Asymptotic exactness of some Bank-Weiser error estimator for quadratic triangular finite element

We analyze a posteriori error estimator for the conforming $P2$ finite element on triangular meshes which is based on the solution of local Neumann problems. This error estimator extends the one for the conforming $P1$ finite element proposed in \cite{Bank-Weiser85}. We prove that it is asymptotically exact for the Poisson equation when the underlying triangulations are mildly structured and the solution is smooth enough.
Enhancing eigenvalue approximation with Bank--Weiser error estimators

In this paper we propose a way of enhancing eigenvalue approximations with the Bank--Weiser error estimators for the $P1$ and $P2$ conforming finite element methods of the Laplace eigenvalue problem. It is shown that we can achieve two extra orders of convergence than those of the original eigenvalue approximations when the corresponding eigenfunctions are smooth and the underlying triangulations are strongly regular. Some numerical results are presented to demonstrate the accuracy of the enhanced eigenvalue approximations.
GMO 식품에 나타난 유전자 조작 기술의 기독교 윤리적 비판-유전자 조작 기술 시대의 자연 및 인간의 ‘수평적 동등성’ 회복을 위해

GMO 식품이 버젓이 우리 식탁위에 올라오고 있다. 아직 GMO 식품의 유해성 에 대해 정확한 기준과 과학적 근거가 없다는 이유로 아이들이 유전자 조작 식품 을 섭취하고 있다. 유전자 조작 식품을 만들어낸 과학자들은 기존의 자연적인 것들을 인위적으로 바꾸고 있다. 이 글에서는 유전자 조작 식품이 가진 장점과 단점을 논의하고, 그 기술이 가진 ‘희망’보다는 보이지 않는 기술의 ‘어두움(공포)’ 에 관심을 가지고 논의를 전개해 나갈 것이다. 유전자 조작 기술은 다분히 인간 기술의 척도에 따른 행위이기 때문에 하나님의 창조 섭리와 생태학적 고려가 배 제되었다. 이 기술은 자연의 질서와는 무관한 인간 중심적 기술과 자연 왜곡이란 이유로 기독교윤리학적 반성과 성찰이 필요하다. 따라서 이 글은 유전자 조작 기술이 가진 두려움 내지는 기술의 위험성을 비판하고, GMO 식품을 실험하는 과학 기술과 인간 기술의 규격화에 따른 기독교윤리적 입장에서 제언을 할 것이다. GMO food is on the table. Children are still taking genetically modified foods because of the lack of accurate standards and scientific evidence of the hazards of GMO foods. Scientists who invented GMO have been intentionally and thoughtlessly transforming natural food sources into something artificial and risky. This study is designed to disclose the threat of human technology rather than to focus on positive side of it. Since DNA manipulation is entirely based on human technology, ecological consideration and/or the Creator’s providence have been partially or entirely alienated from these debates. The cutting edge of human technology has been developed regardless of natural order. Here is the point to research an intact version of it in Christian viewpoint. Thus, the study which deals with pros and cons of technology normalization aims two goals: The first is to disclose a threat of DNA manipulation skill on one hand, and the second is to grope for a Christian alternative referring to the restoration of creation order on the other.
A Novel Homozygous LIPA Mutation in a Korean Child with Lysosomal Acid Lipase Deficiency

Patients with lysosomal acid lipase (LAL) deficiency and glycogen storage disease (GSD) demonstrated hep-atomegaly and dyslipidemia. In our case, a 6-year-old boy presented with hepatosplenomegaly. At 3 years of age, GSD had been diagnosed by liver biopsy at another hospital. He showed elevated serum liver enzymes and dyslipidemia. Liver biopsy revealed diffuse microvesicular fatty changes in hepatocytes, septal fibrosis and foamy macrophages. Ultrastructural examination demonstrated numerous lysosomes that contained lipid material and in-tracytoplasmic cholesterol clefts. A dried blood spot test revealed markedly decreased activity of LAL. LIPA gene sequencing identified the presence of a novel homozygous mutation (p.Thr177Ile). The patient’s elevated liver en-zymes and dyslipidemia improved with enzyme replacement therapy. This is the first report of a Korean child with LAL deficiency, and our findings suggest that this condition should be considered in the differential diagnosis of chil-dren with hepatosplenomegaly and dyslipidemia.
