Standard free energy changes for reduction of chromium oxides and formation of carbides by CO gas were calculated. The results are interpreted that reduction of chromium oxides and formation of chromium carbides from the oxides or the metal by CO gas are possible only when partial pressure of CO gas is considerably high. In this study, various ratios of CO and CO₂had been blowing through Fe-Cr alloy contained different [Cr %] and the slag at 1600℃ and the results are summarized as follows; 1. Reduction of (Cr₂O₃) to (CrO) in acid slag by CO gas was established up to about 50% CO. 2. [Cr %] in molten steel is nearly reciprocal to CO₂%, but Oxidation of chromium by CO₂is lower than the equilibrium data thermodynamically calculated, 3. Although charged chromium amount increase, chromium content in steel is constant under constant CO/CO₂ratio. 4. Carbon content in steel increases as chromium content increase.

This study describes a preliminary evaluation of the anti-inflammatory activity of Acrosorium yendoi Yamada extracts. A. yendoi Yamada was extracted using 80% ethanol and then fractionated sequentially with n-hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol. To screen for anti-inflammatory agents effectively, we first examined the inhibitory effect of 80% EtOH extract and solvent fractions of A. yendoi Yamada on the production of pro-inflammatory factors and cytokines stimulated with lipopolysaccharide. In addition, we examined the inhibitory effect of 80% EtOH extract and solvent fractions of A. yendoi Yamada on pro-inflammatory mediators (NO, iNOS, PGE2, and COX-2) in RAW 264.7 cells. In the sequential fractions of n-hexane and EtOAc inhibited the NO and PGE2 production and the protein level of iNOS and COX-2, and protein expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, and IL-6). These results suggest that A. yendoi Yamada may have significant effects on inflammatory factors and may be provided as possible anti-inflammatory therapeutic seaweed. 본 연구는 누은분홍잎(Acrosorium yendoi Yamada) 80% 에탄올를 가지고 추출한 후 추출물을 극성에 따라 순차적으로 용매분획을 실시하여, 80% 에탄올 추출물 및 그 분획물들의 염증반응의 주체가 되는 대식세포 계열인 RAW 264.7 세포에서 LPS 로 유도된 NO의 생성억제 효과, 그리고 iNOS와 COX-2의 단백질 발현 억제효과, PGE2 생성 억제 효과 및 TNF-α와 IL-6등과같은 pro-inflammatory cytokines 생성 억제효과 등을 알아보았다. 대식세포 계열인 RAW 264.7 세포에 LPS로 자극을 주고누은분홍잎 80% 에탄올 추출물 및 분획물을 처리하여 확인해본결과, 에틸아세테이트 분획물에서 NO와 PGE2 생성 억제 활성

As a part of "the Fundamental Study of Pyrometallurgical Debismuthizing of Lead", the author has studied liquid Pb-Bi, Pb-Na, Bi-Na binaries and Pb-Bi-Na ternary including Pb rich side composition which forms a basis of the Dittmer method. In this study, debismuthizing mechanism of the Dittmer method pertaining to the lead rich corner of the system studied was classified by the results of thermal analysis, solubility determination of Bi and Na in liquid Pb and debismuthizing test by adding metallic sodium. For instance eutectic trough in lead rich corner of Pb-Bi-Na ternary relating to the Dittmer method was determined.

Since June of this year. The Korea Tungsten Mining Company has been constructing a metal processing complex at Yongdongpo, industrial province of the capital city of Korea. The principal facilities of this complex are Tungsten Processing plant, Tungsten Carbide plant and Bismuth refining plant. In addition to these plants, various processing facilities of Ferro Tungsten, Bismuth alloy, Bismuth Salts, Molybdenium. Tellurium and Selenium are considered as immediate expansion objective of the said complex. In Tungsten processing plant the company produced synthetic scheelite will be converted to the ammonium para-tungstate(A.P.T.) of which is obtainable from tungstic acid(H₂WO₄). This acid can be derived from Hydro-Chloric acid digestion of synthetic scheelite. Some portion of this A.P.T. will be turned into Tungsten Metal powder by hydrogen reduction method. In Tungsten Carbide plant, Tungsten Carbide tipper tools would be initial product and latter it would broader to Rock percussion drill bits and wire drowing dies. The Bismuth refining plant will produce high purity Bismuth Metal(99.99% Bi) from crude Bismuth concentrate(30% Bi). There are of course, some obstacle ahead of these projects. The most significant one is the marketability of its forthcoming products. Their present domestic demand are very much limitted due to the weaker machinery industry of Korea. Thus increase the weight of foreign market, particularly Far East Asian countries, onto the Fruitful operation of this complex.
