This work describes the process by which a metabolically unstable TRT-0002 compound exhibiting Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL)-sensitizing activity for Huh7 cells at a high working concentration (40??M) is converted to more potent and metabolically improved analogues by modifying the 5-amino group and the 1-aryl moiety in the 1H-indazole skeleton. The efforts enabled us to identify 5-sulfonamido derivatives, TRT-0029 and TRT-0173 compounds, working at lower concentrations (10 and 20??M, respectively) and with improved metabolic stabilities. As reported previously by us, co-treating cultured Huh7 cells with either TRT-0029 or TRT-0173 and TRAIL resulted in TRAIL-induced apoptosis due to the inhibition of the MKK7?TOR signaling pathway regulator-like (TIPRL) interaction and subsequent phosphorylation of MKK7 and JNK. In addition, the injection of TRT-0029 or TRT-0173 compound suppressed tumor growth in combination with TRAIL in an in vivo hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) mouse xenograft model. TRT-0029 and TRT-0173 compounds and the relevant structure?activity relationship can provide an insight into further study on optimization of potency and metabolic stability.
Preparation of indium tin oxide powder from low-grade metallic indium and tin

Preparation of indium-tin oxide(ITO) powder by oxalic acid from metallic indium and tin was investigated. The intermediate(indium-tin oxalate salt) was formerly prepared at various conditions, and thermal decomposition was followed to obtain ITO powder for ITO target. Optimum conditions for preparation of the intermediate were oxalic acid concentration 2.0M, pH 8.0, reaction temperature 80 oC and reaction time 6 hours. The purity of the intermediate could be increased by recrystallization up to 99.99% (4 N). The phase transition temperature of the intermediate to ITO powder was analyzed by TGA. The purity, crystal structure and particle shape of ITO powder were examined by ICP-OES, XRD and TEM, respectively. ITO powder obtained was spherical, whose size was 20-50 nm.
Preparation of indium oxide from waste indium tin oxide targets by oxalic acid

Indium oxide manufacturing process from waste indium tin oxide (ITO) targets by oxalic acid was experimentally studied. The process was composed of precipitation of intermediate (indium-oxalate salt), re-crystallization and its thermal decomposition. The waste ITO targets were generated from vacuum sputtering process. The effects of operating parameters, such as solid dosage, oxalic acid concentration, reaction temperature and time, on the precipitation and re-crystallization of indium-oxalate salt were examined. Thermal decomposition to indium oxide was also investigated. The optimum reaction conditions to indium-oxalate salt were oxalic acid concentration 1.5M, solid dosage 50 g/L, reaction temperature 80 oC and reaction time 8 hours. The purity of indium-oxalate salt prepared by precipitation and re-crystallization was 99.99% (4 N), and the salts were thermally decomposed to indium oxide at over 600 oC. The purity of the final product, indium oxide, was dependent on that of the intermediate, indium oxalate salt.
건강보험 환자와 의료급여 환자의 심인성 병원외심정지 사망률에 영향을 미치는 요인들

The objective of this research is to suggest an effective policy direction on off-hospital cardiac arrest by analyzing the mortality difference between Medical Aid (MA) population and National Health Insurance (NHI) population under off-hospital cardiac arrest. The data set used in this research is from the Korean Centers for Disease Control Cardiac Arrest Survey raw data from 2012 to 2016. The whole data set has 142,905 patients who underwent off-hospital cardiac arrest in those period but we used 11,225 patients for analysis since they do not have any missing value in major variables such as cardiography. MA patients had 3.1% higher mortality rate than NHI patients under off-hospital cardiac arrest. The difference was significant but multivaraiate logistic regression analysis showed the significance disappears when other factors such as gender, age, CPR performed or not, transportation time to hospital less than 30 minutes, and non-shockable rhythm are controlled. Most important interpretation of this finding is the significantly higher mortality rate of MA patients under off-hospital cardiac arrest can be further lowered through diffusion of emergency devices such as automated external defibrillator (AED) and education on how to use them. This policy direction will significantly improve mortality rate of MA patients who are believed to have less healthy status.
Synthesis and characterization of cholesteric liquid crystal compounds with isosorbide group

이메소제닉 화합물은 중앙을 기준으로 양 말단에 메소젠을 갖는 액정화합물로써 좋은 모형화로 고려되어왔다. 그 중 아조벤젠을 기반으로 한 액정화합물은 광학이성질체화 물질로써 다양한 분야에서 액정 표시소자에 응용되어지고 있다. 또한 바이오 매스로부터 추출된 Isosorbide는 비교적 저가로 상업생산이 되고 있으며 카이랄성을 갖는 화합물로써 액정화합물이 나선형의 분자 배열을 갖는 콜레스테릭 액정을 갖도록 유도한다. 콜레스테릭 액정에서 카이랄 구조는 온도와 같은 외부 자극에 의해 피치를 조절할 수 있고, 이러한 액정화합물은 온도표시 소자로써 사용되어 질 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이메소제닉 액정화합물에 카이랄 도판트로써 Isosorbide를 갖는 액정화합물을 합성하여 각 화합물들의 특성에 대해 연구하였다.

Isosorbide는 바이오 매스 기반으로 생산되어, 낮은 가격으로 시장성에 유리하며, 2개의 수산기를 갖는 다이올로, 축합중합이나 부가중합으로 폴레에스테르계와 폴리카보네이트계의 고분자의 합성이 연구되어 지고 있다. 또한, 지방족환구조의 강직한 분자이고, 카이랄성을 갖는 Isosorbide는 특별한 광학성질을 부여하며, 고분자의 유리전이온도를 높이기 위해 사용된다. 따라서 액정고분자에 Isosorbide를 도입함으로서 액정고분자에 카이랄성을 부여하며 분자 배열이 나선 구조를 갖는 콜레스테릭 액정을 형성할 수 있게 된다. 본 연구에서는 카이랄 구조를 포함하는 콜레스테릭 폴리에스터를 합성하였으며, 분자 내 Isosorbide의 함량이 액정성과 물성에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다.
