakers were likely to utter; 2) compliments were reflected improperly in lexical aspect; 3) semantic construct were quite well represented; 4) the topic of “ability” was most frequently appeared in the textbooks; 5) about 30% of compliment responses were categorized as “no acknowledgement”; and 6) the textbooks have greatly improved in general. Purpose: An accurate determination of energy expenditure is needed to prevent postoperative complications and provide effective medical care for surgical patients. The aim of this study was to compare measured resting energy expenditure (REE) in patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) using an indirect calorimetry (IC) with the help of five predictive equations. Methods: The subjects chosen for the study were 18 patients (12 males, 6 females) who underwent PD at Chonbuk National University Hospital between March 2010 and October 2011. REE was measured by IC (ICREE) and calculated with the following five predictive equations - (eqREE)-Harris-Benedict (HB), Mifflin St. Jeor (MI), American College of Chest Physician (AC), Ireton- Jones (IJ) and Cunningham (CU) equation - on postoperative day 3. Results: The mean measured REE by IC was 1,117.9 ±180.2, whereas the mean predicted REE by HB, MI, AC, IJ and CU equations were 1,241.3±156.1, 1,226±153.0, 1,401.7±188.0, 1,355.1±342.7, and 1,324.8±188.7 kcal/ day, respectively. The mean predicted REE by HB, MI, AC, IJ, and CU were found to be significantly different from the measured ICREE. The intraclass correlation coefficient ICC), which describes the degree of agreement with the ICREE, was significantly highest in CUeq REE (r= 0.679). The rate of accuracy of HBeq REE, MIeq REE, ACeq REE, IJeq REE, and CUeq REE for ICREE was 27.8%, 50.0%, 27.8%, 22.2%, and 23.5%, respectively, in individual subjects. Conclusion: The intraclass correlation coefficient (r= 0.124∼0.679) and accuracy rate (22.2∼50.0%) determined from the results of REE measured by IC and that calculated by five predictive equations were low in overall. The low accuracy rate of energy expenditure by equations, which apply uniform indicators, can be explained by ongoing metabolic changes of the patient. Thus, the use of IC is recommended to assess energy requirements in PD; when this method is not practical in clinical settings, nutrition intervention is needed through regular monitoring because of the low accuracy rate of the predictive methods and ICREE that can cause inappropriate energy management, leading to metabolic disorders. This paper presents the fundamental study to implement wirdless data link system in the subway.Thepropagation characteristics of the electromangnetic wave in the tunnel are analyzed to determine the proper radio frequncics for our system.The tunnel is modeled as a circular waveguide and then, its path loss is obtained.The dfficient communication control procesure is proposed, which is well suited to our system architecture and the subway environment.The prototype systrm shows a good performance in the data communication. 본 논문은 지하철에서의 무선 데이타 링크 시스템을 구현하기 위한 기초 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저 주파수 선정을 위해서 터널래의 전파전파 특성을 이론적으로 분석하였고, 터널을 원형도파관으로 간주하여 진행과 방향의 거리에 따른 감쇄량을 계산하였다. 시스템 구현에 따른 새로운 통신 알고리즘을 제안하여, 간이 실험실 모델에서 데이타, 총, 수신을 수행한 결과 만족한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.
Studio Class를 활용한 교육 방법에 대한 사례 연구

In this paper, we are trying to explain an education method using the studio class where a lecturer can teach the theoretical approach for goals of theme, simulation for the theoretical results by using commercial CAD tools, and experiments for the simulation and design results. In order to apply the education skill using studio class to electrical engineering field efficiently, the theoretical approach, simulation procedure, and experiments should be coincided with each other. In this paper, the design procedure of low pass filter for undergraduate and graduate is chosen as an example of studio class In order to show the validity of the proposed education method. By considering the example, the efficiency of the method will be discussed. 본 연구에서는 하나의 주제에 대한 교육 충실도를 높이기 위해 해석적인 수식전개에 바탕을 둔 이론 강의, 상용 소프트웨어를 이용한 수치 시뮬레이션, 그리고 계산 결과를 기초로 얻어진 설계 모델들에 대하여 제작과 실험을 통해 얻어진 결과를 수치계산 결과와 비교 검토의 세가지 접근 방법을 병행할 수 있는 장소를 일컫는 studio class를 활용한 교육방법에 대하여 전자공학교육 분야의 사례연구를 통해 설명하고자 한다. 초고주파 수동소자의 하나인 저역통과여파기에 대해 studio class 개념의 교육과정을 학부생 및 대학원생에게 적용한 결과를 하나의 사례로 들어 국내의 교육환경에 적합한 studio class 교수법에 대한 효과와 학생들의 전문지식 습득에 대한 이해도의 효율성에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다.
위장관 수술 후 발생한 장관 누공 환자에서 영양집중지원팀에 의뢰된 내용 분석

Purpose: The role of nutrition support for the management of enterocutaneous fistula is primarily one of supportive care to prevent malnutrition and thereby halt further deterioration of an already debilitated patient. This therapy is best managed by a nutritional support team (NST). For activation of the NST, physicians must become more aware of the need for nutrition support in patients, and so referrals are required from physicians. This study examined the referrals to the nutritional support team for patients with postoperative enterocutaneous fistula. Methods: Between March 2007 and May 2009, we reviewed 34 patients with postoperative enterocutaneous fistula and who was referred to the NST. Results: The mean age of the patients was 61.1±11.5years. Twenty seven cases were males and 7 were females. The routes of nutrition support were EN+PN: 32 (55.2%), PN: 16 (27.6%), EN: 8 (13.0%) and oral intake+PN: 2 (3.4%). The direct referrals were 45 (77.6%) and the indirect referrals though the nutritional screening system were 13 (22.4%). The referrals for EN were 40 (69%) and those for PN were 18 (31.0%). The recommendations by the NST were accepted in 48 (82.8%) of the cases. The EN recommendations were accepted in all 40 (100.0%) of the cases. The PN recommendations by direct referral were accepted in 6 of 7 cases, but only 2 of 11 cases were accepted according to indirect referral. Conclusion: More aggressive and thorough follow-up on whether or not to accept the NST recommendation is required. This study shows that regular scheduled nutrition support service orientations for the different staff and departments of the hospital should be held each year. (KJPEN 2010;3(1):45-49)
