Presented is a case study of a 39-year-old man with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) and an underlying antithrombin III (AT III) deficiency. The subject presented with severe dyspnea (NYHA functional class III). A diagnostic workup led to a diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism and severe pulmonary hypertension with right ventricular failure. Genetic analysis revealed a novel nonsense mutation (c.243G>A) in SERPINC1. Pulmonary thromboendarterectomy was performed following the insertion of an inferior vena cava filter. After one year, the subject remained in NYHA functional class I and exhibited normal right ventricular function. This is the first report of a genetically confirmed AT III deficiency complicated by CTEPH in Korea. (Korean J Med 79:691-696, 2010)

Approximate composition and physicochemical properties of 2 cultivars of plum(P. salicina), Humoosa and Daeseok, were examined. The contents of crude fat and N-free extract were different between 2 cultivars. Total mineral contents of Humoosa and Daeseok were 30.00 and 17.99mg% respectively, and S.K and Mg were major minerals in both cultivars. Humoosa has higher contents of fructose whereas Daeseok has higher contents of sucrose. Major organic acid in flesh was malic acid. While citric acid was major organic acid in the peel of Humoosa, malic acid was major in the peel of Daeseok, Glutamic acidm alanine and γ-aminioisibutvic acid were major free amino acid in both cultivars and their total contents were about the same.

The purpose of this study is to understand the health-related quality of life of local residents and apply an ecological model to investigate the effects of personal and socio-environmental factors on health-related quality of life. Secondary data analysis using Health Status and Needs Survey(2019) to strengthen residents’ competency at a Health Center. With one data, the final 305 subjects were studied. Perceived self-efficacy(β=.30, p<.001), perceived barrier(β=-.13, p=.002), perceived benefit(β=.11, p=.011), perceived health status(β=.12, p=.003), gender(β=-.13, p=.002) as individual factors, and socio-environmental factors such as social and physical environment(β=.35, p<.001) and social network(β=.16, p=.001) were statistically significant to the health-related quality of life. The effect of on health-related quality of life was statistically significant(F=54.52, p<.001). This study model which applied stepwise multiple regression, was statistically significant, and the factors that explain the effect on health-related quality of life were perceived health status, perceived self-efficacy, perceived benefit, and perceived barrier, social and physical environment, it showed 57.2% explanatory power. It is necessary to develop a community-participated nursing intervention program that can lead to health promotion and improvement in health-related quality of life.
국내산 자두 주요 품종의 일반성분 및 이화학적 성분 특성

자두 후무사(포마사)와 대석조생 품종의 일반성분 및 이화학적 성분을 조사하였다. 일반성분으로 후무사와 대석조생의 조지방과 가용성무질소물은 약간의 차이가 있었고 수분, 조단백, 조섬유와 조회분은 비슷하게 나타났다. 식이섬유의 함량은 품종간에 차이를 보이지 않았고, 가용성과 불용성 식이섬유의 비율이 유사한 것으로 확인되었다. 자두의 무기질 총 함량은 후무사가 30 mg%, 대석조생이 17.99 mg%로 후무사가 조금 많았고, 주된 무기질은 황(5), 칼륨(K), 마그네슘(Mg) 순이었다. 유리당 중 후무사는 fructose의 함량이 높았고, 대석조생이 sucrose의 함량이 가장 높았다. 유기산의 총함량은 대석조생이 높았으며, 과육에 있어서 주된 유기산은 malic acid였고, 과피에 있어서는 후무사는 citric acid, 대석조생종은 malic acid가 주된 유기산이었다. 유리아미노산은 두 품종 모두, glutamic acid, alanine, ${\gamma}-aminoisobutyric$ acid, serine의 순으로 높은 함량을 보였으며, 총 아미노산 함량은 두 품종이 비슷하였다. 온배수 유입 소형하천의 수질 및 토양오염과 회복에 관한 연구 1. 온배수가 인근 소하천과 농업 환경에 미치는 영향

This study was carried out to investigate the influence of spa sewage on water quality and chemical contents in the paddy soil along stream from 1997 to 1998. Concentration of PO_4, SO_4, Cl, NH_4, Ca, Na and COD in the spa sewage were lower than standard for agricultural usage, and were lowered as the sewage flew to the into stream. The concentration of SO_4 in spa sewage was over the criteria for agricultural usage in the inlet, but was lower than criteria for agricultural usage by inlet of non polluted stream water. Concentration of pollutants in the sediment of water channel were the highest in the inlet site. There were no pollutants accumulation in the paddy soil where spa sewage was irrigated. It may be resulted from nutrients uptake of rice plant and self purification of paddy soil. On the while, considering electric conductivity and nitrate in spa sewage, this results suggest that long-term irrigation of the spa sewage may be required general management with some decreasing fertilization. ‘Health Literacy’ 개념정의에 대한 체계적 고찰(SR, Systematic Review)

