명암도 응집성 강화 및 분류를 통한 3차원 뇌 영상 구조적 분할

최근 대용량 의료영상 데이터로부터 인체 기관 또는 질환 부위 추출을 위한 영상 분할 기법이 매우 다양하게 제안되고 있으나, 뇌와 같이 다중 구조를 가지면서 구조간 경계 구분이 어려운 영상의 구조적 분할에는 한계를 가진다. 이를 위해 주로 복셀을 유한 개의 군집으로 분류하는 군집화 (clustering) 기법이 이용되나 이는 개별 복셀 단위의 연산을 수행함으로 인해 잡음의 영향을 받는 제한점이 있다. 그러므로 잡음의 영상을 최소화하고 영상 경계를 강화시키는 향상기법을 적용함으로써 보다 견고한 구조적 분할을 수행할 수 있다. 본 연구에스는 뇌 자기공명영상에 대하여 백질(white matter), 회백질(gray matter), 뇌척수액(cerebrospinal fluid)의 내부 구조를 효율적으로 추출하기 위한 필터링 기반 군집화에 의한 구조적 분할 기법을 제안한다. 우선 구조간 경계를 강화하고 구조 내 잡음을 약화시키기 위해 응집성 향상 확산 필터링(coherence enhancing diffusiion filtering)을 적용한다. 또한 이 과정을 통해 강화된 영상에 퍼지 c-means 군집화 기법을 적용하여 각 복셀이 속하는 구조에 해당하는 군집의 인덱스를 할당함으로써 구조적 분할을 수행한다. 제안된 구조적 분할기법은 기존의 가우시안 또는 일반적인 비등방성 확산 필터링과 군집화 기법을 적용한 기법에 비해 전문가의 수동분할 결과와의 일치 비율에 의한 분할 정확도를 향상시킴을 보였다. 또한 경계 부분에 있어서의 세밀한 분할을 통해 재생산 가긍하고 사용자 수동후 처리를 최소화할 수 있는 결과를 제시함으로써 형태적 뇌 이상 진단을 위한 효율적인 보조 수단을 제공한다. Recently, many suggestions have been made in image segmentation methods for extracting human organs or disease affected area from huge amounts of medical image datasets. However, images from some areas, such as brain, which have multiple structures with ambiruous structural borders, have limitations in their structural segmentation. To address this problem, clustering technique which classifies voxels into finite number of clusters is often employed. This, however, has its drawback, the influence from noise, which is caused from voxel by voxel operations. Therefore, applying image enhancing method to minimize the influence from noise and to make clearer image borders would allow more robust structural segmentation. This research proposes an efficient structural segmentation method by filtering based clustering to extract detail structures such as white matter, gray matter and cerebrospinal fluid from brain MR. First, coherence enhancing diffusion filtering is adopted to make clearer borders between structures and to reduce the noises in them. To the enhanced images from this process, fuzzy c-means clustering method was applied, conducting structural segmentation by assigning corresponding cluster index to the structure containing each voxel. The suggested structural segmentation method, in comparison with existing ones with clustering using Gaussian or general anisotropic diffusion filtering, showed enhanced accuracy which was determined by how much it agreed with the manual segmentation results. Moreover, by suggesting fine segmentation method on the border area with reproducible results and minimized manual task, it provides efficient diagnostic support for morphological abnormalities in brain.
가임 여성에서 제왕절개술 동안 Deciduosis의 유병율과 자궁내막증과의 관계

