The purpose of this study is to identify the research trends of domestic studies related to music play in young children, which combines play and music. Based on this, we would like to present a direction for research on music play for young children. For this purpose, 132 selected studies published from 2000 to March 2021 in domestic academic journals and dissertations were classified into research years, subjects, methods, subjects, and music activity types. As a result of the study, the annual research trend of music play has steadily increased since 2000, with most studies on young children and parents showing insufficient research. Quantitative research was the most common method of music play research, while for research topics, music play methods were most common, followed by the development of music programs, understanding of music play, and theory of music play research. In addition, the types of music play activities for young children showed the highest singing, followed by integrated music activities, and music-making and sound exploration showed the lowest. Based on these results, we hope that various research subjects, methods, topics, and types of music activities related to music play will be attempted.
TED 동영상을 활용한 토론수업이 예비유아교사의 지식공유와 공유리더십에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to verify effectiveness of the discussion classes using TED videos and to provide implications to high-level direction of teaching and learning methods for pre-service early childhood teacher. In order to examine the effectiveness of discussion classes using TED videos, the study includes an experiment which analyzes the change of knowledge sharing and shared leadership skills by comparing before and after 15weeks of discussion class for 22 early childhoods education students at the University in Gyeongsangnam -do. The results of this study were as follows: First, knowledge sharing of pre service early childhood teachers improved significantly after the discussion using TED video. Second, the shared leadership of the pre-service early childhood teachers improved significantly after the debate class using TED video. Additionally, and test scores for planning, organization, support, and consideration are improved remarkably as well.

This study investigated test instruments used in research in early childhood music education to assess musical ability in young children. The subjects were 268 test instruments used in early childhood music education research in South Korea. Thirty-four original instruments and 62 revised ones were analyzed according to overall features, patterns used, content featured, and frequency of use. Among the subjects, the original test instruments from overseas were developed before the year 2000, while the domestic original test instruments were developed after that year. Some of the test instruments have not been evaluated through the processes of validity. Most consisted of questionnaires with 30 or fewer questions, administered on a one-to-one basis between the test subject and administrator. The most common subcategory of items for evaluation in the original instruments was musical behavior, where singing and playing instruments were most frequently measured. Other subcategories included cognition and attitude. Regarding cognition, the original instruments most frequently requested test subjects to distinguish between rhythm and melody, while attitude was measured using five musical activities and concepts to determine subjects’ activeness, attention, expression, interest, and curiosity. Secondly, reinterpreted and revised instruments replaced a few of the original ones. Thirdly, an analysis of 34 original and 62 revised instruments determined that cognition was measured 162 times (52.8%), behavior 79 times (25.7%), and attitude 66 times (21.5%). Thus, musical cognition is the area most frequently studied area in early childhood music education research in South Korea. These results provide direction for further development in early childhood music education instruments and research.

In this study, we evaluated the skin moisturizing effect of Brasenia schreberi (B. schreberi) mucilage polysaccharide on human skin and in vitro and the potent cosmetic ingredient for skin. To protect skin from various environmental stresses and aging, we should increase moisture content of skin and prevent water loss. We have found that polysaccharides extracted from mucilage of B. schreberi improved the roughness of skin with its lubricating behavior. In vitro, the expression of transglutaminase 1 (TGM1) gene, which plays a role in cross-linking the skin barrier, was increased when the keratinocytes were treated with B. schreberi polysaccharides. In addition, the expression of hyaluronan synthase 3 (HAS3) gene, an enzyme that synthesizes water-binding matrix hyaluronic acid, aquaporin 3 (AQP3), which regulates the movement of water and glycerol were also increased. In addition, an experiment to evaluate its potential as a cosmetic ingredient has shown anti-inflammatory and collagen synthesis-promoting effects. As a result, the mucilaginous polysaccharide from natural products which has not existed before, showed moisturizing effect, anti-inflammation and collagen synthesis-promoting effects for skin protection and hydration.
