Guidelines for Writing the Setup Operation Manual

In order to satisfy various desires of consumers, a company should produce a variety of products and the production lot size should be as small as possible inevitably. Then, it requires frequent setup works for the model changes. Since setup works are usually carried out after stopping the operation of the equipment, we must minimize the time required for setup works. Major companies are continuously shortening the setup time over the technical guidance from the leading companies, such as Toyota and their own improvement activities up until now. But small and medium-sized(S&M) companies rely on skills and experience of individual engineers due to lack of the personnel and budget. In this paper, we propose systematic guidelines for writing the setup operation manual to support S&M companies. Major functions of the guidelines are drawing process charts specialized in the setup operation, separating the external and internal setup operations, and minimizing internal setup operations. By utilizing the guidelines, it is expected that S&M companies can prepare and apply their own setup operation manual with a minimum of manpower and money. Then, they can manage setup works in a more efficient and reduce the setup time and lower the production cost.

동영상 데이터가 급증하면서 뉴스 검색과 같은 검색 서비스를 위한 내용 기반의 색인 방법에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에 따른 최근의 동영상 색인 기술들은 특히 용량이 큰 동영상에서 자동 또는 반자동으로 색인하기 위한 방법들을 소개하고 있으며, 대부분 저수준 특징(low-level feature)들을 이용하여 특정 구간을 검출하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 그러나 저수준 특징만을 이용할 경우 고수준 특징(high-level feature)이 나타내는 인지적 측면에서의 동영상 내용을 다룰수 없어, 사용자가 일일이 내용에 따른 구분 작업을 병행해야 하는 단점을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 뉴스와 같이 시간적으로 비정규적이지만 내용에 따라 구조를 지니고 있는 동영상에 대해서, 저수준 특징만을 사용하여 고수준 특징을 이용한 것과 같은 성능으로 사용자가 수행해야 하는 작업을 최소화하는 내용 기반 구간 검출 방법에 의한 색인 방법을 제안한다. 특히 저수준 특징을 이용한 프로그램 구간검출은 빠른 처리 및 효과적인 검출 성능 보이고 있어, 본 논문에서 제안한 비정규 구조 색인 방법이 내용 기반 색인에 매우 효과적임을 보여주고 있다.

FutureSteelVehicle’s (FSV) objective is to develop detailed design concepts for a radically different steel body structure for a compact Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). It also will identify structure changes to accommodate larger Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) and Fuel Cell (FCEV) vehicle variants. The paper will demonstrate optimization of seven structural sub-systems that contribute to the programme’s 35 percent mass reduction goals and meet its safety and life cycle emissions targets. WorldAutoSteel launched Phase 2 of its FutureSteelVehicle program with the aim to show automakers how latest and future steel grades & technologies can provide light body structures for electrified vehicles. The objective was to develop detailed design concepts and fully optimise a radically different steel body structure for a compact battery electric vehicle in production in the 2015-2020 timeframe. This paper discloses the final outcomes of the Phase 2 development, detailing steel body structure concepts for the aforementioned vehicles that achieved the aggressive mass target of 190 ㎏, while meeting 2015-2020 crash performance objectives as well as total life cycle greenhouse gas emissions targets, NVH and stiffness. This is achieved using advanced & ultra high-strength steels, engineering design optimization and advanced steel technologies.

This paper introduces a newly developed high speed material testing apparatus for tensile tests at the strain rate up to 500 /sec. The tensile material properties of sheet metals are indispensible for the accurate crashworthiness analysis of auto-bodies since the local strain rate reaches to 500 /sec in the car crash. An appropriate experimental method has to be developed to acquire the tensile material properties at the intermediate strain rate ranged from 0.003/sec to 200/sec. Tensile tests of various different steel sheets for an auto-body were performed to obtain the dynamic properties with respect to the strain rate. The dimensions of specimens that can provide the reasonable results were determined by the finite element analysis. A special jig fixture of a load cell is designed to reduce the load ringing phenomenon induced by unstable stress propagation at the high strain rate. Stress - strain curves were acquired for each steel sheet from the dynamic tensile test and utilized to obtain the relationship of the stress to the strain rate.