Objective: To investigate the prevalence, the distribution of deciduosis, and the relationship with endometriosis in fertile women during Cesarean delivery. Methods: In this study, pelvic tissues suspicious for ectopic deciduas were taken for biopsy during Cesarean section from 154 parturients of full term pregnancy from January 1990 to December 2003. And then those patients were followed up till April 2008. Results: Tissues from 94 parturients (94/154, 61%) were evaluated histopathologically, and ectopic decidua was observed in 70.2% (66/94). Ectopic sites were ovaries only (65/94, 69.1%), ovaries and uterine serosa (12/94, 12.8%), uterine serosa only (9/94, 9.6%), and pelvic serosa. Twenty seven (27/66, 40.9%) parturients had past history of diagnosis and treatments for endometriosis. We have tried to connect 39 (39/66, 59.1%) patients who had never been diagnosed for endometriosis but pathologically confirmed for deciduosis, and 18 patients were able to contact by phone. Twelve patients (12/18, 66.6%) showed no symptoms of endometriosis and had not received any treatments for endometriosis. Conclusion: We can conclude that most of incidental cases confirmed pathologically for deciduosis during pregnancy do not symptomatically progress. 목 적: 임신 능이 확인된 가임 여성에서 다능성 세포가 화생되거나 이전에 존재하던 골반 내 자궁내막증으로부터 발생하는 deciduosis의 발생빈도와 분포, 자궁내막증과의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 1990년 1월부터 2003년 12월까지 만삭임신에 이른 154명에서 제왕절개술시 의심되는 병변에서 조직검사를 시행하여 deciduosis의 빈도를 조사하였다. 결 과: 여러 다른 장기의 ectopic decidua는 94명 (94/154, 61%)에서 조사되었고, 이 중 66명 (66/94, 70.2%)에서 조직 검사상 deciduosis로 진단되었다. 발생빈도는 난소 (65/94, 69.1%), 난소와 자궁장막 (12/94, 12.8%), 자궁장막 (9/94, 9.6%), 복막 (2/94, 2.1%) 순이었다. 이 중 27예 (27/66, 40.9%)는 임신 전에 이미 자궁내막증으로 진단받아 다른 치료를 받았던 경력이 있던 여성이었고, 39예 (39/66, 59.1%)는 임신 전 자궁내막증으로 진단받지 않았던 경우였다. 임신 중에 deciduosis로 조직학적 확진을 받았지만 자궁내막증의 기왕력이 없었던 38명을 대상으로 2008년 4월 전화연락을 시도한 결과 통화 가능했던 18명 중 12명 (66.6%)이 다른 증상이 없어 특별한 치료 없이 지내고 있었다. 결 론: 본 연구에서 임신 시 조직학적으로 deciduosis가 확인된 대부분의 경우 자궁내막증으로의 진행은 없었다.
A Speaker Pruning Method for Real-Time Speaker Identification System

It has been known that GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model) based speaker identification systems using ML (Maximum Likelihood) and WMR (Weighting Model Rank) demonstrate very high performances. However, such systems are not so effective under practical environments, in terms of real time processing, because of their high calculation costs. In this paper, we propose a new speaker-pruning algorithm that effectively reduces the calculation cost. In this algorithm, we select 20% of speaker models having higher likelihood with a part of input speech and apply MWMR (Modified Weighted Model Rank) to these selected speaker models to find out identified speaker. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, we performed speaker identification experiments using TIMIT database. The proposed method shows more than 60% improvement of reduced processing time than the conventional GMM based system with no pruning, while maintaining the recognition accuracy.

Frank Lloyd Wright(1867-1959) was regarded as the pioneer of the modern architecture in the beginning and transition period of 20th century. His works have the pure shape form which have the deep relationship with the organic architecture. Wright told himself that the Froebel System had an influence on his works a lot. This study have researched about the three dimensional application of the Froebel System in his works with assembling and disassembling. Also the two dimensional application in the diagonal and circular plans are the one of the subjects here. The following conclusions are reached. First, The similar of the Wright’s works and the Froebel System was the application of the similar principles rather than the copy of the method, which are the accent of the center, the composition of the part and whole, the understanding of the composition principle through the unit system and the unfolding of the crystal by rotation. Even thought the Wright’s works have the triangle, square, hexagonal shape, the way of the expansion from the centered space was same. Also the space formed by the division of the center space, unfolds making the part and whole by overlap and continuation. The 2nd Froebel make space decided by the Net and Crystal Lattices which have the crystal characteristics by the rotation. The new geometric architecture, pinwheel, was created by this method. The application of the Froebel in the Wright’s works have the several sets which are the 3th, 4th, 5th, 6th Froebels, 2nd, 7th Froebels and the 3th, 5th, 9th Froebels. The geometrical analysis of the square shape and the diagonal shape of the Wright’s works was possible. The unfolding of the centered space can be found in the Guggenheim Museum using the analysis of the circular geometric of the 9th Froebel. The above study proves that the Froebel was not a mere tool for the basic shape training but also the main body of Wright’s works which consists of the organic idea and philosophy of the space.