This study analyzes the meanings of Health Literacy expressed in Korean literature through the systematic review(SR) based on WHO (2013) Theoretical Framework in relation to Health Literacy. This was done to provide a basis for Korean Official Definition on ‘Health Literacy’. The literatures were searched using RISS, Korea Science and Technology Information Center (KISTI / NDSL), KoreaMed, DBpia and Google. A total of 1,349 documents were retrieved by applying PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Review & Meta-Analyses). The final 186 documents were selected for analyzing. Among the 186 papers, the Korean notation for Health Literacy was 92 health information comprehension skills (49.4%), 38 health literacy(20.4%). The result of classification according to WHO 12(1-12) subdimensions, Understanding information relevant to health(2,6,10 subdimensions) was 181(100%), Apply or use information relevant to health(4,8,12 subdimensions) was 92(50.8%), Access or obtain information relevant to health(1,5,9 subdimensions) was 17(9.4%), Appraise, judge or evaluate information relevant to health(3,7,11 subdimensions) was 8 (4.4%). The official Korean notation and conceptual definition of Health Literacy is urgently needed, and a multidisciplinary perspective is essential to cover various health levels and capacities. 본 연구는 Health Literacy와 관련하여 WHO(2013)가 제시한 이론적 개념틀을 기반으로 체계적 고찰(SR, Systematic Review)을 통해 국내 문헌에 표현된 Health Literacy가 담고 있는 의미를 분석하여, 우리나라에 적합한 개념 정의에 기초 자료를 마련하고자 수행하였다. 문헌은 학술정보서비스(RISS), 한국과학기술정보센터(KISTI/NDSL), KoreaMed, DBpia와 구글을 이용하여 검색하였다. PRISMA(Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Review & Meta-Analyses)를 적용하여 총 1,349편의 문헌이 검색되었고, 주제의 적합성을 판단하여 794편을 배제하고, 영문과 중문으로 표기된 81편, 중복 문헌과 원문을 확인할 수 없는 회색 문헌 259편을 배제하여 최종 186개의 문헌을 분석대상으로 확정하였다. 186편 중 Health Literacy에 대한 국문표기는 건강정보이해능력 92편(49.4%), 건강문해력 38편(20.4%), 헬스리터러시 28편(15.0%) 순으로 나타났고, WHO(2013) 개념틀의 하부영역은 건강정보 이해능력 181편(100%)이었고, 건강정보 활용능력은 92편(50.8%), 건강정보 판단능력은 17편(9.4%), 건강정보 접근능력 8편(4.4%) 등으로 나타났다. 국내 연구에서 WHO(2013)의 개념틀에 기반한 용어 정의를 적용하기 위해서는 Health Literacy에 대한 공식적인 국문표기와 개념정의를 시급하게 진행하고, 다양한 건강수준과 역량을 포괄할 수 있도록 다학제적 접근방식이 필수적이라 판단된다.

Mycobacterium marinum is an uncommon cause of skin and soft-tissue infection. The diagnosis of M. marinum infection is often delayed when only a conventional tissue culture method is used. PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis using the novel region of the rpoB gene is now available for the rapid identification of Mycobacteria. We report a case of hand infection caused by M. marinum that was identified by PCR-RFLP analysis. The PCR-RFLP assay is a specific and rapid method for the identification of Mycobacteria that facilitates the early diagnosis of non-tuberculous Mycobacterium infection. 온천 배수 유입에 따른 소형 하천의 생태계 변화와 회복에 관한 연구 - 소형 하천에서 온천 배수가 부착조류 군집에 미치는 영향

To study the influences of thermal effluents flowing from hot spring on epilithic algal community, seasonal survey was carried out at stream and its watersheds from Seokjeong hot spring in Chollabuk-Do, Korea. Totally 7 points were divided into three regions for sampling of water and epilithic algae, such as the direct effected, uneffected and the mixed region, respectively. At the discharging points of effluents, a dark-green cyanobacterial mat were remarkably constructed, mainly by two cyanobacteria, Oscillatoria and Phormidium. The mat formation were more obvious at low temperature than any other season, and even result in disappear with downstream and season. Totally, one hundred and fifty-three taxa of epilithic algae were classified with 15 unidentified species. Among the, diatoms occupied 58% of total species, whereas cyanobacteria was 67% of total biomass, comparatively. In terms of stream direction, relative abundance of cyanobacteria was only limited in the upstream in cold season, and result in this pattern disappeared with season change. Although all physicochemical variables at the discharging points, was very high, compare to other points, they were quickly decreased downstream. Among them, some heavy metals were not detected or below the detection levels at downstream. Nitrate nitrogen increased with downstream, as well as phosphorus and sulfate have a similar trend throughout, while ammonia quickly decreased in the initial period of discharging effluents. This suggest that although the thermal effluent with high temperature and organic compounds could polluted the small study stream, various contributions such as flowing water, intake of uneffected streawater and collaboration of cyanobacterial mat and steam bottom gradually induces a stable water system.
