A Diode bridge rectifier and a phase-controlled thyristor bridge rectifier generate harmonics in power system. Nowadays, power factor and harmonics are important performance in electrical equipment for railway vehicle. Many researchers have been trying to improve the power factor and ac-side harmonics. Therefore the PWM converter has been used to operate at unity power factor and to reduce ac-side current harmonics. This paper proposes the synchronization loop by vector product in single-phase PWM converter. The proposed control method can realize the sinusolidal input current waveform and the effective unity power factor. The validity of the proposed control method is verified through the experimental result.

In most railway vehicle applications, a single phase AC/DC converter is used greatly and is essential equipment for Korea High Speed Train. A diode bridge rectifier and a phase-controlled thyristor bridge rectifier generate harmonics in power system. Nowadays, power factor and harmonics become major issue in electrical equipment for railway vehicle. Many researchers have been trying to improve the power factor and ac-side harmonics. Therefore the PWM converter is used to operate at unity power factor and to reduce ac-side current harmonics. This paper describes the circuit for AC/DC PWM converter of Korea High Speed Train and proposes control algorism to realize the sinusolidal input current waveform and the effective unity power factor. The validity of the proposed control method is verified through the experimental result.

본 논문은 6-스텝까지 인버터의 선형제어영역을 넓히기 위한 공간전압 변조방법의 선형화 기법에 대해 제안하였다. 이 방법은 인버터에서 발생시키고자 하는 전압을 연속모드에서는 보상각을 얻기 위해서 6스텝 모드를 포함하는 불연속모드에서는 불연속 스위칭이 이루어지도록 하는 유지각을 얻기 위해서 퓨리에 급수를 이용하고 있다. 이 각들의 근사화 수식들을 과변조 영역에서 기본파 전압을 보상하기 위해 사용하였다. 따라서, PWM 인버터 출력전압의 최대 활용과 선형 제어를 이룰 수 있다. This paper proposes a linearization technique for the space vector modulation method, which increases the linear control range of inverter up to the 6-step inverter. This method is based on fourier series expansion of the desired output voltage of the inverter to calculate the compensation angle in continuous switching mode and holding angle in discontinuous switching including the 6-step mode respectively. The approximation equation of these angles are used for compensation of fundamental voltage in overmodulation range. Therefore, it is possible to obtain the linear control and the maximized utilization of PWM inverter output voltage.

In Auxiliary block of High speed train Power factor correction and Harmonics reduction is very important issue for efficient energy transport. The GTO-equipped PWM converter is used for traction until resently. But the rising power capability of IGBTs resently allows to build IGBT-equipped PWM converter with a considerably increased switching frequency. In this paper presents switching pattern, control method, operation mode and tuned filter to reduce dc link voltage ripple for paralleled converter.

본 논문은 고속전철 보조전원장치에 사용되는 2대의 PWM 컨버터 병렬운전에 관하여 다루고 있다. 고역률을 이루고 변압기 1차측 전류 고조파 성분을 줄이기 위하여 3레벨 PWM 스위칭 방법에 의해 제어되는 AC/DC PWM 컨버터의 병렬운전을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 변압기의 결합효과를 제거하기 위한 제어기법과 컨버터 2대 사이의 위상전이기법 및 전원과 제어기를 동기화하기 위한 영점 검출방식을 나타내었다. TMS320C31 마이크로 프로세서와 10[㎸A] PWM 컨버터로 구성된 축소시스템에 의한 실험 결과들은 제안된 알고리즘의 타당성을 보여주고 있다. This paper deals with the parallel operation of two PWM converters for auxiliary block of high speed train. The parallel operation of AC/DC PWM converter controlled by 3-level PWM switching method to operate switching devices to realize a high power factor and reduce the primary side of the transformer current harmonics is proposed. In this paper, it is presented the phase shift technique between two converters switching phase, solution to eliminate the coupling effects due to the transformer and zero crossing detection method for synchronized with the source and controller. Experimental results for laboratory system with TMS320C31 microprocessor and 10[㎸A] PWM converter confirm the validity of the proposed algorithm.
